Super disappointed. I made a reservation for 7:15 and had to wait outside (!!!) until 8pm to finally leave as my table was still not ready.
Cannot judge on the food (pretty sure it's delicious).
But the restaurant is super small, noisy and the staff not very friendly.
The admin must change the way he manages staff and reservations.
This is one of the best Italian meals I’ve had in a while. We were going to see Stevie Nicks at the Barclay center and we were in a rush… I made a reservation, but we let them know when we got there that we needed to move quickly and the servers delivered.
The food here is incredible. I am sorry that I did not take photos. First of all they make their own bread and it is insane. It’s a delicious granular soft whole wheat bread with a fabulous crust. The lasagna is second to none. The whole fish was delicious. We had Seabass. Everything was amazing and to top it off the tiramisu was the best I have ever had. It’s evident that they make all their food in house and that it is made by somebody who is extremely talented‼️
Came here for the gnudi. Off the menu. Service was very slow. We were there for 2 hours to complete meal. The lasagna was salty but okay.. Lamb was overdone & very meager meat. The only positive, the waiter did not charge us for the dessert & coffee because we complained. Will not return. .
The food was wonderful. Had the Cacio e Pepe which was superb and hard to find in restaurants these days. The service was exemplary and we were allowed to linger without any pressure. We have been going here since they opened years ago and he food has remained of a very high quality. As usual we will be back!
What a shame! This restaurant used to have excellent food. We waited an hour in an empty restaurant for some of the worst pasta we’ve ever tasted. The cacio e pepe was somehow watery (?), extremely bland, and inedible enough that I only had a couple of bites and went home to have some takeout from the fridge instead. The staff seemed consistently confused and service was agonizingly slow. I wondered why this place is often empty — don’t find out the hard and expensive way like we did :)
It was our first time dining at Convivium Osteria and I don’t know how it took us so long to get there! We had a really delicious meal. The service was warm and hospitable from the moment we walked in to the moment we left.
We started with a meat board and Ceasar salad. Both were delicious! We then had the seafood Linguine (so full of flavor, perfectly seasoned) and the spinach gnudi (little pillows of heaven).
The atmosphere is exactly what you want from a neighborhood Italian restaurant. We will be back!
Service was really bad and the food was unconscionably slow. Worse than that half of the main courses came out 20 minutes after the other half. The excuse was the kitchen was confused. There was only one other party there. Also, they had only a single beer, not the ones on the menu. Overall, very disappointing.
I came to the establishment for a birthday dinner. I arrived a bit early before the rest of the party due to knowing I needed to borrow a pen to sign the birthday card.
I asked 3 servers if I could borrow a pen to quickly sign the card, but all seem to “forget”. The restaurant was not busy but I passed it off as mistakes happen.
Later on the birthday dinner is getting started, I head downstairs and wait for the remaining few women to arrive. Everything is going well, they start to pour the wine for the table, a gentleman tells me excuse me senior and I immediately look at him like excuse me!
He apologizes for using the wrong pronoun, and again I’m like we are humans we make mistakes.
Until it’s time to place our order for dinner and the same server again calls me senior. At this point I’m irritated, the entire table is
women. So I ask why did you keep referring to me using the wrong pronouns even after being corrected? He says oh I’m sorry. I am at a birthday dinner so I don’t make a huge deal out of it.
Then the food comes and it was mediocre at best. A few of the ladies have previously been here and stated the food used to be significantly better.
Today I’m chatting with the ladies in the group chat and find out I’m not the only woman at the table that was called senior more than once which lead me to leave this review.
