I was a loyal customer of CTAC for over a decade, but after spending $2,324.57 this year trying to get a simple “check engine” light fixed, they installed a defective catalytic converter, charged me for additional parts and labor (likely unnecessary), gave me weeks of excuses, treated me terribly, and ultimately refused to honor their own warranty.
Every visit, their mechanic promised “this will fix it” — but the light came back on within hours. After three rounds of parts and charges, I had the Jeep diagnosed elsewhere — the real problem was the defective catalytic converter they had installed.
I gave CTAC multiple chances to correct this — but instead they stalled, lied about shipping delays, and their staff became openly hostile. They finally told me they would not replace the part or honor their own 36-month/36,000-mile warranty — and told me to take my Jeep elsewhere.
After more than $2,300 wasted, CTAC left me with the exact same problem I came in with — and worse, I still couldn’t pass inspection.
CTAC is not the honest shop it once was — and I will never return. You shouldn’t either.

Over the course of your visits, our team performed diagnostics and multiple repairs with your full approval at each step. All parts were installed in good faith, based on the diagnostic data available at the time. The catalytic converter installed was brand new and came from a reputable supplier. After you reported an issue, we attempted to source a replacement part under warranty. However, unforeseen supply chain challenges delayed that process.
Despite these challenges, we still extended a refund for the full cost of the catalytic converter — even though you retained the part — and also refunded labor that was never originally charged for. This refund was processed in good faith, not as an admission of wrongdoing.
What your review does not mention is your conduct during this situation. Unfortunately, you used profanity and became verbally abusive toward our staff — including a call where you cursed at and screamed at our service advisor. No matter the circumstance, we will never tolerate abusive behavior toward our employees. At that point, we made the decision to no longer service your vehicle.
Ultimately, you were refunded $820.55 — for a part you still possess and labor you were never billed for — resolving this matter far beyond what most shops would consider reasonable. We acted with integrity throughout this situation, and while we regret that it ended on these terms, we stand by our team and the professional way in which they handled this case.

I have been bringing my car to Central Texas Auto Care for years, and they have always provided excellent service. Most recently, I had an unexpected issue during some bad weather, and they got my car in right away, diagnosed the problem quickly, and had it fixed the same day. Their team is friendly, professional, and truly cares about their customers. The technicians are thorough and explain everything clearly. I always feel confident leaving my car in their hands. Long time customer sending five different cars to their shop for regular maintenance or repairs. Shop does honest work and can fix any issue cheaper than taking to a dealer. Great one stop shop for all!

I have recently went to have repairs done on my Mazda. I have been very happy with the work done. The mechanic spoke to me and explained the issues. That way I understood what was wrong. The front desk was professional and clearly told me my options. I would definitely go back to them. Cody, Krystal, and Jeremy are honest and very helpful.

Great customer service! I took my car in for brake inspection and turned out my brakes were good. Thank you Jesus 🙏🏼 However my car was making a squeaky noise when hitting bumps and speed humps so they test drove it and found my suspension/ball joints were bad. Replaced same day! Car is driving so much better now. Thank you to Danny (owner) and Tiffany for all of your help. 15 out of 10 for me!!

I recently had to go to CTAC for a device to be installed from one vehicle to another and I cannot rave about this shop enough. Tiffany was so kind, patient and sweet and constantly kept me updated and was fantastic at communication throughout the entire process. Dannie was the mechanic who worked on both my vehicles and again was very kind and considerate and made the whole experience the best it could be.
Beyond fair pricing and conveniently located, I highly recommend Central Texas Auto Care and Tiffany and Dannie will take excellent care of you!

They deserve zero stars. My sons truck was there for over 6 weeks for a repair he said would take two weeks. Then in week 5, the owner forged my name on the receipt so the warranty company would pay him the $4,000 for repairs but the repair wasn't complete and we didn't get the truck back until 5 days after he got paid. Very dishonest and against the law to forge someone's name and receive payment for repairs that weren't complete.
Once we did get the truck back the owner denied forging my name, even though the warranty company had proof. The warranty company must have a signed invoice in order to pay and i didn't sign it because the truck wasn't done yet. So, someone other than me signed the invoice. On top of that the truck still had issues after we got it back, which included an oil leak it didn't have when we brought it in initially. We had to take it back 3 more times in the span of two weeks because the truck still had issues in addition to the oil leak. After the 3rd time, it was still leaking oil so we gave up with them and realized we'd need to take it somewhere else and spend more money. Turns out it had bolts missing from the oil pan and it wasn't sealed properly. Poor work and more money out of my pocket! This was the worst experience I've ever encountered with a repair shop and I would never recommend taking my vehicle to them.
This company was amazing. I have an interlock device that was giving me so much trouble and they helped me so much with communicating with the company. I had to leave town for work as soon as possible and they had to install a new device in my car. They made sure to get everything done as fast as possible and get me on the road. AMAZING customer service and AMAZING quality of work. I’m so appreciative and they made my life so much easier. I will continue to bring any business I have to them and recommend them to all of my friends. 10/10

I wanted to take the time to leave a review because this is surely not the first time that I have had excellent customer service from this place. If you are looking for an honest, dependable, and trustworthy place to take your vehicle, Central Texas Auto Care is the place. I took my truck in early one morning without an appointment thinking I would have to be in limbo for a while, but Josh took my truck in and got it fixed and out of the ship in just half a day. Some Auto shops (especially dealerships) want you to fill out pages of paperwork before you can even get on the books up to weeks in advance. Central Texas Auto Care is a common sense, skilled, trustworthy, and excellent customer service. They are always super busy, but they never make you wait. I honestly don't know how they do it. I've used them for years now and I highly highly highly recommend them to everyone. They also won't rip you off on price. Their price is always well below any quote from other auto shops. Save yourself any further heartache and take your vehicle to Central Texas Auto Care.
