Installed our home Solar array last October. All was fine, however in the process of looking to upgrade to a Home Battery, have been informed by another installer that our Inverter is not battery compatible, despite repeated assurances in writing from Bare Energy that it was. It now seems they have closed down operations and are unreachable, giving me the impression of a fly-by-night operation and not to be trusted if its proprietors re-start operations

However, me being one of the last customer whom Bare Energy has served, can say that your team has been professional and the battery installation has been done with high standards. I am trying to reach out to you through this review to get you send me my warranty papers. I have tried multiple times to reach out on the available numbers but, unfortunately could not connect. I would still rate my experience high even I am awaiting the paperwork.

Do not use this company.
Bare Energy accepted full payment of over $6,000 from me for a solar battery just two weeks ago. Yesterday, they informed me they are shutting down and will not be providing the service. Instead of offering a full refund, they sent me a partial refund minus a processing fee — which is unacceptable and, under Australian Consumer Law, not permitted when no goods or services have been provided.
They have refused to acknowledge this legal obligation.
I have advised them in writing that I am looking to lodge a complaint with NSW Fair Trading and strongly advise anyone currently dealing with or considering this company to stop immediately. It is unlawful to accept payments for services they cannot or do not intend to supply.
Also be cautious of their related business: “Solar Install Pros.” (ABN 37 661 079 018)
This appears to be the same company operating under a different name. They contacted me using my Bare Energy details. Based on my experience, I would not trust them either.

As you’re aware, Bare Energy began winding down operations on 10 July 2025. Throughout this process, we acted as quickly and responsibly as possible to resolve all outstanding client accounts. In your case, we refunded your full deposit of over $6,000, less the merchant processing fees, which were non-refundable charges incurred at the time of payment.
We also undertook due diligence with our payment provider to confirm whether these fees could be recovered. Once confirmed, we refunded the $149.67 merchant fee in full. It was a priority for us to ensure all other valued clients and suppliers were also refunded any outstanding funds as part of our closure.

The Bare Energy team have recently finished a 10kW solar installation as part of the renovation works on our Victorian terrace in Newtown. Despite it being a fiddlier job than most they must encounter (due to working in an inner city, heritage building environment and having to fit in with all the other trades), they have been an absolute pleasure to work with - always going the extra mile to accommodate our needs. Really nice, friendly folk, too. We chose Bare Energy as our solar power provider because the were responsive and professional in their pricing and were offering good products backed by warranty. We were advised to go without a battery to begin with, in order to see how the systems performed. The installation of a 7.5KW system was done in one day - on the date and time agreed - about 2 months ago and we were very happy with the attention to detail of Luke and his team in positioning the panels and controller for optimum performance.
Since then we have monitored the performance of the system on an excellent app provided by Bare Energy and it is clear that we are currently producing significantly more power per day than we use, although our night-time and temporary peak use still comes off the grid. We can now start to consider the economics of adding a battery to the system to make it virtually free of external power consumption.
Bare Energy has been terrific in supporting us in all aspects, from connection to the grid and reviewing power deals to technical support when we changed our wifi modem. All cheerfully provided at no extra cost by staff such as Alex and Rick.
In summary, I have been very impressed by all the people at Bare Energy and can recommend the company as a professional, reliable and efficient provider of solar power services, who go the extra distance to ensure the customer is happy.

Great customer service leading up to the installation, however they didn't come on-site to do the inspection (relied on photos). In the end, the install couldn't happen - had to get a refund after a few months of waiting.
They have been apologetic, however this is a huge, serious lapse.

Bare Energy just finished installing my solar system. The company has been absolutely brilliant to deal with. Starting with Josh who came out to do the quote. Josh took the time to understand my needs, review site conditions and come up with the most suitable system. From there the handover to install process was seamless. I was handed over to Alex who managed the install. Alex kept me up to date both leading up to and during the install. Finally Nick lead the install team (who were actually an in house team) to complete the installation in a very professional manner. A day after install, Josh followed up again to see if I had any questions on anything. I couldn’t fault Bare Energy, I highly recommend them.
