Poor service when checking in on same day I booked

☹ Terrible attitude. Harassing number of text messages and would not answer my direct call. I was texted that I was attempting to avoid security. I had no history with the person or property. I’m given a very high rating on ride share apps. I’m actually a professional advisor with a good reputation. Had to book elsewhere because of their attitude

Our "hasassing number of text messages" were in response to your messages and voice messages. You called during a busy period when we were unable to answer the phone. We responded by text message whilst we were helping other customers.
You advised that you had no access to your emails to make payment, but our system indicated that the email that we sent you had been opened.
You wanted to make payment outside of our secure processes. By the end of it, we were very happy not to have to have dealt with your excuses and scamming over the phone.
We provided free cancellation for you to stay somewhere else.
We take the security of our property and guests very seriously. There is no room for guest that show any indication that they will cause disturbance or distruption to the peaceful enjoyment that other guest, our staff and neighbours are entitled to.
Your absence at our property can only be considered a good thing.

Great place to stay close to everything, beds are comfy and you can hear the birds.
☺ Loved the location so close to everything. Loved the piece and quiet and hearing the birds was really lovely. The room was just perfect plenty of space.
☹ The cockroaches in the kitchen and the fans didn't work in the dining area.

☺ The location was conveniently close to where I needed to be.
The living room and double kitchen were very spacious and for the general use of the occupants of the 10 rooms at the lodge.
The place was daily cleaned by a cleaning service company.
The bed was large and comfortable, although the room did not have much storage space.
☹ The bathroom was the smallest I ever experienced.
A small shower and a tiny wash basin that normally is used to wash your hands in a toilet.
I did not meet any staff. The entry code of the backdoor was not active upon arrival. Communication was via text messages.

Good location if you have transport. Poor quality facility, no staff and more of a dorm than a hotel
☺ The location and shared kitchen facilities were good.
☹ Payment upfront and no refunds for a 10 day stay. I should have suspected based on this the following issues:
I could hear the conversations of all other guests at all times.
I could hear the people in the adjacent rooms snoring.
There was a stolen and destroyed car parked out the front of the property (not a good sign).
I was woken up at 2 am with a stolen car on fire out the front of the property.

We are disappointed that your stay did not meet your expectations.
Unfortunately there have been a couple of stolen cars being taken for a joy ride recently. Both incidents were attended promptly by police and other authorities. These circumstances are indeed unfortunate, but not common. Both cars have since been removed.
It is noted that you booked a discounted non refundable rate for your stay. Upfront payment and no refund are the nature of these discounted rates.
Our terms and conditions are inline with lodge style accommodation. Perhaps your were expecting more of a motel style property. Upfront payment is quite common for both. In any case, our terms and conditions are communicated to guest at booking and via multiple emails and online registration prior to arrival.
You also stayed during a very busy school holiday period when there was a week long major sporting event on, resulting in us being fully booked for the duration of your stay. A full house is sometimes going to be a little noisier than usual.
It is ideed interesting that you rated you $116 per night stay as good value for money dispite the generally low score and issues you have noted.

Perfect quiet location away from busy roads.
Comfy beds, espresso pods, full laundry. Would love to book whole lodge for family holiday, using large lounge and massive kitchen areas.
Digital keypads do away with keys. No on site staff but queries and requests are promptly answered by text.
