Ce pont enjambe le Danube et permet de relier la ville de Buda à la ville de Pest.
Il se trouve juste à la base du Mont Géllert et relie le marché central à celui-ci.
Construit à partir de 1894, il fut inauguré en 1896 pour fêter le millénaire de l'installation des Magyars dans la région.
Il est tout en acier, s'inspire du pont des chaines, à voir de jour comme de nuit.

The bridge that's the pair of the Erzsebet bridge.
The Liberty bridge - formerly named after the emperor Franz Josef and he was also present when the bridge was commissioned in lat 1890.
The bridge - after the Chain bridge - is one of the most interesting of the bridges of Budapest due to its bolted/riveted steel structure.
This one - like any other bridge in this city - was destroyed by the retreating german army in WWII in early 1945. But is has been rebuilt after the war in 1946 and since that it has been refurbished several times.
Overall another interesting landmark of Budapest, definitely worth a few pics.

Photogenic bridge
This particular bridge was our favourite, it has an art nouveau, feel about it, the structure suffered heavily during WWII, and was rebuilt in 1945. The best side has the public space Fovam ter, (square) and the very popular central market, with its beautiful facade.
