I originally went to see Thorunn many years ago from a recommendation from a family member. So glad I did! Always had a really great experience. Thorunn has helped me with many different issues and always been so knowledgeable and thoughtful. When I have seen other members of the team I have also always received the same amazing level of care. Everyone is very friendly and love Jo on reception! Recommended to all my other family members who are now also clients, so glad we have this in Wivenhoe when we need them.
After years of frustration and lack of help with GP with an overuse issue in my hand Simon was fantastic and took a lot of time to figure out out the specific issue and steps to finally get it fixed. Very happy with my experience and recommend to anyone who have overuse issues in their hands.
Simon is without doubt the most thorough and helpful osteopath I have ever seen. Spent over 12 months and lots of money seeing other osteopaths with misdiagnoses and no improvement. 2 sessions in with Simon and we have already diagnosed the issue and are working on a rehab plan and making progress already. My son saw Simon 13 years ago, as a very young baby, for cranial osteopathy as he was having trouble sleeping. It worked wonders when we had lost hope of ever sleeping again!
In the past 3 months, Simon has also successfully treated my son for Osgood Schlatter disease using Shockwave treatment.
Personally, I have recently seen Simon for treatment to a lower back injury, which was causing me quite a bit of discomfort.

They fixed my back, neck etc! Fantastic, then follow up appointments with the MRI machine at Turner Rise, then great assessments, and the acupuncture and ultrasound treatments and shock therapy. My sciatica came with a vengeance, and with good diet, exercise and treatment, it has disappeared 100%. Another MRI visit booked 2 months later and I hope its nearly gone... good diet and exercise and lifestyle choices are key. Therapy is only part of the picture...
I have been seeing Simon for treatment of Chronic tension headaches and I would like to say how much I appreciate his holistic approach to mind and whole body connectivity in relation to the headache. The treatment, as well as exercises given to practise at home, is proving effective and I feel I am making progress!
Simon's practice came as a recommendation through another service and I couldn't be happier. I see Simon himself and couldn't ask for a more friendly and professional consultant. I'd recommend Simon time and time again, going above and beyond expectations, his experience and therapies have got me mobilised and back to what I love most.

Lovely place with very nice staff. Always great service and I never have any doubt that I'll walk away feeling better. I have seen Simon several times now over a course of a couple of years and he is always very thorough. It is obvious when you start speaking to him that he knows his stuff and on my first meeting I instantly felt reassured. For me it was a big decision coming to see an Osteopath as it was not something I'd done before. I definitely made the right choice.

While I've been training for the London Marathon, I've experienced a hip injury and a few niggling aches and pains for which I sought treatment from Simon.
I always receive a friendly welcome from the practice's receptionist, Jo, who does her best to fit me in for an appointment at a time that suits my busy schedule.
I've been to a few different osteopaths from different practices and Simon, by far, carries out the most thorough examination to determine the cause of pain and its impact.
He uses various methods to work on my areas of pain - acupuncture, ultrasound, manipulation, massage, etc. - I always leave feeling lighter, more flexible and so much happier. Simon just seems to know what to do and consistently demonstrates his extensive knowledge and experience, combined with a precise and gentle touch.
I don’t think I would be running the marathon without his magic hands!
I have been treated by Simon Bacon for about 15 years for a mid-back injury and now neck problem. I knew from experience that he was very good, of course, but I hadn't quite realised how skilled he is at gently manipulating the spine until a few years ago, when I had to see another osteopath while abroad. My back was stuck: this other person tried several times to manipulate it and ended up applying significant force before I told him to stop as it became clear to me that this was going nowhere. When Simon does it he places his hands and fingers so skillfully that a very modest application of force (basically just part of his body weight) is enough to obtain the desired result. He has a very sensitive touch and can literally feel where the pain is. Generally he has a minimalist, gentle approach focused on helping the body to heal itself rather than on trying to force recovery. I don't know what I would do without him.
