Real cheap with sample eye drops. Went today to get my eyes checked seen dr Lindsey adams .To me she dose not have a good bedside manner. She would not let me talk and would not even offer a sample eye drop bottle..telling me go to cvs and buy what u like...mind u dr Sloan and his surgery staff were excellent..Did not care for her she needs to listen to the patients..think I will be going somewhere else especially if I had to see her...by the way keep ur little bottle of eye drops elcheapo....

I recently had cataract surgery on both of my eyes performed by Dr.McGaughy and I couldn't be happier with the experience. From the very first consultation appointment, Dr. McGaughy took the time to clearly explain the procedure and answer all of my questions. On both days of the surgery’s, everything went smoothly. The surgery center's staff was kind and professional. Dr.McGaughy made sure I understood each step of surgery. My vision has been dramatically improved - it's like seeing the world with new eyes! Colors are brighter and objects are sharper. I'm so grateful to Dr. McGaughy and the staff for this life-changing procedure. They have my highest recommendation for anyone seeking cataract surgery.

My mother is leaving this practice for good because of long waits and incredibly rude staff at the front of the establishment. The doctors are great and the nurses in the back are great but the staff up front that deals with the scheduling, the records and the billing are the rudest I have ever seen. A couple of times we have gone to the Little River office just because the staff is much more civil and the wait was very short.

Finally saw the eye doctor (who was supposed to be a retinalogist-WAS NOT) at 5:16 pm, my appointment was 3pm! This eye group had no idea what they were doing - everyone we came in contact with appeared to be either in a dither and confused, or disinterested in professionally achieving their assignments. We found that the Dr. was new that day - He, though somewhat cordial, gave me a few short minutes, AND I WAS DONE! After being over 2 hours late - he without apology, says the holdup was that their staff mixed up the films. Then he sat down and said "everything looks fine" - without yet having looked into my eyes. I am blind in one eye and have macular degeneration in the other - this was not to be a casual visit. I've been to many eye doctors in my life, and this "group" was not good - I'm looking for a new retinalogist...sorry.

First time and my last with dr Burt. I don’t recommend I have dry eye and it’s been awful the nurse already gave me dialton drops which was never told to me on the appt he did twice I was working on my break. He really didn’t seem to care since he was the only dr with all the power for the patients. He never really gave a good intro they have a protocol sheet for dry eye. My options went from super expensive to prescription drops ie restasis. I asked how long on these drops once start I cannot give you an answer 6 months or more? How much not on Medicare or I’m not 70 like other cataract patients I’m 42 no clue of cost he said I’m sure ins will cover . I asked what about a lapse in insurance and I can’t cover the cost. Then he said to avoid all inflammation in the eye don’t wear contacts I told him I have my whole life 27 yrs. He said get used to glasses permanently wearing your contacts again will make what we do a waste of money and back to square one. I was devestated and left in tears. It was awful.

To start, I did like my Dr., but this one star is because of the horrible attitude of Jacquelin at the front of the office. The office sent the wrong prescription eye drop to pharmacy and cost me money to buy the eye drop that didn’t work well for me. I went back to the office the same afternoon and spoke to Jacquelin to explain to her that this eye drop was the wrong one which was prescribed before but didn’t work well for my eye problem so the dr. Switched to a better eye drop ever since and I have been getting the right eye drop from this office ever since, but somehow even when I told the right name and spell out the name of the right eye drop to the dr. and his assistant at the dr’s visit that day, I was still being prescribed the wrong eye drop. Jacquelin kept refusing to admit the error and kept to say it wasn’t the wrong prescription and all I had to do was to drop more of it every day to work. No, drop more didn't control the flare in my eye and that’s why the dr. switched me to the better eye drop before. She refused to give me a little $20 credit towards my next dr visit fee (I’m paying out of my own pocket) and said: “all we can do is if you want we can re- prescribe you the right eye drop.” If I want? The right eye drop was all I wanted to begin with and that eye drop was why I paid to see the dr. to begin with. And all you can do? It’s not about the $20, it is the principle, your office made mistake then own it and compensate your patient correctly.

I had an issue with my eye that required attention. On a Saturday morning I reached out to Coastal Eye Group and was directed to Dr. Carl Sloan who took the call and met with me in Myrtle Beach. He diagnosed the problem and provided me with full (and successful) support. I fully endorse and most highly recommend Dr. Carl Sloan!

Doctors over book their patients. No consideration of patients time. Waited over an hour for them to even call grandmothers name. Update: have been here for over 2 hours. It is now 5:22pm they close at 5pm. Terrible. Avoid if you can or get AM appointment (although I heard the wait time is just as bad).

I had an appointment this week for 11:50 I was taken back on time and the nurse did all of my testing in one room and then took me back to the exam room where she dilated my eyes I remained in this room for the next hour 20 minutes before I got up and left I asked one of the nurses in the hall how much longer was it going to be and she said the doctor had gone to a meeting and he was on his way back. I waited another twenty minutes it was 1:20 I got up and left and went to the front the receptionist and then the office manager tried to convince me to stay because my eyes were already dialeted I tried to explain to them that my husband had been in the car for almost 2 hours and hat we could not wait any longer. He is a diabetic and I was concerned that he needed to eat. I never received an apology for the length of time it was but I did get a lot of attitude - this was in no way acceptable. I have my eyes dilated before and it takes only 30 minutes. This was unacceptable service from your office Dr Frank Sloan - ya need to take a second look on how to treat your patients,

I was very disappointed with the front end women. First of all as you sign in they never notice who you are. There’re first response was take a seat. Not asking if you need help!! The fat teased blonde hair woman was very rude as was the black woman. When I checked in (the fat teased blonde hair woman) couldn’t wait to tell the black woman I was checked in. Seems they had a reason to notice I was there. I really needed help from Jenifer but she didn’t respond to my questions!! They didn’t feel that my concern the cost of prescriptions was any concern of them. Please note I was really upset. When I finally got to see Dr Alex ( after waiting an hour) I told him that the high cost of prescriptions made it impossible to refill. His response was (I’m not responsible for the high cost). He realized I couldn’t afford the medicine and said if I don’t use the eye drops he wasn’t going to do surgery. Followed by you have refills and no need for samples. REALLY??? I recently was told that many samples are given to patients. I guess Dr Alex didn’t feel I needed a sample. Anyway this experience was totally the worst I’ve ever experienced. Don’t go there.

Called November 3 for appt. for cataract surgery. Sent them paperwork and i called back 3 times to find out status. Put off each time. They called Dec. 17 and i missed the call and caled back in 10 mins and got voicemail and left a message. So i called back on dec. 20th and told they had no paperwork. They would investigate and get back to me. They called again Dec. 22. Said they called me 3 times and i had no vouce mail set up. Couldnt get me in til march 18 and im leaving myrtle April 18 so that would not work as need 6 weeks after each eye. So no Cat. Surgery. I got off the phone and checked my phone and voicemail from them on Dec. 17. So no 3 phone calls. I feel like i got the run around and the lady i talked to was curt and basely blaming me. What a shame this group has one lady working for them with poor skills dealing with customers.

I had a smooth sailing experience with cataract surgery with Dr Carl Sloan and his staff at Myrtle Beach. He was thorough in the decision making processes and I would recommend him to anyone seeking Cataract surgery in the Myrtle Beach Georgetown area.

I first met Alex McGaughy, MD, at Costal Eye in Murrells Inlet office. At that time I had an eye infection in my right eye. He worked with me with eye drops and oral antibiotic. It took some time for it to clear up. In February I had a follow up appointment in Murrells Inlet regarding my glacuma, and to check my eye pressure. I shared that my right eye had been infected again. I was told I would have to see Dr McGaughy in Myrtle Beach Costal Eye for treatment. I did follow up with Dr McGaughy in March. He was kind and very informative. He remembered me from my other visits. Explained how this type of infection can be reoccurring. I saw him again a week later, his office called and got an appointment for me to see another doctor who could help with a tear duct procedure in Georgetown. He said I hope this help you and if it does, you shouldn't have to drive out hear again. I would reccomend this doctor.
