Inca has going to Bowesfield for over 8years , 4 years with the new owners . She is always alert and animated as we drive towards kennels , wagging her tail as we go through . We have just used Bowesfield again for a weekend away and used them for our 2cats , all have come home and settled in immediately.

Read the small print when booking as you will lose your deposit if cancel, if lucky to get full amount back it will be minus 20%.

Thank you for your review. As stated in our T&Cs and in the emails before you pay the deposit these are not refundable or transferable. However on your occasion we did return the fee minus bank charges and tax we had already paid on the deposit. I hope this clarifies the misunderstanding.
Phoned twice with no answer but left a message, also filled in their form on their web site still no contact. I’ll take my business elsewhere.

We pride ourselves in giving the best care possible for the pets we are looking after - this means that we are not always able to answer phone calls and emails straight away.
We state on our voice mail that we will get back to all messages within 48 hours, this did take us an extra 24 hours to get back to your message as we are really busy during the summer breaks and have received a lot of voicemails at present, so for this we do apologise, we did however only have one missed call and voicemail from yourself which was on Sunday, we have checked our emails and spam folder and we have not had an email from yourself also.

We met Paula today....she is such a lovely lady and a fab dog groomer! My Roxy had her 1st groom today and came out looking and smelling beautiful! Now summer ready!! Thank you again Paula...Roxy will be back!!🤩💖

We are delighted with Bowesfield and our 8-and-a-half year old Golden Retriever was returned to us in very good form after a long stay of over 5 weeks. Our usual local dog minder was unavailable for this period and it was unusual for us to be away for so long so we were naturally a bit nervous. However, we were soon reassured by the friendly staff that he would be ok. He was walked and entertained and cared for and even allowed the beauty parlour lady to give him a professional groom - something he's not ever done before! You get a real sense that the staff at Bowesfield genuinely love dogs and enjoy looking after them. Great location in beautiful countryside. I would recommend Bowesfield and the fact we live in London so far away is testament in itself!
I have no words to explain just how amazing Christine and all the staff at Bowesfield are.
Our boy Bear is not the smallest or easiest to manage but they welcomed him with open arms and treated him like one of their own during his stays with them. He is always excited when we drop him off and goes off very happily without looking back for us.
They truly do go above and beyond for the animals they care for. It doesn’t have the typical “kennel” feel, it’s like a home from home.
Cannot recommend them enough.

Our 2 elderly spaniels had been here years ago with previous kennel owner. Dec 2023 they had a 1 week stay.
The kennels were dark and cold, but we were assured there was heating via heat lights. We paid extra to have them returned at the end of the week. Their brand new bed was covered in wee and poo as were the dog's feet and legs. The bed was thrown in the bin it was so bad. The dogs were washed by us and I cancelled the next booking for March, losing my deposit rather than put them in there again.

Firstly I would like to apologise that you were unhappy with their stay. They had stayed with us in August of 2022 for 8 days with no issues at all. They came in December for 9 days and, on Checking their observation sheets for this stay had no issues either. We always wash bedding before returning to owners and apologise if this didn’t meet your expectations. As for the heat lamps, the care of the pets ALWAYS comes first. Our heat lamps are on 24/7 in the winter as it can get very cold. Yes they need revamping but we are always upfront with owners, offering viewings and are clear with everyone who comes through our doors. We offer a grooming and bath service to all customers so they go home clean and refreshed, that’s your choice if you wish that done. Again apologies that you didn’t like our kennels after those two stays. Kennels are not for everyone.
I have boarded my dog's twice now and highly recommend Bowesfield. The girls really care about the dogs. I was a bit apprehensive when I first left my “baby” for 10 days, but i received photos and update's which really helped me not worry about him. I have since got a second dog and they both stayed for a couple of days in April. They loved it, and knowing they were being looked after so well, was so reassuring.
