Kevin and his crew has really impressed us with their expertise and how they truly support local environments. They are a great source for native plants, they support the local communities. Critical Site donated 20 local shade trees for an Boy Scout Eagle Project (Troop 1160), which helped Raymore-Peculiar's High School cross country area. They helped select 4 different varieties that would thrive in the planted areas. They also shared their knowledge and experience for best ways to support natural habitats and mitigate problem situations that you might have. Even when you pull into their location, it is wonderful to see how they use local plants and pollinator flowers in the way nature intended. We can't recommend them enough, and we will definitely be using them regularly in the future.

Very excited to find CritSite! I needed a huge quantity of starter plugs and they had the variety I wanted at a reasonable cost. Their staff is knowledgeable and helpful. I immediately recognized the native flowering plants all around their property and appreciated the natural look, and the butterflies and bees flying around. It's helpful to see some of these at their full mature size. Plus this told me they know exactly what they are doing with native plants!

I am a frequent shopper at Critsite for native garden projects at my kids' school and at my own home. They have a huge selection of native plants at reasonable prices, and they are friendly and helpful in fielding questions and requests. Pollinator gardens, woodland gardens, rain gardens--whatever your native garden vision might be, they have the plants!

Native plant beds prioritize ecological structure over formal geometry, intentionally allowing plants to cluster, interlock, and self-seed according to their natural growth habits rather than remaining confined to neatly spaced planting or strict height tiers. Because native species evolve to fill ecological niches, they naturally exhibit varied textures, asymmetrical branching, dynamic heights, and seasonal transitions—such as going to seed or standing dormant through winter—that stand in contrast to the heavily pruned, uniform sizing, and heavy mulching typical of conventional planned garden beds or manicured landscaping plans. So, the "wild" look of our grounds is by design.

Great place to get local native plants for butterflies, bees and hummingbirds. Low priced ($2) small plants that are planted in starter dirt. Cover larger areas with a lot of plants, but you have to be a bit patient while they grow a bit. I've been back there multiple times. Always satisfied.
