David designed our house several years ago. The design was perfect for our requirements. We recently requested an elevator design that was to fit in a predesigned location within the house. He did a remarkable job that fit both workable requirements of the elevator as well as aesthetics of design for the entire house.

We are in the process of building a house in Pointe West and we were so very fortunate to find David Mullican to design our home. He was great to work with throughout the design process. It was so important to find a architect who had the experience to design not only a beautiful home but one that would do well in the Galveston coastal environment. He listened and collaborated, took our ideas and transformed them into the plans for our family’s new beach retreat. We had a five star experience working with David and we can highly recommend him.

He know that we were cost conscious, and that informed his finishes. His attention to detail shows in the results. He was always gracious, polite, and willing to go the extra mile. On his own, he monitored progress of the construction, and was always accessible to the builder and to us when we had questions, or asked for his expert advice.
David was given the freedom to architect our beach house using the footprint to create maximum capacity for rentals and personal enjoyment. The result was outstanding.

Super easy to work with , he was responsive to our needs and did an outstanding job on designing what was an extremely challenging build. David went above and beyond what we expected. If I had it to do all over again , I would hire David in a heartbeat!!
David Mullican displayed his gifted talents by designing a house that represents our ideal home on the beach..It was a pleasure sitting down with him conveying our like and want thoughts of what we wanted in a beach house. David is an incredibly talented architect. Not only does he create beautiful spaces, but he possesses vast knowledge on materials performance in a coastal environment. His architecture not only looks good, it performs well too! Plus, he's a super nice guy - and a pleasure to deal with. I highly recommend him.
David is a fantastic architect and a valuable addition to any home building team. His service went above and beyond just drawing a wonderful home. He takes time to visit with the builder, provide site visits and is always ready to pivot if need be in order to meet objectives. Quick with his pencil, he consistently turned around documents in short order with high accuracy.
David is a real talent and a valuable custodian of Galveston Island Architecture.
This review represents my personal opinion of my own unpleasant interactions with Mr. Mullican.
As a board member, I've had to deal with multiple issues on multiple Mullican homes in a new development. Very sloppy mechanical placements on homes. Very unpleasant to interact with him. His tendency to stretch interpretation of guidelines to fit his plans instead of assure his plans fit the guidelines demonstrates his arrogance as to his abilities.
If you'd like to see a home Mr. Mullican is endorsing as great, there is a home with fake windows (they're painted on) that sagged 18 inches in the first year and remains under construction after 2 years. It is located at 3 Grand Beach Blvd, 77550 and was designed by Mr. Mullican. Multiple current owners and potential lot buyers have complained about the home. But feel free to see for yourself. It looks terrible. Find another architect.
20 years ago, David designed and supervised the building of our beautiful weekend home on Bolivar, commonly known as the Marvin Home by neighbors and on his site. Besides being very creative and unique in design, the Marvin Home survived Hurricane IKE with little structural damage, whereas many nearby homes were demolished.
As a Realtor, I love to point out David Mullican's designs. I always recommend him when I'm asked about local Architects to work with.
David did a wonderful job designing our beach home. It is exactly what we wanted. The plans were thoughtful and met all of our needs. He especially did a great job highlighting the beach views. We would use him again.
David designed a house for us 15 years ago. A contemporary house all our architect friend’s coon over. And with the assistance of our engineer, David was able to design what is known as the “glass house” on the West End of the island. And between the two minds, they created a house that had no damage during Hurricane Ike. A beautiful home in function and form - Thanks David for making it happen!
We used David to design our house almost 26 years ago, when he was first getting started. The other architects we spoke with had their own ideas and wanted US to conform to them. David was the only architect who listened to us and designed a house that reflected our desires. In the intervening years David has always been helpful when we wanted to change something or needed information about the construction of the house. Would whole heartedly recommend him.
