Cinch Self Storage Reviews

Rats in the storage unit Rats ate and defecated all over our belongings. We paid over £4500 for our items to be stored safely so we had them for our new home. A couple of weeks before our move we went to the storage unit to check over what was there. While going through the boxes we notice a horrible smell, then realized that the granules on top of our boxes as likely rodent droppings When we discovered the issue we spent most of our Sunday day moving items to a new unit and going through checking for damage. We did have plans for the rest of the day, but had to cancel them so we could move our belongings. We did ask for a dustpan and brush so we could clear the rodent droppings off the tops of boxes (so we didn't have to touch it) but this never materialised. There was no assistance offered at this stage from Cinch besides the new, smaller, unit. We lost our fridge, our sofa, our armchair and a mattress. There were knaw marks on a 1940s dressing table my mother gave me. The rats had climbed inside our boxes and nested in my tea cups. We were then told to file a claim with insurance and it seems Cinch at that point considered the matter closed. When we requested assistance in chasing the insurance company, this wasn't given. They eventually got back to us due to my follow up with them. Something that took up a large amount of my time, while trying to organise our move and work full time. Frankly, it used time I did not have.  We eventually received funds from the insurance company over six weeks after we originally noticed the damage. We have been without a fridge or sofa in our new home for approaching 3 weeks. Due to Cinch's negligence, we had nowhere cool to store our food when the temperature has been approaching 30°C. Cinch's response to this has been appalling. We weren't offered help going through or sorting out belongings. We weren't given any help in chasing the insurance company. The only thing Cinch has done is cover the delivery costs for the new items, but I had to call 4 times and email multiple times to get this response. I understand things happen, storing items in storage units will never be without risk. But Cinch's handling of this situation has been terrible, that is the reason for the single star. If Cinch had been proactive in helping us, chasing the insurance company, covering delivery, and showing they wanted to make right this situation, it would have been far less stressful and upsetting.

Storage hunting!!! So stressful We looked at a few storage places and gosh some were disgusting!!!! From our visit to Cinch and meeting Abbas it was a pleasure and a joy and put us at so much ease to know our stuff was going to be in safe hands Abbas was so lovely and patient and helped us so much in deciding what size to go with and even stayed passed his finish time to help us on both occasion the first visit and then finally going to sign the unit paperwork nothing was to much trouble for him and he’s an asset to the company I look forward to bumping in to him on our next visit with our boxes always happy and jovial which is a great thing to see he very clearly loves his Job and we look forward to Cinch looking after our belongings 😊😊

Great friendly service, well maintained and secure building Having made a couple of online enquiries, we stopped into Cinch in Brentwood to go ahead and rent a unit. Andreana was very helpful, showing us the unit before we went ahead and giving us all the information we needed. The unit itself is very secure, with several access doors and a locked gate. Very happy overall. A bit of advice about the insurance - look for your own independent provider as the in-house provision is very expensive.

Easy and efficient … Used Cinch since they took over the Leighton Buzzard storage, it has been great being able to change units as our needs have changed. Always clean and fresh, with helpful staff. The staff were INCREDIBLE! The staff were INCREDIBLE (Abbas, Aaron and the friendly receptionist Harriet), very helpful and patient, especially with the people I hired to help me who only spoke Portuguese. My storage room was nice, there was enough space to store my 2-bedroom furniture and the price was very attractive, all advised by the staff. Close to the elevator, very clean and safe. Perfect, 10/10 will be recommended by me to everyone I know who needs it.

Highly recommended from a females point of view. My friend and I needed a storage unit, but was really unclear exactly what size we needed. I had been up one afternoon and was helped massively by the two ladies that were working on that particular day. I then decided that I really should take my friend up so that she could see for herself and make the final decision. We were greeted by another friendly,helpful lady, Kayleigh, who spent the time with us showing a few of the smaller units and helping us pick the right size for my friends needs. I would highly recommend going here, especially as a woman. We weren't judge and nothing was too much trouble.
