Unprepared, Unresponsive, and Overpriced Legal Representation
Extremely Disappointing Representation
My experience with Big Rock Legacy Law Group, and specifically managing attorney Leon Jones, was extremely disappointing and unprofessional.
Throughout my divorce case, I repeatedly sought clarification on important legal matters, yet my questions were rarely answered in a clear or meaningful way. Despite being the attorney assigned to represent me, Mr. Jones never appeared to have a solid understanding of my case. On multiple occasions, he seemed unaware of what documents were in my file and was consistently unprepared for court proceedings.
One of the most frustrating aspects of this experience was the lack of preparation for mediation. Mr. Jones refused to adequately prepare beforehand and provided little to no meaningful assistance during the mediation itself. During the mediation session, he repeatedly left the call to attend to other clients and even scheduled another court appearance during my mediation. As a client facing one of the most stressful situations of my life, I found this behavior unacceptable and highly disrespectful.
Communication was another major issue. I was almost always the one forced to follow up for updates, answers to questions, or information about the status of my case. Rather than feeling represented and informed, I felt completely left in the dark.
What makes this experience even more difficult to accept is the amount of fees charged considering the lack of service provided. I paid substantial legal fees but did not receive the level of attention, preparation, advocacy, or professionalism that any client should expect from their attorney.
This was, without question, the most unprofessional experience I have ever had with a lawyer representing me. Unfortunately, I felt trapped because changing attorneys mid-divorce would have created even more delays and expenses. I was trying to resolve the matter so I could focus on managing my health conditions, yet the lack of support and professionalism only added to an already difficult situation.
Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Big Rock Legacy Law Group to anyone seeking reliable, responsive, and prepared legal representation.

Check the fees, and compare to market rates before paying anything to this firm. I didn’t sign their contract after reading their agreement, but they still tried to keep over half the initial retainer money that I paid them two days prior. They charge me 150 for the first consultation paid before meeting. We met I originally wanted to hire them , and I paid them 3700 of the 7000 retainer fee on May 20,2026received their contract and saw the fees on May 22,2026 I told them I needed to look in a different direction, and I would not be signing the contract. I received a text from them saying that they would only be refunding me 1500 of the 3700. I explained to them that I never signed the contract. I spoke with three people from this company, and they finally agreed to give me 3400 back. He will take his time refunding your money. He held my money for 16 days, and sent it by check instead of returning it to the card. Received an email from him June 5 stating he put a check for the 3400 in the mail. Please read the contract before giving this firm any money it cost me 300 dollars to not hire him plus the 150 consult fee.

Ms. Garland, while I disagree with your assessment, I will say that I did all I could to properly handle your request. We had to take 15 days to refund because our bank requires us to verify the funds. The only way we can verify those funds is to send a check after the funds have been processed from the 2 cards you used to pay half the initial retainer. You had no problem paying the one-half retainer, but instead of having a conversation with me after reading the Engagement letter you decided our rates were too high and terminated our services. After you yelled at me over the phone as I attempted to explain how we would refund your payment, you then write this review. As a small business owner, I do the very best I can to work with all clients to provide the best service I can. When we met it was pleasant and you decided to hire our firm. We could have worked this out without the negative review, but that is the route you chose after you received your refund. We do wish you well.
Did not follow through on multiple plans of action and backpeddled, used coersion to scare me away from court, still hasnt given court documents as promised, and they will rob your account dry before you fire them. They dont communicate well, they put up an act. 10/10, go somewhere where the lawyer will work for you and not against you. Failed me big time, and many family members. Hides vital information if they feel like it.

Mr. Hoffman, this is an unfair account of what took place. Prior to the court hearing you and I discussed case and I provided you with what I believed to be the outcome considering the considerable negatives we had working against us. You made the final decision and we ended the call with you satisfied with our representation. I do have the transcript and a recording of the call. Once the order was signed by the Judge a copy was sent to you and you sent us a note of gratitude.
Please know I have never coerced a client to do anything. I only present options and give you my best assessment. We did not fail you because you had information regarding your case throughout the process and we did not hide any information.

Mr. Jones was very quick getting me scheduled and and helping me with some legal advice out of my depths. I most appreciate that as a new client, I still felt like my needs were important. Biggest win, they could get to me quickly. I will be a repeat client!

Leon & Kianna were great in helping me & my family with our requests. They checked in with me regularly to make sure I didn't have any questions or if I even needed anything during my waiting period. Total longevity for probate took about 3 1/2 months. I never once had to question were we stood in the process. Great communication. I highly recommend, specifically in my personal situation, for family legal matters.

Worked with this law firm and was very happy with how communicative they were. Someone was always available to answer questions and they were prompt in their responses!
