We were able to board our dog as a last minute decision the day of our trip. Their hours are fantastic open till 8 and it was super clean when we walked in and everyone had a smile and was very welcoming. So glad we chose them for our dogs care.

I just move to the area. I was looking for a good daycare where my dog could enjoy her day rather than just being watched. I found best friendâs pet hotel in Carmel online and wanted to give it a try. Iâm glad that I did Koda, my dog, is a Chihuahua who can be a bit timid/excited/quiet/vocal at times. Very strange combination of traits but a wonderful dog. She just has,and always has had, difficulty being alone. Krystal, Shawn and Kirkland have been great! I met another young lady who was equally as good with her but I unfortunately missed her name.
Best Friends is a comfortable place and I feel like they care about their guests, pets and people included.
Very affordable and comfortable environmentâŚI look forward to having Koda enjoy her time there running with her new pack.

Best Friends Pet Hotel was awesome. We have a rescue Black Mouth Curr who at times needs a little additional attention. I could tell when we picked up Henry that he was loved on and taken very good care of. We will always take Henry to Best Friends Pet Hotel when we travel.

Our last two experiences at Best Friends Pet Hotel Carmel were awful.
Earlier this month at pickup, the desk attendant shared concern about a situation from earlier that day. They accused my dog of growling at another dog, who thankfully, just walked away casually. No dogs were hurt and seemingly that was the end of it. They were grateful the other dog was so easy-going, framing mine as some kind of troublemaker.
As a result of this, my dog would no longer be trusted to play in groups and, going forward, would be relegated exclusively to solo play at an additional cost.
This was surprising as nothing like it had ever happened before. Our dog doesnât growl and weâve never seen him growl at other animals. Heâs a benevolent 100-pound would-be lap dog that guards our children. We have boarded him many times before without event. I explained this and was told that sometimes as dogs age, this happens. It was fishy.
Normally, when I pick him up from boarding he is happy and I can tell that he had fun. This time, I could tell that something was off and he was not acting himself. When I went to give him a bath at home, I found that he had a fresh puncture wound on his left cheek. The facility I trusted wasnât aware of this wound, so I reached out to let them know. I also sought to right this injustice (him being limited to solo stays) as this wasnât his fault.
I then called Best Friends Pet Hotel Carmel and spoke to Jordan. I was told she would have the manager call me back as Kirklin was not currently on site. This was off to me at 3 PM on a Tuesday. I have given the manager over two weeks to return my call and am still waiting to hear back.
It doesnât seem as if they care to do the right thing here.
Unfortunately, this isnât the only time theyâve seemed unaware of an injury my dog has sustained while under their watch either.
Around 18 months ago, he was delivered to me limping after a week's stay. When I asked what happened, I was told that he started to limp on the walk from the kennel area. No injury was witnessed, he hadnât fallen. This seemed questionable but I gave them the benefit of the doubt at the time. The limping went away over a few days; this was our first time back to this location.
It will be our last.
Given the experiences above, I suggest you find a more trustworthy and reliable location to take care of your pets! RUN AWAY if you value your pet's safety!
