An easy way to get yourself on Derwentwater lake and enjoy the views if you don't have your own kayaks etc. at a fair price. £40 for a 2 person canoe for 2 hours. If you have a dog who'll be happy and comfortable in the boats/ water etc. you can take them too. Staff were friendly and helpful, booking online first makes it a little cheaper but you can book there if needs be. Most of the time the water is surprisingly shallow, a foot or less, but at times gets fairly deep, more than the oars. There is a little cafe down the road if needs be as well. Worth a trip!

We had a fabulous morning as a family kayaking on Derwent Water. The staff were friendly and helpful and our kayaks were great. We were blessed with incredible weather! A really fun way to spend a couple of hours and a fab way to take in the beauty and majestic of the Lake District.

Staff couldn’t do more to help us. We hired wet suit, wind proof jacket , life jacket and paddle boards. They gave some really good advice and tips. We had a great time despite the weather

Very nice

Derwent water is very near to Keswick town. To travel lake district, Keswick can be considered as the staying option. There are many lodges, BnBs are available in Keswick town. But most of them prefer to deal in cash. There are also quite a number good restaurants here, some of them serving Chinese and Thai food.
