Booked a 40-minute tax consultation with Ainhoa for €150. The call lasted under 10 minutes, but I expected follow-up questions to be included. When I later emailed a question, I was told I would need to pay another €150 because more than three months had passed. This time limit was never communicated at the point of booking.
I also had a separate consultation with Susana regarding the Digital Nomad visa, which I was happy with.
I’d suggest looking for a more transparent and client-friendly service elsewhere.
My experience with Balcells Group was extremely positive. First I worked with Ana and later with Mar - they were always very informative and responsive to my queries.
My residency situation was complicated and they were able to help me navigate the best possible path and solution for my situation.
I've seen other reviews complaining about the process taking a long time - be aware: this is simply how it is in Spain, and the lawyers have to wait for the system to do its thing just like clients!
I would absolutely recommend Balcells Group and I will use their services again when the time comes to get my permanent residency card in 2031. Thanks so much, Ana & Mar!

I paid Balcells International on 12 January 2026 for the constitution of a Spanish SLU. The last substantive action they took on my file was on 15 May 2026, four months later, and the work they delivered contained errors against what I had requested.
Communication throughout was poor. Response times on substantive questions stretched to four days or more, and I was twice asked to share my digital certificate, a serious request when apoderamiento is the standard alternative.
When I eventually escalated by email, I received a response that defended every error rather than addressing them and contained factually incorrect statements about Spanish tax law. By that point I had already moved my file to another gestor who corrected the issues quickly.
Four months for a basic SLU constitution, executed with errors and defended rather than fixed. I would not contract them again, and I would not recommend them.
Marina is a life saver. Her care, attention to detail and relentless attitude towards achieving what we needed to get done, is second to none. Can't thank you enough Marina - and highly recommend anyone considering using Balcells group to ask Marina to handle your work - she's brilliant.

Posting on behalf of my spouse. Absolutely worst service received from a lawyer. There was an issue with our citizenship application. The lawyer was not only unresponsive, but also did nothing to investigate the issue. We basically had to figure out what happened ourselves and tell her to take the next steps. Then she had the cheek to bill us when she didn’t even give us a quote beforehand. We consulted with another lawyer from another establishment who immediately pointed out possible causes so we were able to narrow down and pinpoint the issue. I don’t know how the lawyers from this firm passed their bar exams. Absolutely garbage. The lack of communication when a service was paid for is inexcusable. Zero integrity. I would give 0 stars. As someone else had pointed out, trust the negative reviews.

Extremely disappointed
Extremely disappointed with the administrative handling of our case. We paid a consultation fee on April 29th, after which the firm committed to our profile, issued a formal service quote, and provided us with a list of required documents for a Spanish researcher visa.
However, after holding our application and our money for 29 days, the firm suddenly notified us that they would not proceed with the service. This massive delay has severely disrupted our family’s relocation timeline from Sweden to Spain and caused unnecessary professional stress.
Taking payment and keeping an urgent immigration client waiting for nearly a month only to back out is highly unprofessional. We have requested a full refund of our bank transfer and expect management to process it immediately. Avoid if you have a strict timeline.

Hablé para pedir informes, y qué pena que un buen trabajo de los abogados se vea afectado por una pésima recepcionista. Que encima de una mala actitud, me dio información contradictoria a lo que dice la página web. Me comentó que para consulta de Ley Beckham, el costo era 150 para una llamada de 45 min. y en la web anuncia que es 75 euros y si es con el CEO 125 euros. Este tipo de gente poco capacitada, que no tiene clara la información y aparte cero actitud y noción de atención al cliente profesionalmente hablando, literal les bloquea el negocio.

I had an excellent experience with Balcells Group, especially with Ines Molina and her colleague Maria Bernado. They accompanied our immigration process in Spain (residence of a EU family member). We were originally going to use them for our NLV to Spain and paid for a deposit that was roughly over 1k €.
My partner ended up getting a job offer internally and their employer sponsored our move. This meant we no longer needed Balcells.
I asked for a refund of our deposit, even a partial refund and they said no because of the documents they completed for us.
I reviewed said documents and they have so many errors and would have required a request from me to fix those errors.
It is such a shame that they wouldn’t even offer a partial refund being that we didn’t go with them. I would’ve even accepted credit to use them for any future services.
Very bad experience.
They handled my residence permit renewal with clear incompetences.. On top of that, they don’t even inform you when your application gets rejected you have to find out by yourself.
It is extremely difficult to get any information or proper support. They barely respond, and when they do, it’s too late. They show no sense of responsibility or urgency, even when your situation is critical.
Because of their lack of professionalism and care, my application was rejected and I lost my job. And honestly, they don’t seem to care at all about the consequences for their clients.
Be very careful with the positive reviews they do not reflect the reality.
