I love to support our black owned businesses. However this is not a walk-in restaurant as it appears on google it’s a virtual restaurant where they serve multiple restaurants and place your food in a locker, text you a code to get your food. I’m not a fan of this type of stuff. Secondly my bbq chicken had feathers On it still. My blueberry cornbread taste like coconut. The yams are made with coconut. The Mac and Cheese was oily and definitely not baked. The only thing I really enjoyed was the stuffing with gravy.
A bit disappointing considering what positive things I had seen about this place on social media. The honey jerk chicken was super inconsistent; it was uncomfortably spicy for some bites, sweet and enjoyable for some bites, and completely bland in other parts. Most of it was dry. The rice under it didn’t seem too fresh. However, the mac and cheese and coconut yams were very good. Overall, the heart is there but the execution is not.

Really? And I did confirm with a call. When I arrived there 8.15 they were already closed and boarded up. Bad business.
Actually when I called i did say I was coming by After work. Nothing additional was explained. Actually I did walk into a food pick up building where I saw 2 men talking and noone at the window. I even asked them but they didn't know. Im not confused. You should put clear signage about specific instructions. Since then I been calling and I guess you're even too busy to answer for your customers....

Hi CbM, we were open. You just needed to walk into the building like everyone else does. The food truck is not always open because we are extremely busy and can’t serve as many customers from the truck as the kitchen.. however, it’s never boarded up.
the address is listed as 1140 Utica because you have to look up at the building number and walk into 1140 Utica, we would’ve gladly explained that to you over the phone if we knew you were confused.

This is a joke Food truck is parked came all the way from Manhattan to nothing. Not a physical location neither.

The food is absolutely five-star. Overall, happy we went!
The wait is rough - an hour or longer so be prepared. There’s no seating at the location. I would order ahead and plan to take the food home.
We traveled an hour and a half the first time and it was closed at the listed opening time. I’d recommend planning to get there an hour or two after “opening.”
The wait was over an hour and change. There was no good customer service. Nobody apologized for the wait or even offered anything for the inconvenience. The one staff person would disappear once you request your money back. I would never come back again. If you give an estimated time the food should be ready by then not 2 hours later, literally. BEWARE.
I’m extremely disappointed with the food on this visit. I ordered the fried chicken with seafood mac and cheese, seafood cornbread, broccoli, and garlic herb rice.
Unfortunately, most of the meal fell short. The rice was hard and undercooked, the broccoli was completely bland with no seasoning or flavor, and while the fried chicken had decent seasoning, it was very soggy. The seafood mac was the one highlight, it had good flavor but the “seafood cornbread” was definitely not as described. It was essentially just regular cornbread with Cajun butter on top, which felt misleading.
I genuinely wanted to like this,especially since we’d been looking forward to trying it for a while but for nearly $50, this just wasn’t worth it. Sadly, I won’t be returning. Order at your own risk.
I ordered a catfish dinner and they sent me tilapia! Tried calling them but the phone isn’t working. Unacceptable!
Update: it was in fact whiting which is still not acceptable. I should’ve been notified of the change. You don’t know if I have allergies or not.

the delivery guy was taking long so i was already thinking it would have to be exceptional to get a good rating. it absolutely was. the collard greens were the best i've ever had, the fried chicken had a nice homestyle taste and flavor without being overly greasy. candied yams with coconut? whoever thought about that deserves a prize.
