Informations du site officiel du palais trompeuse: nous avons reservé 5 places à 280€ pour la visite du site. Une fois sur place, on nous annonce que les places prises nous donnent seulement accès aux jardins du palais et que pour pouvoir voir l’intérieur un supplément de 80€ est requis en extra. Il n’est pas possible de réserver seulement l’intérieur du palais en ligne et sans avoir préalablement payé les visites extérieurs. Cette information doit être clairement énoncé sur le site pour ne pas tromper le client. Les jardins ne valent pas 280€, loin de là, et pour 360€ toute la visite nous nous attendions à mieux.
Hagia Sophia is one of the greatest architectural achievements of the Byzantine, or Eastern Roman, Empire. Completed in 537, it transformed the history of architecture and continues to inspire visitors nearly 1,500 years later.
The interior is unforgettable, especially the extraordinary combination of Christian mosaics, Islamic calligraphy, vast domes, marble surfaces, and centuries of historical detail. This unique layering reflects the many chapters of the building’s long and complex history.
Once the upper-gallery renovations are complete, it is well worth visiting that level to see the magnificent mosaics more closely. Although some original features, including parts of the historic marble floor, are currently protected or covered, the scale and beauty of the building remain breathtaking.
Hagia Sophia has survived earthquakes, political changes, and the passage of centuries, yet it still stands proudly over Istanbul. One visit is enough to understand why it is considered one of the most important and beautiful buildings ever created.

Underwhelming
Compared to the Dolmabache Palace the Topkapi is average but still should be visited to understand why a new palace was needed to be built. The standout was the Harem which gave one a good understanding of living conditions in the palace. The grounds are huge and gardens are improving. The free audio didn’t work very well… disappointing. The views from the treasury terrace are beautiful overlooking the Bosphorus. Don’t forget to go to the coffee exhibition and clock museum. I visited this palace 30+ years ago, it has improved over this time. If you have a financial or time constraints visit the Dolmabache Palace instead.. it’s amazing.

Like Stepping Into a Movie Set
It feels surreal, like something out of a movie 🎬 – an experience that should be enjoyed to the absolute fullest: a magnificent palace housing a very unique collection of artefacts and treasures that just takes your breath away ✨. Walking through the halls, you can almost imagine what life was like for the sultans back in the day, and every single room has something amzing to discover, from the jewels to the ornate décor. It's honestly one of those places that photos just don't do justice to, you really have to see it in person to understand the scale and beauty of it all. Definitely worth the visit if you're in Istanbul, and I'd recommend giving yourself plenty of time to explore everything since there's so much history packed into one place. A must-see for anyone who loves history, culture, or just wants to feel like royalty for a day!
