On 29Oct 2024, I looked up Ethel to help look for a helper which I need it in Jan 2025. She was very eager and helpful.. Sent me 5 biodata to look through and we secured on the 5th bio that was shared. This was settled on 1 Nov 2024.. On 2 Nov, she called me and confirmed again that I was taking the 5th bio and yes we come to a confirmation! All the forms and payment were setlled by 6 Nov.
On 18 Nov 2024, I whatsapp her to ask for some updates as I want to find out when will the helper be able to come to my place so that I can make arrangement for my previous helper to go home. Ethel only reply on 20 Nov.. I told her my concern of space issues. so I need to send off current then the new one come in.. she assured me by replying
“if u need her by this date, will arrange for her to come at least 1 week before u take her as still need to bring her for medical , SIP and thumbprint” and when i replied to arrange for confirmation of date, I was left hanging there with no replies again.. Until 22 Nov, I whatsapp her and asked her if the date set is okay? She replied “ok Ma'am noted”
On 5th Jan 2025 (one week before the helper is coming in), I asked what time will the helper arrive at my place on 12th Jan.. there was no reply from her. The next day, I whatsapp again..
She finally replied “I will check with Indonesia side
Sorry today not in office”
and i asked her to update me the next day about the timing.. i will need to make arrangement on my end.. On 8 Jan, she updated me (yayy she initiated to update me!) that the helper’s passport is just out and I need to authorise for application. Ok, got it done.. Then on 10 Jan (2 days before the helper is coming), then she updated that she got approval for the helper. but there will be delay on her arrival.. 2 days before the date that the helper supposed to come in, then only she updated me about the delay.. and when I asked for more details (delay for how long? when can she come instead?) she just blame it on indonesia’s side. and couldn’t do anything.. when i tried to ask for more details again, she said the delay was due to Indonesia change government.. (but this happened in oct 2024, why will it affect? really?)
Imagine my current helper is leaving on sunday morning and we dont know when will the new helper comes..? 🤯 and this helper is for taking care of elderly.. this is really pressing on our end, so made a call to Ethel, and she said 5 days (after the agreed date) then she can arrive at my place. I told her that 5 days is impossible.. Who is going to help take care of elderly from Mon to Fri..
After much discussion, she finally finalise that she can come on Tuesday.. but this experience gave our family a bad scare. We are unsure if we can trust what they have agreed.. She is very responsive and prompt when it comes to asking for payment. But when I asked for details/information, she took days to reply. Also, lack of responsibility to inform ahead and to provide solution. The processing fees and all collected by the agency is no small amount. But this is what I experienced…😩
On the day when the helper arrives, initially said 730pm.. but ended up came close to 9pm.. waaaa my first time receiving the helper so late at night. And that is already the very first day of working day for her. But I am super thankful that she is finally here!
Caregiving for elderly is not easy.. I hope they can be more understanding and sensitive when handling arrangement. To be more responsible in their timeline. To provide what they have agreed upon. To be upfront about situation. Don’t try to pacify people and delay news/updates.. It is not helpful..

They use the years of experience of the helper to claim that they are experienced but actually the helper is trying her best but not efficient or that good. Not able to clean mirror or glass well and neither able to cook/wash or clean properly and the support from the agency is limited so is their attitude. It is actually towards end of 4 months, debt paid off she appear to be no longer interested to work.
The maid also show a lot of issues such as ask her to rest , but she not following it, keep working but the cleaning is not done properly then emotional unstable then towards end of 4 months work quality also drop badly.
After 4 months working and clearing up the debt. One day she suddenly upset with my feedback, she request to go back to agency on the same day. And the agent Ethel Tan coerced me to allow her to do termination on same day notice instead of 30 days. DO note to use everything on Whatsapp message for black and white evidence no voice call. Then urgently need to go through them for replacement then cannot get many bios for review either.
During the replacement, she submitted documents without much checking and ask about that how come you not doing your job to check. she is like "excuse me". Bios airport stated wrongly. My son name also submitted without checking.
Overall, she good thing is do is trying to suggest related helper with related job scope. The bad part is she did the less than 1 day termination despite contract stated 30 days.

Anjali provided top notch service from selection to training. Was very patient and dedicated in helping me with the process of finding my first maid. I've heard of many cases where it's not a good match but I am thankful that Anjali has done a great job to ensure that it is the right one. There is also a lot of follow up and backend services such as teaching my helper how to set up her bank account and singpass. Even though it's also the first time my helper came to sg, there is strong rapport and training given to her. It has been 2 months and my family is very satisfied.
