Providers at this location are subpar. 1st person I saw mentioned she was going back to school for another degree and seemed a bit checked out, not taking much time to look at my skin's problem areas.
I scheduled a 2nd appointment with another provider. She missed an obvious diagnosis (lice with scalp and shoulder irritation) and instead suggested expensive allergy testing at a Derm Inc location and an expensive prescription through a pharmacy they receive kickbacks from for referral.
I'd had lice for over month at the time of my appointment. I have 2 children in daycare so was at high risk. She should have easily caught that at the advanced stage. I'll only schedule with Dawes-Fretzin group in the future.
I’ve been seeing Dr. Hanover for a few years now and really like her. She’s super knowledgeable, listens to my concerns, and has an upbeat bubbly personality which makes the visits feel less like a chore. She has great bedside manners and I appreciate her being conversational during full body checks which could otherwise be considered awkward. I would highly recommend booking with her specifically!
Try to schedule an appt and you'll see why I rated it 1 star. You will wait on hold forever. Person that answers the phone could not care any less about your issue or concern. No emergency appts available. I was told - "go to an urgent care." Gee, thanks. Sorry to bother you.
I've been a patient here for almost a year. Everything about this place is unprofessional. Gladly take my business elsewhere.
I want to help others avoid these people. I had simple basil cell surgery on my nose. The spot was the size of a pin head on the bottom of my nose. The TOTALLY incompent surgeon cut my nose from base to bridge and the results have been horrible. I have had 3 surgeries since trying to fix their mistake but no one can fix it.
Consider doing your own surgery before you go to these people posing as medical professionals.
Despite the problems this terrible organization never reached out, never attempted to fix their problem.
In addition to the horrible results the "doctors" (a bunch of foreigners who didn't even speak proper english) were rude and their skill set was minimal at best.
Horrible place.
The story of my 23 year old son-
2 suspicious moles on his back
Got an appointment fairly quickly
Tuesday- 5-10 minute with dr where she told him "one I'm not sure about. The other is a probable melanoma"- who says that to anyone- let alone a young person, without any pathology to confirm. He Was then told "it may be up to 2 weeks to get results. Someone will call you. ". Also when he asked about scanning for more suspicious spots she said " you are not scheduled for a scan and we're 3 months out. Call for an appointment" - now what in the world!! One minute she prematurely diagnosing melanoma without pathology the next she has no time to check the rest of his body??? What kind of patient care is that?
Friday- he was called with pathology and told it was a stage 1 melanoma. Very matter of fact. Zero empathy or explanation. He's 23 and clueless. This has scared him to death She also said He would hear from a surgeon for removal next week. After removal they would know next steps "like if you need radiation or something.." a young MA- very unprofessional. So matter of fact. And told the matter was urgent. Apparently not too urgent.
Fast forward to following week- Thursday we have heard from no one. Not Derm Inc. not the surgeon. Took it upon ourselves to find a second opinion and a surgeon at IU health got us in immediately after Derm Inc finally released his chart to them.
Derm Inc- kindly educate your staff on professionalism and throwing around words like "melanoma, cancer, radiation" may seem normal to you all but to the lay person it's devastating. Come on. Have some decency.
Side note- I, his mother, have been a patient at Derm inc for a decade and will never go back or recommend to anyone. You're a derm farm that only cares about money and zero concern for patient care. Churn them in, push them out.
I am extremely disappointed with the quality of care I have received on two occasions at this office. During appointments, the time with the doctor is very rushed and I felt my concerns were not heard. If you are seeking a dermatologist who will take time with you to listen and discuss options of treatment, go elsewhere.
Dr. Launhardt was rude and condescending. I've never had a physician speak to me that way. I would have looked past the less than friendly and confused receptionists, but I can't look past a poor patient experience. I clearly communicated info from a previous provider and my concerns/needs for the visit; in return the doctor was aggressive and snarky. For example, when examining me she didn't say anything about findings, as my past docs always have. Afterwards, when I asked her if she saw anything of note, she said, "No, I would have told you" in a tone suggesting I was out of line for asking questions about my health/body. I would not recommend this doctor or this office at all.
My son has hemangioma so we go there. We went there twice. They told me to send messages if I have any questions. I have sent so many messages in patient portal, call them and left voice mail couple of times. They didn’t reply and even did not call back. On our first visit the way Doctor handle the baby was not nice. Looks like Doctor is always in rush.
