We had a lovely long weekend stay at Elk Lodge. Throughly enjoyed the atmosphere, the location, the grounds, and the breakfast!! And the proprietor was so helpful and kind. We will definitely stay again!

My fiancée and I visited this little spot for a romantic weekend getaway and it was fantastic! We walked in and couldn’t wipe the smiles off our faces as we had our first look around this vintage mansion. We booked massages on Saturday morning and the appointment was professional and amazingly relaxing - we felt like we were in a fantasy world! (Also the $75 romance basket is totally worth it!)

As much as I would love to give an amazing review, I can’t. This is an amazing historical home in dire need of repairs, maintenance, and cleaning. The windows and deck need cleaning. The tables in the dining room were dirty. Walking up the back stairwell was disheartening. It needs to be vacuumed and the carpeting needs a good cleaning. The entire house needs a fresh coat of paint. Our room was very nice, but the 5 bulb chandelier only had three working bulbs and was very dusty. The vent in the ceiling needs to be cleaned. The paint needs to be refreshed and the peeling walls repaired. The whirlpool was awesome. The bathroom was clean, and the bed was very comfortable. It’s time to put some money into this place and bring it back to its heyday. As the far as the “breakfast”, we could have had this at Comfort Inn. The one thing that makes Bed & Breakfast Inns stand out is their amazing breakfasts with pastries and homemade baked goods. This was a huge disappointment. If scrambled eggs are what you are serving then state that a continental breakfast will be served. The owner and his daughter were extremely nice. We wish you success.

I had a wonderful stay at Elk Forge Bed and Breakfast! I was traveling from Savannah to Philadelphia and needed a place to stay last minute as I was getting tired on the road. The host was incredibly accommodating and made the whole process easy and welcoming. My room was very clean, quiet, and comfortable — exactly what I needed after a long day of driving. Breakfast in the morning was amazing, and the innkeeper who prepared it was super friendly and thoughtful. The whole experience felt peaceful and relaxing. I definitely recommend this place to anyone passing through or looking for a charming and comfortable stay!

Had an incredible time working on the ponds at Elk Forge and staying the night in the Country Club room! The owners are amazing people. The breakfast room was my favorite to wake up to! The rooms hold beautiful history and energies! The outdoors here are peaceful and inviting! The food was spectacular and it made me feel right at home! I felt like I was soo taken care of! My boyfriend and I had the best getaway here.

Amazing people, very humbling. Love the area and historical views behind it. We stayed in a room with cathedral ceilings above the garages. We loved the room and Plan to bring the kids here sometime so they can check this state off of their list. Would definitely recommend!

The Elk Forge Inn is a place filled with beauty, charm, and sophistication. Every single room in the entire building has its own personality, from the stunning antiques, to the hand painted artwork on the walls (done by the owner's wife and a very talented Ukrainian artist), to the beautiful scenery. My husband and I booked a night here for a romantic getaway and purchased the romance add on. Our room was beautifully decorated with rose petals, candles, and a gift basket with Grey Goose stem glasses, a large bottle of apple cider, lotion, bath salts, chocolates, a sweet beanie baby, and more. The whirlpool bath was delightful. We got to share a few conversations with the kind owner. He makes you feel like you're part of the family (in a fun Grandpa kind of way, which is very nice) The Inn features a lovely free breakfast and choice of indoor or outdoor seating. There's even a room dedicated to selling stunning antiques and tea at an affordable price. My husband and I will be coming back for our anniversary!

I ordered a gift certificate for a Christmas gift for a couples massage lesson in early December and I received a confirmation email, but I never received the certificate. I called and emailed numerous times before finally receiving a response nearly a month later. They were unable to locate my order so I disputed the charge with my credit card company. They instructed us to place another order over the phone to avoid any issues between their online ordering system and their booking system. We did this on 1/24 and received another confirmation email, but again, we have yet to receive the certificate. I have sent numerous emails with no response. I would really like to support this business & was looking forward to giving a great gift, but unfortunately we have no reason to give them our business. I am very understanding to technological issues and mistakes, but the fact that they refuse to respond to emails or phone calls is absurd,.

We booked a room through Expedia as part of a trip to Longwood Gardens for their Winter Lights display. Since it was freezing outside, we planned to stop by the room first to change. About 30 minutes before our arrival, we got a voicemail saying a water pipe had burst, and they needed to cancel. Okay, no problem--we pivoted and went straight to Longwood Gardens. But before going in, we spent an hour in the parking lot searching for another B&B without any luck. We decided to enjoy the gardens anyway, and they didn't disappoint! If you've never been, you must visit in both spring and winter--it's incredible. Then, another voicemail came through saying the pipe issue was fixed, and the room was ready. I called back to confirm, but no one answered. It was now 10 p.m., so we headed to Elk Forge, unsure of what to expect. The room was... fine. Let's just say it could use a little TLC--paint peeling from the ceiling, for starters. When I turned on the faucet to wash up, there was no water. So much for that fixed pipe! Guess they just really wanted my money. The next morning, we went down for breakfast, hoping for a redeeming moment. Instead, we were met with something that felt like a knockoff Fairfield Inn breakfast: scrambled eggs, a waffle maker, juice, and some sad, expired-looking fruit. Looking back, I should've stayed at a Marriott. It would've been cheaper, had a bigger bed, better food, and--most importantly--running water. Lesson learned!
