Wrote this on yelp as well but this place is great. Scans are gorgeous and there’s a bunch of options for color from flat to fully edited versions depending on your own needs. The quick develop/scan option is one day and barely more cost than the slower option. The employees are friendly and always up for a chat about film/cameras/whatever. I wish I could hide them so I don't have competition for their time but I can't. Highly recommend.
I LOVE Gelatin Labs and cannot recommend them enough! After sending them my last batch of film, they were experiencing high order volume but consistently put out updates and communicated through the entire process. I have been getting my film developed with them for 3 years now and appreciate the dedication to quality, customer satisfaction, and the community. They also continue to improve the offerings of services they provide and I’m always excited to see what they do next!
Gelatin Labs is awesome! I sent out a roll last year and unfortunately it was blank and they let me know and worked with me. I was incredibly bummed out about it as I just started getting back into photography. They gave me advice on what could be causing my roll to be blank since I just bought the camera. I was able to get it fixed and send out a roll. The turn around on getting my scans and my printed photos was fast, they give you utd emails on where your roll is and when your photos will be shipped out. I'm still a rookie at taking photos and I'm 100% sure that the settings I had for most of my photos were not right but I had a lot of fun taking them and I loved how they came out. I am in the process of sending out some more rolls to them. The price is great and the communication is amazing. I highly recommend Gelatin Labs.
Love Gelatin Labs! The pictures turned out beautifully. They were quick to turn it around, even during the busier holiday season, and drop off was a breeze. I was concerned that most of my low light photos would come out underexposed, but they turned out brilliantly! So happy with the results. Thanks Gelatin Labs :)
I have no doubt this lab does exceptional work based on their hundreds of doting reviews but I get the feeling they may have grown and too big for their britches and taken on too large a work load.
I took a chance on them with 5 rolls of film. Their website noted their turnaround time could be up to 20 days at the time of my order. For faster turnaround they encourage you to choose Fast Pass however the style of scans I was looking for were not available fast pass. I specifically wanted my scans with black borders per client request (part of why I chose Gelatin) and Fringe scans were not eligible for fast pass scanning. I'm now going on 30 days and have yet to receive my scans. Communication started strong with them addressing issues with mailing label, and has completely fallen off since last week when they noted my scans should be done by Friday. It's now a week later and several unanswered emails and no scans.
I hope that they are able to grow their team, scale their production, get back on track timing wise while continuing to do the incredible work prior clients talk about but I don't think I can ever send my film confidently to them again considering this lack of communication and time frame.
