Michael was a wonderfully welcoming and communicative host, providing clear check-in instructions and making us feel looked after throughout our short stay. This is a special place. Our host Jonathan was very nice and made us feel welcome. The cabin is very comfortable and well equipped. The gardens are beautiful. We wished we could have stayed longer and would definitely stay again if we are back in the area. Highly recommend!

What a dreamy stay! Jonathan and Michael are both great - Jonathan's responses are really detailed and he even gives me some travel tips. We're really glad we booked this wooden house. We're all a bit reluctant to leave. Anyway, it's a house that really lets your imagination run wild.
Beautiful place to stay! Loved the beds all together made our stay with the children more exciting for the kids. Loads of space to move around and cook along with kids playing, stunning and we’d recommend for sure!!
We had an overnight stay and to say it was all the soul needed would be an understatement. The property is spacious, clean, airy but most of all its welcoming in its own charm filled way. It literally has everything you could hope for all wrapped up in fairy lights. M/J are fab hosts, you know they are there if you need them but they allow you all the space and solitude you secretly want. We will 100% be back. Thank you for sharing your slice of paradise with us.

We had a lovely stay in this cosy log cabin. Beautiful garden where our children enjoyed playing badminton and spotting the guinea fowl. We received a warm welcome before being left to enjoy the peace and comfort of this very characterful cabin. Would highly recommend and would love to come back.
Exceptional value.Just a meeting place to meet friends on a journey round Scotland. They were very happy with the lodge, which made me happy. Highly recommended.
Myself, my partner and our dog Daisy had a fabulous time relaxing and enjoying the beautiful cabin. No need for WiFi as we spent our time either exploring around the area or enjoying our nights by the fire :) The living room was our favourite by far with the amazing painted ceiling and the comfortable sofas and lounges. Would definitely come back again!
We loved our stay at the cabin. Such a beautiful space , perfect for our weekend of rest with family and playing board games by the fire. Helpful hosts and only a short trip from Edinburgh. Wouldn’t hesitate to return.

Thank you for a lovely stay! The cabin is beautiful, unique and deceptively spacious. Jonathan was a great host, responsive and kind enough to greet us when we arrived. As fellow countryside dwellers, we much preferred the cabins rural location for exploring Edinburgh and the surrounding area. Highlights included the stunning roof, the best set of keys I have ever seen and the kids loved the green range Guinea Fowl. Myself, my wife and 3 daughters spent 5 lovely nights here. The cabin was very spacious but also cosy. A great base for exploring the area, especially after being offered lots of knowledge and ideas by Micheal.
Our stay was everything we didn't know we needed. Peaceful and the perfect place to take my parents and children. So much fun in the evenings playing boardgames by the fire and enjoying family time together. As a keen rugby player son was so intrigued by the rugby memorabilia and created his own story as to what position was played to gain such a trophy. Whilst my parents enjoyed the ceiling in the living room creating their own story to it's origin creating so many talking points. Jonathan was attentive to the small details even ensuring their was coffee/tea and milk available on arrival. Telling us the closest amenities and even had a book of trips and activities in Edinburgh. He was only a call away if needed but still afforded us the freedom to enjoy special family time together. Cannot wait to visit again.
Beautiful cabin in a private location. The host jonathan was spot on with communication from the moment we booked and throughout check in. After a quick tour he left us to enjoy the property with our two young children. The property was generous in size and surrounding grounds …….. unfortunately it was raining during our stay, but being inside by the log fire was perfect ! The kids loved playing in the upstairs open plan bedroom and looking for the birds in the grounds. Highly recommend for a cosy night away.
