I find this office incredibly helpful. Unfortunately in this case the laptop was not repairable but they made every effort which I appreciate. They also answered questions very promptly on email.

Above and beyond. Called in with a broken power button on my gaming laptop a week before Christmas. They picked it up on the Monday, called me on Tuesday to say the part would take a couple of weeks to arrive. Next day I get the call that they found the part sooner. Did a full keyboard replacement at a very reasonable price and had the computer back by Friday. Excellent communication throughout and I cannot recommend enough.

My computer would not connect to my home wi-fi. Not being confident with technology, I took it to Computer Assistance, Oxford. where the problem was quickly assessed and I was shown what to do on my return home. It worked! Thank you

Thank you so much. My SSD drive was completely damaged and missing important part of it . They managed to get my data back. Before going to them I called many data recovery companies and they told me there is no technology exists to solve your problem. Indeed computer assistance did with very good price. Thank you Computer Assistance for your reply to Michael Purches. We seem to have hugely different recollections of the sequence of events. There were no outstanding issues with the original build; it worked fine and I was well pleased with it. Indeed before taking it away, I demonstrated to your Mr Jack/D its perfect handling of my atypical requirements. AND sang your praises long afterwards to anyone interested! I am NOT raising unresolved issues from that time, there were none. But it did fail a long time later: no fault of yours, a corrupted Windows update I'm told. Understandably I brought it back to you for treatment, and only THEN did issues arise. Your hitherto excellent service had transmogrified from Dr Jekyll into Mr Hyde! In glaring contrast to my first experience, never could I ascertain the state of play, nor discuss anything technical: only get a parrot saying "it's not ready yet". And you sure did NOT complete the job: After three weeks of that, on the eve of your Xmas-to-January shutdown, with the prospect of nothing better to come, I demanded the return of my property as found. Your engineer is manifestly good; it's your customer interface that's gone to pot. You need another Jack/D, who was attentive and effective, and their combined efforts outstanding, M.

Hi there Michael. This appears to be related to a job from 8 months ago, that we completed. In this job, you had brought your PC back for an issue where your PC was stuck in a boot loop (wouldn't boot into windows, but also restarted every time it failed). You had originally collected this machine on the 31st July, 2020 and only brought to our attention the issues related to your PC 2 years later. Your setup was Dual-boot, with Windows 7 32bit AND Windows 10 64 bit. We had already informed you when we first built this machine that 32-bit Windows 7 will be missing drivers for your hardware, as the hardware was significantly newer than the operating system. This led to some USB ports being inoperable. This job was picked up by a technician almost immediately and the technician had also left a Voicemail to your phone, 1 day after this job was booked in. We were able to get a good majority of the issues resolved, but there were several remaining that were unresolvable, due to the requirements you had specified. You had not indicated an issues with the information that we had provided you, nor were any complaints made at the time, or even a few days after. When booking in a job under High Priority, we endeavour to start the work as soon as possible, but cannot guarantee that the repair will be a quick process. It is heavily reliant on the work that needs to be conducted, but we aim to complete this to the best of our ability, in a timely manner. In your particular case, there were a lot of specific requirements involved, which added to the time for the repair.

I cannot recommend Computer Assistance enough. I have used them for several years and I find all the staff really friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. Today I had a problem with potential hacking in my laptop. Following a phonecall, I was able to come in immediately for them to look at the potential problem which they diagnosed and sorted rapidly and efficiently. These people were brilliant, and built me a special machine to oddball requirements. They had a good engineer paired with a good front-of-house man (Jack), who discussed the problem, returned telephone messages, replied to e-mails, nothing too much trouble. After 18 months the machine failed, screwed by a Windows update, NOT their fault. Naturally I went back to them for help. Ye Gods have they changed! Jack's gone, and you just get fobbed off with "it's not ready yet" and "the engineer's not picking up" week after week after week. And that was their "Fast Track" ! Eventually I had to demand my property back and cut my losses.
