Excellent service and great quality. I love my glasses. Thank you so much
The eyeglass factory has wonderful staff, they are all very professional and kind. Every experience there is a great experience.
I'm 3 generation Santa Barbara native, I have been coming here for about 6 years. And Ricky has always been super helpful, I get my eye exams next door with doctor Waters and she has always given the best eye exam. Plus you get a discount off your new lenses when you go to her next door. This business does good things for the community as well. Thank you Eye glass factory.

Thank you Michele for your kind words and will definitely share with Ricky.
I've bought my last pairs ( bifoclals and sunglass bifocals) from the eyeglass factory. I used this vendor happily for many years, but no longer. The latest pairs were so poorly made that I willl discard and replace them from another vendor. The bifocals were made such that the only way to see through the reading lens is to hold a text directly below you. They are useless in a grocery store, on a computer screen etc. The nose piece was not adjusted resulting in the glasses slipping down your nose and hurting after a few minutes of wear. No more!

Hi Bill,
I'm glad you left a review because it gives us an opportunity to respond. We never want anyone to keep glasses that they are unhappy with. You may be frustrated but I'm sure we can help you. Natalie is also going to reach out. I hope you find this message well as our intentions are sincere.
Thank you,
Gregg

Their pricing scheme is bizarre to say the least. The fees on their big, overhead menu are a mix of per set of eyeglasses fees, with some per lens fees (so, 2x for each set). So watch the bottom line closely and make sure every charge they charge you makes sense to you first. I did the BOGO deal, and in the end it was a headache to understand.
Once again, my experience at the Eyeglass Factory was more than satisfactory. The staff is always professional, courteous, helpful and gives great advice on the best frames for my face. The frames needed to be flattering and I walked out with two beautiful pairs of glasses with anti-glare. The price for two pairs, the two hour time frame and the wonderful customer service I receive each time I go to the Eyeglass Factory keeps me coming back each year. This is the best place for all of my optical needs and has been for several years. I also love that the Eyeglass Factory provides thousands of frames to children for free every year, what an amazing gift for those who need to see! Thank you!
Ricky is practical, considerate and thorough! I am so relieved to know the bottom line in what I’m buying and what to expect from the various customizations available when ordering lenses. The selection is prime, the prices are SO REASONABLE (including designer labels) and the covid precautions are heeded top to bottom. My favorite by far since leaving my small town’s optician ten years ago.

Eyeglass Factory used to be a good place to order glasses in Santa Barbara. Not anymore. I ordered the same type of progressive glasses with anti-glare protection as I did two years ago, but I had to pay over $200 more for basically the same product this year. As their staff member casually explained to me this 30% increase in price, "Everything gets more expensive." Really? Moreover, the company promises free maintenance and repair, which is not true, at least, the repair part. My friend returned to them last month to reattach a temple (he basically needed a new hinge) and they refused to do so. As a result, he had to order new glasses and pay for them. Furthermore, they are NOT net-work providers for any insurance company (because they would not be able to increase their prices uncontrollably if they were) and therefore, their customers cannot receive proper reimbursement for ordering glasses there. Shop around before going there if you want to have quality glasses for a reasonable price. Eyeglass Factory IS NOT the best place for purchasing glasses in Santa Barbara.

Hi Yana,
I believe we are ultimately responsible for your experience, but I would like to take the opportunity to respond.
We have not raised our pricing in at least a decade (definitely not a year). I don't have your specific history at our store, but there has to be an explanation for any difference in what you may have paid before, certainly one better than "everything gets more expensive." If that was our only/best response, then I apologize.
We do free repairs at least daily and I would go as far to say that if we could not repair then it was not repairable (by anyone), short of replacing the whole frame and/or lenses as well, which apparently we were able to do. If the frame had been purchased from us we offer free one year warranty replacement.
There are a handful of insurance vision plans and there are two that we do take as in-network. There are also several that we are able to accept as out-of-network. We can access what the paid benefit is, and often we add an extra write-off, ensuring that the customer pays zero for a standard lens.
I have to assume that we could have responded and/or handled better and for that I am sincerely sorry. All feed back is always appreciated and in this case we will strive to do better.
Very Sincerely,
Gregg
