I agree with an earlier review in that if I could give 0 stars, I would. My husband and I have talked for years about having a pool put in at our home. We recently inherited some $ and decided that this would be the year! We were so excited!!! My husband found Backyard Pool and Patio of Bloomington on Facebook. We made contact with Joshua Frost (Executive Director) and he seemed great with answering our questions and assisting us with the purchase of our above ground pool. The problem began when Josh ordered and delivered the wrong size pool. He refused to take responsibility for this but instead sent us an "out of context" email and said that my husband had told him to order the smaller pool. Shortly after that, we noticed that someone had hacked into my husband's email account and deleted the files that were related to our communication with Josh. These were the only files that were deleted from my husband's account. Someone had also altered at least one email and also altered the contract to make it look like we had agreed to the smaller size pool. We couldn't believe that anyone would go to this length to cover up a "mistake" but it happened! We now wonder if it was ever a mistake but instead a deliberate act because we paid for the larger pool and have a smaller one. So someone got not only the commission but the extra difference in price. We asked for a refund (had to pay for the entire pool up front) and were told that we would have to pay a 25% restocking fee. When we refused to pay for Josh's mistake (by paying a restocking fee), the company (in their words) 'terminated the relationship with the customer'. Before the termination, Josh accused us of not cooperating with the refund process but this was, we believe, just a "smoke and mirrors" tactic to cover his tracks. We have wasted our whole summer trying to get our $ back and to get their pool returned to them. Our dream pool turned into a nightmare. Please don't let this happen to you!

If you’re looking for an awesome company to install your pool in Central Il Backyard Pool and Patio was absolutely wonderful to work with. Jake the owner was incredible, hands on at the install every day. Lindsey our Sales associate was knowledgeable, quick to respond. We could not have been happier. And the process of installing the pool was a lot easier than we thought, mainly because they arranged for everything from a tree removal, electric, concrete. We also chose a beautiful pool that was in stock so we were able to start the install less than a week after signing the contract. We had reached out to several other pool companies in the area and our choice to go with Backyard Pool and Patio was the right one!! And lastly our pool looks absolutely beautiful.

I WOULD GIVE THIS COMPANY A ZERO IF I COULD! WE BOUGHT A POOL PAID CASH OVER 7000! POOL CONTINUED TO BE DELAYED OVER AND OVER AGAIN! FINALLY MY HUSBAND SPOKE TO THE OWNER AND THE OWNER YELLED AT MY HUSBAND SAYING MYSELF AND MY HUSBAND ARE CALLING HIM EVERYDAY THEN SAID WE WERE BEING UNPROFESSIONAL! WELL MY HUSBAND ASKED FOR A REFUND AND THE OWNER WAS GOING TO REFUND US! THAT WAS OVER A MONTH AGO AND HE WILL NOT ANSWER OR RETURN OUR MONEY! THEIR THIEVES AND LIARS!

We can't say enough about Rod and his entire crew. Very helpful with great information and advice on choice of our in ground pool and installation. They were very professional and went out of their way to make every step of our pool process a great experience. I previously purchased a Primo XL grill and went back for a Primo Jr. They were a great choice for our grills and pool. I am a DIY guy on most projects and Rod went out of his way to help me save tons of money on my retaining wall by putting a footer in and showing me how to do it myself. He also did a cement pad for our new DIY pool house and brought dirt and rock in for my DIY landscape. They will be our one stop shop for all future pool & patio needs. I highly recommend Backyard Pool & Patio great knowledge and zero pressure and all great folks to work with.

Great customer service! They are so helpful and friendly. We are thrilled with our hot tub purchase and the continued assistance with water samples and chemicals.

I called them early August for a quote on a new pool cover. they mentioned that they were very busy and would be able to come out in three weeks-five weeks later, i called to see if they were coming out and the gentleman i spoke with was very rude and said they were too busy and didn't want to come out. They did not bother to atleast call and let me know they did not want my business so that i could have called someone else. never work with these people. very rude.

The employees are rude and take advantage of customers! I went in to get my water tested shortly after everything opened back up. Firstly, not a single employee in there was wearing a mask! I went in there around 3:55PM and before the woman tested my water she says to me, "You do realize we close at 4, right....?" I told her the hours on google listed that they were open until 6, and showed her on my phone. I offered to leave and come back the next day and she declined. If it was a huge issue, I wish she would have told me after she was done testing the water, because it came off as rude, and that my business wasn't appreciated. I am a relatively new pool owner and have had ongoing issues with metals in my pool. I have spent HUNDREDS of dollars at this store purchasing products per their recommendation to resolve the issue. They swore up and down that the metals were coming from our heater. THANK GOD I wasn't conned into replacing it. After some research, I learned that many chlorine pucks have traces of copper in them. Sure enough, I looked at the label of the Bioguard branded pucks that they sold me and COPPER is listed as an ingredient right on the label. I have since switched to liquid chlorine for the summer and guess what? No more metals in my pool! I highly suggest everyone avoid this place, and invest in your own testing kit. You will save money in the long run!

People here are so helpful and friendly

Unfortunately I did not feel comfortable staying in the store because a store associate was not wearing a mask. Two times they got up close in my personal space without a mask on. We are in a global pandemic, all should do their part to encourage safety.
