Very attractive cafe right on the Lake Taupo esplanade overlooking the lake.
Food was really delicious with a comprehensive offering, beautifully presented. We continued our journey south feeling satisfied and welcomed.
If I could give Cafe Baku 10 stars I would!! What an incredible brunch we had. After a rugby tournament we booked for 45 people. We came in and within 10 mins poeple had their food, coffees were out before we even started chatting. The food was incredible! Everyone of the 45 people raved about the service, kindness, speed and DELICIOUSNESS. Would highly recommend. We all ate off the menu but the cabinet food looked great too. Coffee was delicious. Will be back and will be spreading the word!

Dreadful cafe. Arrived five minutes before opening and the obese maori woman on the counter said she wouldn't serve me because they weren't open. No polite explanation that if I would wait a few minutes she would serve me. Rude and unnecessary. No customer service standards at all. Avoid this place.
The granola was good, as well as the coffee. Great location and friendly service. Would go there again.
We enjoyed the coffee, food and atmosphere at Cafe Baku so much that we had breakfast/brunch on both days of our stay in Taupō. They have a great range of menu options for breakfast/brunch supplemented by items such as savoury scones, pastries and open toasties. We were thrilled that the cafe carries lactose free milk for coffee.
Great customer service:) Sua was exceptional at all time. All staff members were amazing as well. And food was just wow 😀
As an Azerbaijani from Baku, finding this café in Taupō made me so happy and emotional. 🥹❤️ After being away from home for so many years, seeing a little piece of Baku here felt so special.

This a perfect place to have our brunch! The service with the waiters and waitresses, who put our plates on our tables with the perfectly colored plates with the food on top. The food was excellently plated 🍽 😋 and the waiters waitresses delivered and returned with top quality service. The amount of cold fridge food and desserts also was available too. Selected food be heated at the right times. Dining, service, waiters and waitresses, chefs and fantastic food to enjoy!!! AAAA!!!
