We had PV put on the front roof of our house in May 2023 (south-west facing) and I wanted some more panels put on the back roof to supplement our output in the winter months and to provide more excess energy during the rest of the year for when we get an EV (free fuel for about 8 months probably).
EDC renewables were in the area (Nov 2023) and the follow-up visit was with John (the director). John is friendly and has great knowledge of renewables and renewable installation (he's worked in the sector for a long time) and he put my mind at ease regarding matching any new system with the PV Solar already installed. The EDC proposal was emailed quickly to me, very clear and detailed, and the price was competitive (the upgrade was not just for panels but an upgrade to our PV inverter which we would need due to the increase of power from the solar).
Once the contract was done the install was pretty quick (within two months including Xmas break). The team that installed the PV solar panels were some of the nicest workmen we've had at the house - very efficient at their job, minimal disruption and very conscientious about making sure that our neighbours could drive out easily if required during the install of the Solar panels, which took about half a day. The electricians finished their work the next day (so 2 day install maximum).
The new PV solar install works fine and has been matched easily with the app we use to monitor the solar panels on the previous install on the front of our house. The EDC Renewables office have been quick to respond to any queries that I have had since the install.
To sum it up - a really good reliable company, high quality standards of service and a great supporting admin team (also friendly) in case there are any queries. We would have no problem using the company again as EDC Renewables can upgrade batteries if required, EV charging points etc.

Excellent service through the whole process, from the initial visit for the system design review and proposal to completion of the Solar Generation system communication was very good.
The roofers had an initial issue with the unusual design of my roof. Which only became apparent when they started to remove some tiles. This issue was efficiently overcome and.all work was completed within the original schedule and budget which was truly great.
The lack of any pushy salesmanship was much appreciated. Everything was well explained from system components to installation work.
I would recommend to anyone considering a Solar Generation System make sure you get a quote from EDC Renewables.

I recently had a solar array and storage battery installed by EDC renewables. I had searched the local area for installers and checked reviews prior to contacting a number of local and national companies for quotes and advice. I was already fairly confident of what type of system i wanted installed. A number of companies give me quotes before i was visited by Dan who carried out a thorough review of my property and gave me several options.
I was later contacted by John who gave me another set of options and we agreed a price which was very competitive and the materials being supplied were exactly as i had requested.
John and his team kept me up to date and soon offered me an installation date which wasn’t suitable but they were very flexible and rearranged an installation date that suited me. It was also far quicker than dates that other companies had suggested to me.
The project manager kept me up to date with things and i was promised installation over a 3 day period, everyone arrived on time and worked solidly to install the system. The guys left the site in a clean condition everyday and the electricians ensured i was happy with everything and that the system was properly commissioned before finishing.
The roofers did a good job of using the edging to seal under the panels and also re pointed the ridge titles which had become dried out. The whole team were friendly very hardworking and respectful of my property throughout the installation. The weather was very hot during the installation but the team worked solidly throughout the day. (They do like their squash so get a bottle in before they start 😀)
I would highly recommend EDC Renewables for the fitting of Solar panels and storage batteries.

First class service from EDC Renewables from the design stage, help with the planning permission (BBNPA via EvansBank) through to install and commissioning. Planning permission was required as permitted development rights were removed due to being within the Brecon Beacons National Park.
Special thanks to the team of John, Gaz, Luke & Nat. Not the easiest of roofs to do the install, concrete slate, relatively steep pitch, 2 floors up and a full roof of panels.

John, good call on the TIGO optimisers, although there is no shading the azimuth of the roof would have caused issues without. Solar skirt fitted improves the visual appearance considerably, especially against the slate tiles.
Would not hesitate to recommend EDC Renewables providing competitive priced options without the hard sell.
The team demonstrated a very good understanding of the issues that arise on installation coupled with the knowledge and experience to handle to a very good professional standard. From the initial short period of operation the actual output exceeds the calculated by a good margin.
Looking forward to the successful removal of the scaffold to enjoy the full capability. AQW also added some nice new guttering to finish the job off.

Fantastic service from start to finish! I initially called John from EDC Renewables after a recommendation. From the first phone call, it was clear that EDC Renewables were passionate and extremely knowledgeable about solar PV and were able to schedule a survey within a couple of days for a solar and battery installation. I also found out that they were GivEnergy approved installers and I'd already seen plenty of positive reviews of the equipment on YouTube.
During the initial site survey, Daniel from EDC was able to answer my queries, took measurements and put in a lot of time and effort to explain various options on numbers of solar panels, placement of them on my hipped roof and optimal sizing of the batteries from my annual electricity usage as well as making the most of the system in summer and winter with potential options for energy tariff choices that would work and the pay back period. There was no hard sell at any point unlike some other solar companies that I had contacted. It was quite refreshing that I could reach a decision by myself!
All round great service during the installation from the scaffolders, roofers who installed the panels as well as the electricians. John visited after the install to give me a demonstration on the system features and he's always been on hand to answer any queries. Meticulous attention to detail everywhere you look - panels look great surrounded by the premium SolaSkirt bird proofing and the wiring is neat and tidy in conduit for the inverter and battery installation. I had a couple of minor issues along the way but these were all dealt with promptly by the team and I'm now enjoying lower energy bills with a highly configurable yet easy to use system.
I settled on 14 panels across two roof faces along with 2 x 9.5kWh batteries for storage of solar generation in the summer months and benefitting from a cheap overnight tariff in the winter months along with a double socket that can still be used during a power cut.
10/10 would recommend to all. The GivEnergy system is also for everyone from non technical to fully technical and anything in between.

Recently has solar and batteries installed. John and his team from EDC Renewables were spot on. There were some challenges - a new roof and scaffolding issues which were handled very well. A few issues with the roofers, but John was very approachable, working all hours to resolve snagging. Cost was the most competitive I've seen and I have been researching solar for about 6 months prior to committing. It's all up and running now and the app to view the details is clear and comprehensive and could keep a technically minded person very busy, should they wish! Thanks John

We first started looking for solar panels in May 2022, we exhausted ourselves with facts, figures and system set up. In April 2023 we finally have them. We had various companies phone, visit and virtual meetings. Doing your research is vital. We finally decided on EDC Renewables and are so glad we did. The system advice and predictions were a right fit for us. Cost was important but most of all the set up. I can thoroughly recommend EDC to anyone. Everything was done on time. Scaffolding, followed by electricians, installation of panels, electricians again, removal of scaffolding. All teams were on time courteous, friendly and most of all done a perfect job. Our system is now up and running and a final site visit from EDC to make sure everything was in place. We were amazed on how everything was so well organised. No dates were changed and the schedule was adhered to, to the day. Our system is now providing us with superb generation and cutting our bill already! Thankyou to John and his teams. We are so pleased. We now use the app and website to monitor what's happening with the panels and battery. It appears that the payback time will be sooner than expected. A truly great investment completed by a truly great company.

I tried a number of times over a 12 month period to secure advice and support for a solar and battery installation with no significant development. However having contacted John at EDC renewables it became clear that they were a company we could trust. He explained the principles and the practicalities and provided a clear and competitive quote. Having provided a number of potential references we were sure we had chosen wisely. John worked tirelessly to ensure that we were updated on any issues effecting installation and both the survey and installation were completed on time and to a high standard. There were a few small snagging issues on installation which we worked through with Johns support. Great communication and customer support throughout (and since). I would highly recommend EDC.
