We recently hired GBC to repaint the exterior of our home with Tex-Cote, and overall we're really happy with the results. Their pricing was very competitive compared to other quotes we received, and the quality of the work was outstanding. I really appreciated Aaron coming out to look at our house and give us a quote. He wasn't sales-pitchey at all--unlike some of the other companies we talked to. No song and dance, very straightforward, and that honesty made a big difference for us. The team was responsive whenever we reached out, and Jessica was always available for calls, which we really appreciated. There were a few moments where we wished for a bit more communication along the way--especially around scheduling and some unexpected design changes that came up during the process. However, everything worked out in the end. That said, the finished product looks great, Fernando and the team were accommodating with any requests we had, and we'd consider working with them again. Overall, a positive experience with solid value.

We highly recommend GBC Remodeling. After 25 years in our home, we sought out a contractor who would be reliable and provide excellent work. We did 3 exterior projects, and were very happy after each project was completed. The first was exterior stucco repair and painting using Tex-cote. Fernando and his crew were very hard workers with attention to detail. The exterior painting is beautiful. The second was to replace all (>20) windows in our house with vinyl Aldin windows. The window crew was very efficient and hardworking, and we were very satisfied with the installation process and the Aldin windows.The third project was to perform roof work doing a lift and lay of concrete tiles. After 25 years, despite no roof leaks, we decided to replace the underlayment, and it was a good investment. We had some water and termite damage to the house wood trim and also boards on roof that needed to be replaced. It was a perfect time to do the needed roof work. Jason and his crew have done an excellent job in doing all the needed repairs and replacement work. In all three projects, the workers were extremely competent, friendly, and hardworking. We enjoyed meeting with Aaron in negotiating the home improvement contracts. He was honest, straightforward, knowledgeable. I was also impressed by the excellent communication, and with his helpful office staff Jessica and John. I find dealing with contractors stressful, but they made all projects go smoothly and with great quality of workmanship.

GBC did a great job on my over 100 year old house. I wanted to use a company that used Tex-Cote cause it was a life time warranty on the paint job and wouldn’t fade. Both ever important here in San Diego. I was nervous when picking a painter, but Aaron was great! He provided me with an amazing quote and insured me that his team would take care of me. Fernando and his team were great. They were honest and would recommend changes to the job when it was needed. Be it to save me money or to make the colors POP. Either way Fernando’s 30 years of experience made the difference.

I used this company to replace my clay tile roof with a more updated concrete flat tile roof. I will include my final bill, pictures and video or still shots in the event videos will not load. I'm disappointed in the result, but just to be fair, after you view the pictures you can come to your own conclusion. And yes, Ive tried calling them, and they will not return my call, so I'm taking my concerns to yelp. This lack of calling back seems to be a trend, though, as you can see from other reviews. 1. My home has solar panels, and I expressed a concern to the supervisor that I saw the worker walking ON the solar panels. He said, "He has experience installing solar panels and knows how to walk on them." You're not supposed to walk on solar panels. This could be a very expensive repair down the line. 2. The mud used in the corners/points of the roof are mismatched - some are red and some are white and not painted over (they were forgotten). That's a lack of attention to detail. When I expressed this concern, the supervisor said that I can finish it off with some spray paint. If I've paid tens of thousands of dollars for a new roof, at no point should I be expected to climb onto my roof to finish up the parts they forgot. That instruction being given to me is insane. There were a couple of other minor things that they addressed, so I won't get too into weeds on that. Ultimately, they were great in the beginning until they got the final check in their hands. I shouldn't be told to head up to my roof to fix work they didn't do. I shouldn't be dismissed when I express concern over the lack of care with the solar panels. I'm hopeful there's no damage to those, but only time will tell. That has potential to be a very expensive repair. I went with GBC because they matched their competitors' quote, offered a military discount, and they used Malarkey underlayment, which is high quality vs. traditional felt. Turns out, the Malarkey I was sold on ended up being pure "malarky" for me.

That said, I would suggest that future customers stay involved and ask questions as the work progresses. The only area that fell short for me was the finishing details. For example, the roof flashing was painted a terracotta color instead of matching my house color as it was before. I actually had the correct paint on hand and would have gladly provided it if asked. I ended up repainting some of the flashing the correct color myself that I could reach. The new flashing looked a little rough (photo). I have hired a painter to finish the rest that I’m not able to reach. There were also a few unexpected design changes, such as new scuppers that now drain directly onto my porch. These weren’t part of the original setup and look a bit out of place. I wish I had been consulted about that decision ahead of time so we could have discussed other options. Despite those issues, I’m happy with the overall result and would consider using GBC again in the future—with the benefit of experience to ask more questions along the way.

A scupper that was not previously on the roof. It is on the porch overhang that will empty water directly on the porch.

We contracted GBC to fix a leak on our master bathroom which was not fixed After they finished the project we still have the original problem Jason the Project Manager who originally lead the project came over and o surprise he could not find any problem on the area they "Redo" but the main problem of water coming in is from the chimney??? I couldn't believe that they were working in the roof area which did not have a problem and they were not aware since the beginning that the problem was from the chimney Bottom line we have to pay for the replacing of a roof area that was not the problem and now we have to swallow an other big chunk of money to replace the chimney I believe Jason does not have enough experience on this kind of projects. So please be careful on who you hire to fix a leak problem that apparently has to down with your roof.

GBC did a great job painting our house. I have Coolwall applied and it looks great! They started the job with an estimated 10 - 12 days to complete and did it nine. Completely professional from project manager to the workers.

Didn't want a flip job, but that's basically what I got. Why even ask what windows I want if they're just going to stick me with 20yo rain glass that I specifically didn't want. Same with the bulky flip job windows that I absolutely didn't want, which I had to get to suit their schedule. Wasn't cheap work either. They pitch the windows are all custom made, but they're coming from a factory that makes custom windows. It's an upcharge for nothing. The factory can make any size window. It's not window science. Anyways I'm up at 4am to let my dogs out since they wanted some crazy amount to add a dog door that's a $100 part. Get familiar with the CR Laurence catalog and find someone that will get you what you want.

Been waiting since the 27th to get paint touch ups, cracked stucco repaired and paint bubbling repaired. No phone call to say they weren't going to make it or to reschedule. Since work day 1 I have always regretted working with this company. Delayed scheduling and below average work, hence the repairs that are already needed. Do better
