Poor service. We are in Germiston right now for 2 hours the bus broke down and they are saying they are sending another bus but it's been 2 hours no bus is coming. Not gonna hire this bus again. This is the first and last

Breakdowns are never planned, and when this incident occurred in Germiston our team immediately dispatched a replacement vehicle. Unfortunately, depending on traffic, distance, and vehicle availability, it can take time for a standby bus to reach the location. That does not make the wait any less frustrating, and we fully understand how upsetting that must have been.
Passenger safety is always our first priority, which is why we would rather stop and replace a vehicle than risk continuing a trip with a mechanical fault.

We started using Bus Centre Hire in 2023 and we have received consistently excellent service, especially from Gillian. Prices have always been reasonable and unlike some other bus hires, the drivers are accommodating and professional. We have used them for both long distance and local trips for our school and honestly, we can only give positive feedback. Keep up the good work!
This rating is purely because of the quiet residential street in front of my house being used as a training route for big bus drivers, in big buses.
UPDATE: No more buses passing my house, so updating the review below.

We would like to clarify that the buses operating in your area were not conducting training for our company. They were hired by an external recruitment company that is currently running a driver testing programme in the neighbourhood. The routes and testing locations were selected by the recruitment company, not by TAG Passenger Services & Bus Centre Hire.
That said, we acknowledge the inconvenience caused. We have already contacted the recruitment company to raise the concerns you’ve highlighted, and we have asked them to adjust their routes and ensure their drivers conduct themselves with professionalism and respect at all times.
We also wish to note that there are no municipal signs or boards indicating that heavy vehicles are restricted in the area. However, we fully understand the impact this may have on residents and are committed to doing everything within our control to minimise disturbance.

On the evening of 11th February 2025, Bus Centre Hire provided three 65 seater buses to convey 190 very nervous concert goers from Parktown to St Mary's Anglican Cathedral, a jewel located in the heart of the Johannesburg CBD with all its congestion and intimidating third world appearance. An international organist gave a recital from 7.30 pm until 9.15 pm, after which all were taken back to Parktown. Despite a torrential downpour, the entire operation went flawlessly, bang on time, in superb vehicles driven by wonderfully skilled and courteous drivers. I cannot praise the company enough.
