I got a pre-purchase inspection on a Volvo v90 and am a bit disappointed that they didn’t catch that my upper torque mount was split. It’s hard to miss honestly. I should have looked myself.
(UPDATE): After several calls and emails with staff over a years time I have yet to "have the owner approve the refund". Whether intentional avoidance or complete incompetence It's unacceptable. lowering my rating to 1 star.
As pre-purchase inspections are allotted an hour of time, it is impossible to catch every single item on a vehicle that needs to be repaired. Our technicians do notate obvious repairs in addition to the multi-point inspection checklist. We can only assume that the split was not visible to the technician during the pre-purchase inspection and therefore was not noted. In the future, we would appreciate the opportunity to have a conversation about the concern before leaving a less than stellar review which cannot be removed or edited.

Repeat customer - I’ve had 2 different BMWs and an Audi here and have no complaints whatsoever. Assuming you own an import car and have dealt with those import car dealerships, Clayton imports is my preferred alternative for knowledgeable, affordable and certainly hospitable service. Any repair is easier and cheaper to do yourself, which is why most repair shops contend with those that feel they overpaid for something they could have done themselves AFTER the fact. I had a problem that I self diagnosed as plugs and ignition coils. After replacing them myself, the problem persisted, so I took it to Clayton imports. Though it was hard to believe that 2 of the 4 new coils purchased from a local parts store could be bad, that was the diagnosis. They made the repair and lo and behold, problem fixed. I could have saved myself about $400 and a lot of frustration had I taken it here first. Now to try to get a refund/credit for the poor quality coils from the parts store.

Had a busted transmission and couldn’t afford to break the bank. The Clayton imports crew were very honest and professional and understood my needs and took care of my vehicle and got it back on the road as good as new. Definitely will be bringing back my business here again!!!

Car was hesitating to start, they recommended a starter. Wasn’t the starter, then they say fuel pump. It wasn’t either thing and bill me 2,800$ to “fix” another problem. I went to pick up my car after I denied services, the video below shows how I found my car. Do not take your car to this shop. They’ll fix one thing and screw up the rest of your car.

I paid approximately $1,500 for a timing belt job that was not done correctly, as the vehicle had oil leaking down the crankshaft cover and oil pan when I returned home.
I brought it back to the shop, and they determined that there was no issues with the job they did, as they claimed that there was no oil leaking after working on it a second time?
The vehicle is still leaking and has been for months.
I finally brought the vehicle to another shop, and they determined that the oil is leaking from behind the crankshaft cover where the timing belt job was done.
I'm now faced with paying another shop another $1,500 to do the timing belt job correctly.
I believe a full refund would be appropriate for a job that was done incorrectly.
Our work carries a 12 month/12,000 mile warranty. When the client returned about two weeks after the timing belt replacement, the technician could not identify the source of the oil leak due to excessive oil residue. The technician cleaned the oil residue and added UV dye to the oil. The client was asked to return to the shop when the oil leak returned so that we could identify the source with the UV light as the client was unable to leave the vehicle for the technician to complete the inspection. Prior to today, the client has neither contacted the shop to let us know the oil leak returned nor returned with the vehicle as we asked. Therefore, we were not given the opportunity to inspect the vehicle and honor our warranty should there be a problem with a part from the original repair. Our warranty is still valid and the client is welcome to bring the vehicle back at their convenience.

I was going to take my bmw 750LI there, but I changed my mind, because how rude the guy upfront was.
The client called and asked if his vehicle had been towed to our shop. The man that answered the phone told the client that the vehicle was not present and that he should call the towing company to inquire where they dropped his car. The office manager was present during the phone call and the employee was not rude to the client. It was unfortunate that the towing company did not deliver the vehicle to correct automotive repair shop.

Not really happy with the service,
Made an appointment for a diagnosis on an engine light, quoted at $140 plus tax.
I tried to explain to them all the things I have done to the car to try to repair the same light problem. The gentlemen couldn't care less of what I was saying.
Waited an hour and the gentlemen said I had an oil leak that was causing smoke and that the light was caused by a downstream sensor and not an upstream sensor.
Ok with that.
They suggested some really expensive repairs even though I was just going for the diagnosis, I said I was going to save money before doing the repairs.
He Wrote me up for diagnosis, didn't write the computer codes on the diagnosis document either,
I paid $140 + $9 taxes and $11 shop fees??
Well, I paid, I said "thank you" twice.
Was completely ignored by man turning his back on me.
I felt it was a bad experience coming here. Overall.
Honest feeling, I lost my time and money here.

I purchased my car in 2022 along with an extended warranty. When a problem arose I took it to the dealership. They ran a diagnostic scan but could not repair the car because they do not have a contract with the warranty company. There was no charge. I took the car and dealership scan to Clayton Imports. They said they would have to run another diagnostic scan($130). The repair was not covered under warranty so I just paid it. 150 miles and one week later the same problem occurred. They said they needed to run another scan. Ths repair was covered under warranty--but not the scan. It is now five months and 2500 miles later and the same problem has occurred. They said they need to run another scan. I asked to speak to Shaun who has always been very kind. I was told he was with a customer and would return my call. No call, txt or email was returned.

While we understand the customer's frustration, this complaint is directed to the incorrect party. The customer's issue is with her warranty company and the terms of the contract. It was explained to her on multiple occasions but she was unwilling to accept our answer. She then became hostile the last time that she contacted our establishment and after abruptly hanging up has initiated no further contact.

First time bringing my car here and will be the last. $125 for basic oil change. Asked for a quote to fix my windshield wipers & charged $120 without telling me
We apologize that we did not meet your expectations. We are not a quick oil change shop and employ only ASE certified mechanics who are commissioned based. Therefore our oil changes will be higher than other shops that do not employ mechanics, but hire individuals and then train them to do an oil change. We also have a sign at the check-in desk stating that there is a diagnostic fee and the diagnostic fee is stated on the work order that is completed and signed by the client. A diagnostic fee was charged because there was not a way to know the repair needed for the wipers without the mechanic inspecting the vehicle and confirming what is needed. We are always happy to give estimates when requested if the client knows what repair is needed.
