You will be happy you chose BOCO for your Malta experience.
Aside from the close proximity to the Valletta Ferry, the BOCO experience itself is second to none! I arrived for a family tree research destination (as my ancestors were from Bormla/Cospicua) and I left feeling like a family member. The rooftop terrace is epic for morning coffee or an evening nightcap. The rooms are each their own work of art! The breakfast choices are plentiful and savory. The staff cares for you during your stay, and if I am ever fortunate to return to Malta again. I will absolutely stay at BOCO again! You might say: “I am officially BOCOlized!” The proprietor, Tony Busuttil is an absolute gem and Vanessa was wonderful as well. I cannot say enough about BOCO.
Brilliant hotel with amazing views
The Boco Boutique is a brilliant hotel situated on a typical narrow Maltese street. Our room was beautifully and individually decorated with a large en suite and a balcony along its whole length. The crowning glory is the roof top bar and terrace providing views across the Grand Harbour to Valletta. Sitting here with a drink and watching the city change colour as the sun set was the perfect interlude between a day exploring Malta and an evening enjoying the bars and restaurants.
Tony is a brilliant host with plenty of advice on what to do, where to visit, and will happily invite you to join his friends for drinks on the terrace.
I can't recommend the Boco enough and plan to stay again next time I'm in Malta.
Fantastic, unique boutique hotel with and exceptional host
This exceptional and unique hotel is an elegant and artistically renovated town house (complete with elevator) in a lovely part of the historic Three Cities, very close to the ferry shuttle which takes you straight into the heart of Valetta. It is in a quiet but superb location for accessing all of the main areas of interest and restaurants/bars. Pretty, narrow, cobbled streets lead down from the hotel to the waterfront. We couldn't have been made to feel more welcome by the very charming and informative owner, Tony, who generously and tirelessly offers a wealth of knowledgable advice/assistance, with nothing being too much trouble, from arranging airport taxis to helping us to find diving centres or looking for interesting day trips to take. He even took us on two guided walks himself and demonstrated an excellent knowledge of the history of Matla and the area which he retold in an enagaing, captivating way. He welcomed us with wine and generous hospitality, even asking us to join him and his friends for evening drinks. The rooms are very comfortable, individually designed spaces with inumerable interesting touches that combine beautiful modern design with the traditional, and the stunning penthouse bar and sun lounge area (with jacuzzi avaialable) commands spectacular views across the city. Breakfasts were individually tailored and were in a lovely basement patio area with yet more opportunities to spot the fabulous creative flair of our host. Our thanks to Tony for a fantastic week in a wonderful hotel!
Little boutique art hotel gem with superb views, great host, 10 out of 10 , we want to come back ASAP!
We stayed at Boco for 5 days but we regretted after day 1 that we had do leave it to other hotel...the hotel is located in beautiful old part of the town on small cosy street but it is super close to town center of Bormla and just few minutes ferry ride to Valetta . The hotel itself is a little art gem, full of individual and interesting art that is carefully put together by Tony - an owner that makes the stay even more worth since he is friendly, very helpful and created almost old friends atmosphere if you only want to. The rooms are very clean and we'll made and hotel has breathtaking view on 3 cities and Valletta from the rooftop bar and terrace . Place worth every minute of the stay and we will definitely come back ! Thank you Tony for being so great host, friend during our stay.
Beautiful
Great boutique hotel in a perfect location , this place has lots of character that probably you won't find it at another hotel. Fair to say that every corner of this house has a story and a meaning behind it. Tony is just the perfect host lovely, friendly and always ready to help if you need any advice. The location is spot on as Cospicua (part of the Three Cities) is packed with history and historical buildings not to mention the beautiful harbour and the quick ferry to Valetta.
I highly recommend this place if you plan to visit Malta.
We had a great time and would return anytime.
Impressive place
We had planned to stay for 3 days, but the place was so spectacular, we’ve decided to be the whole week.
Amazing view of Valletta and Three Cities was not the only reason. The unique interior, a great roof terrace and a familiar atmosphere did the job.
The whole place was created by Tony, the host, who beside being an artist is a great friendly and very helpful guy.
We definitely recommend the place if you plan to visit Valletta. It is 5 min walk + 5 min ferry and you are directly in the center.
If you want to relax it is also a good choice.
Viele gute Restaurants liegen in 5-10 Minuten fußnähe.
A worth place
After a very warm welcome from Tony, we spent a lovely stay in this design hotel.
The location is ideal : close to the port, the ferry to Valetta and some nice restaurants. Tony was able to advice (and book for us) some amazing tables
Ask him were to find beautiful beaches, you will be sure to have a good moment.

Thank you Frederic for your lovely review – it was a pleasure having you and Valerie with us at BOCO Boutique.
An extraordinary place to stay
BOCO is an extraordinary hotel regarding the architecture, amenities and service offered during the stay. We visited the hotel for the second time this summer and we could observe continuous improvements of the hotel which makes the entire experience even better than our last visit. The host, owner of the hotel will welcome you with the words “use this house as it would be yours” and we could feel the warm welcome during the entire stay. The fact that the hotel is run by the owner makes the stay personal, individualised and truly maltesse - the local owner of the hotel is there for the guests all the time, happy to give beach/food/cultural recommendation, or even book a taxi, ferry, whatever the guests are in need of. This is an extraordinary service, giving the guests a very local experience.
THE HOTEL
Gently renovated old maltese house with 6 rooms, filled with artworks, maltese decorations is located in the old city centre with one of the best panorama terraces in town. From there, you can see the historic city of Valletta, Bormla and the Harbour. Moreover the terrace is accessible 24/7 with a self service bar where you can find basically everything, from water to fancy local wines, there is a jacuzzi, shower and places for sunbathing . On the terrace is a strong wifi connection which makes it an ideal place for remote working.
THE ROOM
The room we stayed in for 8 nights was clean and comfortable with a powerful AC and ceiling fan, the room bar had really friendly prices. The owner thinks about the guests' experience to the very last detail - e.g. the towels were luxurious, extra soft and exchanged whenever we needed. For the beach, we received an extra pair of beach towels.
THE SERVICE
As mentioned prior, the personal and very individual approach of the owner makes the stay in the hotel very special. For breakfast, there is a wide selection of local products, freshly squeezed orange juice, homemade marmalades, homemade cookies and cakes, coffee, tea….Moreover, during the day there is a possibility to get a coffee, soft drinks, ice cream, wine from the rooftop bar - the prices are like in the local stores, very affordable.
Overall, we would definitely recommend BOCO, it is an awesome house with extraordinary service. For short- or long- term stays, BOCO is a perfect place in Malta.
Beautiful boutique hotel with spectacular views.
Boco Boutique is truly memorable & a very special place. Tony, the owner, is a generous and helpful host who made us feel very welcome from the minute we walked in, and gave some very useful suggestions.
The top floor chill out area offers truly spectacular views of the city. The artistic decor, close proximity to the 3 city ferry stop, reasonable priced bar & overall ambiance of the place makes it a perfect choice to relax and unwind as well as explore Malta.
We hope to return to Boco Boutique and would not hesitate to recommend it to friends and family.
A very warm welcome back to Malta
Stayed with my partner in July 2021 for 2 nights. Welcomed on arrival by Tony, hotel owner, who was very friendly and talked very passionately about the history of BOCO. We stayed in room 545 which has a fantastic terrace overlooking the Cospicua skyline, was very clean with powerful AC and Netflix. The hotel is quirky and full of interesting art pieces. Overall a really lovely stay and great to be back in Malta..!
Marco Furiosi
