In February, my wife and I were on a tour through the Western Cape with our guide, Mr. George Meyer of Geotrac Tours. He took us to an antique store in Barrydale, where I found a carved wooden giraffe. I fell in love with the giraffe and wanted to buy it then and there. The problem was: how do I get it to Canada?
After stumbling around in the dark, the owner of the store referred me to Kings International and I encountered a lady there, Nicole. After some discussions, she referred me to Mariette and “our sister company, Excess Luggage.” What a special find that was. Mariette was very good at helping me navigate the process of collecting the giraffe from the owner, who brought him from Barrydale to Cape Town. Then she arranged for the packaging and fumigating. Finally, she was very patient with me when my credit card was declined three times even after I had phoned the credit card company to expect a charge from South Africa from Excess Luggage. On the fourth call to the credit card company, they said: “Oh you have to call the Fraud Department, they have a different number.” When I called the Fraud Department and told them what I was trying to do, they finally cleared the charge. As I say, she was very patient and understanding through all this process.
Finally, I would like to compliment the men who packed the giraffe. He arrived in perfect condition, being very well and safely packed. Please give my thanks to them and also to Nicole.
Excess Luggage gets a 10 out of 10.
By the way, the giraffe has a new name: He is Mr. Barrydale.

Got there the lady told me to put my bags under the table. The receipt was jus a piece of paper but had other bookings made for the day so we jus had to leave the bags under the table
Got there to a different person had to point out the bags are under the table. And for convinence can your card machine be working because l hardly carry cash
Great day storage and affordable too. We stored our 3 suitcases and did some last sightseeing before we had to travel back to Johannesburg.

Excess Luggage sent a 475 lb. coffee table and 2 paintings from South Africa to Washington State, USA. They did a great job with preparing, packaging and following any requirements to be able to import to the US. Everything arrived in great shape, and even though there were a few delays (not their fault), they kept in touch and made sure everything went OK. I would highly recommend their services.

When I heard in January that I am becoming a grandmother, I immediately started knitting and getting a gift pack together for my grandchild.
The problem was that they are in the Netherlands and I in Mpumalanga. I contacted numerous courier services, but they were extremely expensive.
