We recently participated in the Basic Life Skills class with our newly adopted dog at Authentic Canine Training, and it was a fantastic experience. We learned so much and truly enjoyed every session. Kelsey, our trainer, was friendly and kind, and her approach to understanding our dog's behavior was incredibly insightful. She helped us see things from our dog's perspective, which made accommodating and training her much easier. The training sessions have greatly improved our bond with our dog. We highly recommend Authentic Canine Training to anyone looking to build a strong, positive relationship with their furry friend.
Kelsey really helped me understand how to build a happy, confident relationship with my two pups. We took her basic life skills course and learned so much in just 8 weeks. Plus, the group classes were very affordable and provided some real life distractions that my dogs and I could incorporate into the exercises.
I enrolled for puppy training camp which is 2hrs a week for 4 weeks. My little 4 month husky just finished her third class. No complaints from me. The ladies that were training are so nice, so calm and wonderful at helping understand the little quirks of puppy life. Reminders are sent out every week as well as training info to practice while at home. I am very satisfied with the training. Recommend for sure.

Kelsey and Samantha provide a super fun and positive learning environment for dogs and their humans. They're knowledgeable and eager to share their expertise in a manner that is very helpful and conducive to learning. I loved taking my dog to teenage socials for an enriching and structured play time! This was both fun for me and my dog! Thank you and keep up the great work!
So far we have done Puppy Kindergarten, Puppy Socials, Small Dog Social, and Teen Social. Our experience has been fantastic! Kelsey is a very good and knowledgeable trainer. And they have a great facility with lots of space for the puppies to play safely. They also rearrange the rooms periodically with different small playground equipment for socialization. I would highly recommend them!

I have been to a few teen socials with my 10 month old crazy pants Boston terrier. Samantha and Kelsey do an amazing job teaching the dogs play safely while encouraging their individuality. They offer a lot of helpful about the diffident dogs different cues and what they are communicating.
I’ve also taken my dog to the training camp with Kelsey and Samantha. Those sessions were also invaluable to me and their compassion was beyond words. They were extremely diligent about teaching skills that fit into my life and ensured that each command had a realistic purpose for my dog. At the same time, they took the time to transfer the skills to the owners in a variety of methods (to ensure they targeted the auditory, visual, read/write, kinesthetic/tactile learners they provided skill transfer in person so we could practice, through videos and in written form so we could review later). Lastly, they are available to questions after training, if needed.

My puppy and I love taking training classes here. Kelsea is great at making everyone feel welcome and capable. She is awesome at working with your dog where they are currently at. There is no judgment about what your dog cannot do yet. Instead she gives great modifications and tips for helping you both reach your goals. She also explains what's probably going on in your pup's mind, so that you can better understand their perspective, which helps you understand the rational for the training strategies. In addition, I enjoyed having a written copy of homework to every week, because it can be difficult to remember exactly what to practice and how. It's also helpful for catching up if you need to miss a class. In sum, I highly recommend Authentic Canine Training! :)

Puppy social classes were expertly guided and the facilitator was very knowledgeable, friendly and caring. I would recommend this class to any puppy owner as dog socialization is a critical skill.

For someone who was struggling with a Puppy for the first time, having someone like Kelsey to help walk me through the training process is something I will never take for granted. From the time he was 9 weeks old to now being almost 2 and a half, when it comes to Training, and Bath time. Bumi and I trust no one more than Kelsey. I now cant drive or walk past the building without the boy making it known he wants to go say hi!.

We enrolled our 15 week old puppy in the Puppy Summer Camp with Authentic Canine and I can’t say enough good things about it. We are first time puppy owners and having this extra boost of socialization at such a crucial age and with the guidance of excellent trainers has had a huge positive impact on our dog. She’s better in her crate, on leash, in new situations and at the vet. Our vet even commented on how well behaved she is on our last visit. Kelsey and Samantha were fantastic and kept us updated with photos and more importantly behaviour and new experiences. I highly recommend this program to any new puppy owners.

Samantha is great at facilitating these sessions and for her information! The length of sessions is great, longer than others in town which means more time learning. The space includes fun objects to interact with as well as just the puppies. I am learning about my dog specifically in a controlled way. Also, the puppy LOVES being in the pen.

I took my puppy Detmer to Puppy Kindergarten with Kelsey and I can't say enough good things about the class! The curriculum focusing on socialization and intro to important puppy skills like recall and body handling is thoughtfully put together. The handouts sent as homework were very helpful and well timed to having a new pup at home. Pups got some time to play and then we each had own space in designated pens for the rest of the lesson. This was great as it made it easy to listen in class while my pup focused on chewing a bone between exercises. It also made me feel very comfortable as it was easy to maintain social distancing. Kelsey is a very knowledgable, kind and helpful instructor. Would highly recommend this course to puppy owners, new and experienced! I'm excited to see Kelsey branching off as Authentic Canine after so many years running her training through K9HQ!
