This 17 course tasting menu was overall amazing. The trout appetiser and the warm cheesy ‘bread’ which they suggested to dip into the seafood bisque was delicious. They also had a few playful surprises which I won’t describe as I do not want to spoil the surprise for future diners. However I was disappointed with the prawn as the flavour didn’t seem to marry and the pork belly was not as tender as I would expect for a long and slow cooked dish.
The service staff were attentive and explained each dish well and how to eat the dish to extract the best flavours. The atmosphere was welcoming and I enjoyed watching the kitchen.

We took The Experience, and every single dish from start to finish was delicious. The execution of every dish was impeccable and each and every ingredient was allowed to shine. We could feel the “homey/comfort” food taste but at a Michelin-elevated state. The progression was also impressibe and each dish complemented the one before it. While each and every dish was amazing, there were three standouts: The quail dish (that rice was one of the best we’ve ever had), the truffle Buñuelos bite, and the gnocci dish (a substitute for the quail due to dietary restrictions in our party). Of course, the tree of life and the Bison were two other amazing dishes. We also tried the cocktails and they were also amazing, particularly the New York Sour and the cocktail with thyme. Our server Ashley was amazing. It is easy to see why this is a Michelin-rated experience, and it is one of the best in DC. We look forward to coming back in the future.

Our very high expectations for Elcielo were more than met. The prix fix menu was all very unique and very good. There was plenty of showmanship in the food and presentation. It made the evening interesting and memorable. Of course, the bill for 4 was eye watering to say the least, but we treat ourselves to Michelin dining from time to time, so the big tab was expected. The servers were total pros. The dining area was not presumptuous. While we might not rush back, we enjoyed our visit and are glad we tried it out.

Service is all right. The food is not tasty. Deco is not classic. Also not hygiene.

Hi Elcielo,
I am writing to express my disappointment regarding my recent experience with your restaurant.
I had a confirmed reservation for the 29th October 2025, however I was contacted and asked to attend the booking on the 30th or 31st October with no explanation provided as to why the change was necessary. Unfortunately, I was unable to attend on the alternative dates, and since then my messages have been ignored.
As I had already paid in advance, I am requesting a full refund. The lack of communication and failure to acknowledge my follow-up messages has been both unprofessional and quite frustrating. I believe clear and respectful communication is essential, especially when customers have made advance payments.
Please can you confirm the refund will be processed and advise when I should expect to receive it?
I would appreciate a response at your earliest convenience.
The restaurant is beautiful, but the service was cold and the pace also got very behind. We were probably the third table to sit in the evening and one of the last to leave. When we asked one of the servers what happened, they blamed it on me going to the restroom. I only went to the restroom once after they began their coffee service by placing trees on our table and then removing one of our trees to serve another table that was seated after us. When I returned from the restroom we had to continue waiting on them to finally begin the coffee service, and they didn't bring back the second tree until I asked. The server's response didn't make sense and it left us feeling less attended to than other tables. They had other mistakes in the service like using the wrong wine glasses and then correcting it by pouring the wine we already drank into another glass in front of us. The food was food okay, but nothing spectacular. When asked by the server at the end of the meal which was my favorite, nothing really stood out for me to even comment. I wouldn't return.
Excelente lugar, servicio y degustación! La comida del restaurante es una experiencia multisensorial. Una total delicia para los sentidos. Platos muy creativos, creados con ingredientes del país. Me encantó el servicio del mesero, conocía el contenido de los platos fué muy atento y nos brindó alternativas de diversos temas. Debí preguntar su nombre!
