I was really looking forward to dining at Duet, especially because it’s one of my girlfriend’s favorite restaurants, but unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing.
We started with the pork bao buns, which were surprisingly dry and lacked the tenderness and flavor I was expecting. I also ordered the short rib ragu pappardelle, and the dish simply didn’t deliver. The flavor and texture of the meat did not resemble short rib, and overall, the dish was underwhelming.
What was even more disappointing than the food was the service. Our waitress seemingly left in the middle of our meal without saying anything to us or letting us know that another server would be taking over. We sat unattended for approximately 20 minutes before I was finally able to make eye contact with another server. He immediately came over with our check, without any explanation of what had happened to our original waitress.
When I asked where our waitress had gone, my question wasn’t addressed. Instead, we were simply asked whether we wanted dessert. My girlfriend wanted the apple pie, so we ordered it. After waiting another 15 minutes with no dessert and no one checking on us, I eventually had to flag down a busser and explain that we had ordered something else. Only then was the dessert finally brought to our table.
What made the lack of service even more frustrating was that the restaurant was not particularly busy. There were only about five occupied tables at the time, so it was difficult to understand how our table could be left unattended for such long stretches without anyone noticing or checking in.
I completely understand that shift changes happen and that restaurants can occasionally have an off night, but basic communication and attentiveness should still be expected. Between the disappointing food, our server disappearing without explanation, the extended periods of being unattended, and having to repeatedly seek out staff ourselves, the experience fell well below what I would expect from a restaurant like Duet.
Considering how highly my girlfriend has always spoken of Duet, I genuinely wanted to enjoy the experience. Unfortunately, this visit left such a poor impression that I do not plan on returning.
We came on a Wednesday 08/26/26 when it’s 50% off your main courses and half of the main courses were not available. Our foods came out sporadically. Plus, we are waiting over now 35 minutes. Almost 40 minutes to be exact for our main course. unacceptable. I’m very sad. I used to come here for breakfast on Sundays and Service was excellent, but today’s dinner subpar.

We would like to provide a little additional context regarding the evening. Wednesday is usually an exceptionally busy night, with a high volume of both dine-in guests and takeout orders, largely due to the popularity of our 50% off main course promotion. As all of our dishes are prepared from scratch and made fresh to order, the unusually high volume unfortunately resulted in longer-than-usual wait times.
We also wanted to clarify a couple of points regarding the menu. While several items were in particularly high demand that evening, it was not the case that half of our main courses were unavailable. Filet mignon was the primary menu item we had sold out of. In addition, you requested three lobster bisques. As lobster bisque is a special item rather than part of our regular menu, we had only two portions remaining, and we were pleased to serve both to your table.
That said, we completely understand how frustrating it must have been to wait close to 40 minutes for your main course, particularly when the dishes did not arrive together. We sincerely apologize for the delay and for the inconvenience this caused. Regardless of how busy the restaurant may be, we know that our guests deserve clear communication, attentive service, and a well-paced dining experience, and we regret that we fell short in this regard.
We truly appreciate that you have joined us for Sunday breakfast in the past and have experienced the level of food and hospitality that DUET strives to provide.

Great place. Celebrated my daughters 14th birthday here and they made it extra special when we ordered the desserts. Filet mignon was Delicious! The drinks as well.

Ambience was nice drinks was good. French toast, apple pie and steaks was yummy. Everything made from scratch. Ill definitely go there again

I came in ready for a show with my gear on my back with a gorgeous sequin outfit, maybe a little frazzled because it was absolutely pouring outside. I wanted to try one of their delicious desserts.
I walked up to the bar where the desserts were and got ignored, a server walked directly behind me didn’t say a word. I kept trying to say hello kindly just to kind of see if they would respond. A simple “we will be right with you” would have sufficed but it was multiple hellos before I got acknowledged in the proper manner.
There was literally like two or three tables. And most of the restaurant had open tables.
Then when I asked if I could see a dessert menu and sit the guy said there’s no menu for the desserts I was looking at so he would tell me what’s in them. So I inquired about a few and they made a suggestion I said yes to because they said it was a favorite. Then when I asked to sit at a table they wanted to sit me in the waiting area instead of a regular table. It’s not like I was looking like a crazy person off the street. One guy with glasses even came in and gasped like he was scared to see me. Like… do well dressed people wanting to pay money for a dessert at your food establishment scare you?

Super lame that I couldn’t just try a stupid dessert and sit like a normal person. I ubered there specifically to enjoy a few minutes before my show having something tasty.
He even seemed surprised when I agreed to pay $13 for it. The condescending attitude I got as a stranger walking into this place for the first time was awful. Management needs to do some serious retraining.
I had to walk down the street to Samarkand Nights to get some dessert, fantastic service, and a table.
Desserts Deluxe!!!! Labeling the carrot cake superb is a complete understatement. The little mini cake is moist and velvety in flavor. The cream cheese icing adds another layer of character that's embodied in this tiny confection. It paints a perfect picture by looking as good as it tastes. I also recommend the whole wheat croissants. If asked to Compare this croissants to the ones I've had in Paris 3 months ago, I'd happily say that Duet's croissants can declare victory!

I can't say enough about the food, the atmosphere, the service, and the hospitality at Duet. We're long time patrons that have been going to Duet for years. We love their brunches, the oyster nights, and the lobster nights. Their Mongolian beef, the beef tartar, and the lardon salad among many other dishes are just to die for! The service is always on point without being intrusive, the quality of the food is always top notch and the presentation is always truly unique. But all this was topped last week when I called the restaurant less than two days before our wedding day and requested to cater a dinner to about 40 closest family and friends. The owner told me not to worry about a thing and handled absolutely everything from A to Z. The main room of the restaurant was dedicated solely to us and had the most amazing ambiance. The food was abundant and absolutely incredible as always. The tables were set with red napkins and beautiful red candles. The owner asked me to send him a picture of myself and my husband and our guests were completely blown away when they saw this picture appear on top of their cappuccino foam. It was surely a night to remember and I have Duet to thank for all of it! Keep up the incredible work you've been doing - we love it! ❤️

Why can't this restaurant be kinda to there customers.you have 50 pct off most entrees which is yes nice,so I order 2 pasta plates with short ribs .so I like your red roasted potatoes ,I ordered a 3 rd entree chicken cutlets ,but says mashed pot,all I asked an hv done before is switch it for red potatoes? Both are tech pot ,the price on menu exact .1 st new nice waitress says no but gets head waiter? I assume? He told me the CHEF said no. Its a weds night ,you had like 5 tables only filled its summer time business is slow ,why not keep a customer happy?I am happy you responded to me being upset,please note you hv done this for me on a wed in past,further more I bought 3 entrees,plus what customers r going to know if you had done it.

We have to apply these rules consistently to every guest.
The reason is that if we make exceptions for one table, other guests understandably expect the same treatment. We've experienced situations where customers returned on later Wednesdays expecting substitutions because they had been accommodated previously, and on busy nights it becomes difficult to explain why we can no longer do it. To be fair to everyone, we've adopted a consistent policy.
Our side dishes are available separately for $8, and with the Wednesday promotion, most main courses are already priced at under $20 after the discount, making it one of our best-value specials of the week.
We certainly weren't trying to make your experience unpleasant, and we hope you'll understand that our team was simply following the restaurant's policy. We genuinely appreciate your business and hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back again soon.

Had my baby’s first birthday here and it was absolutely amazing. The waiters were all so helpful and attentive. The food was delicious and there was SOOOO much food!!! Loved it!

My family held a surprise 50th birthday party for me at duet. They were accommodating from start to finish. Food, service 10/10. Would highly recommend for a private event.
