My experiences with The Washington Dental Studio have been very favorable. I have been a patient of Doctor Ebb for over two years. Reason being, that he specializes in crown and bridge work. In my opinion, Dr.Ebb does his best to make you feel at ease and confident that whatever service is rendered will be done to your satisfaction with minimum trauma!
Also, his staff is a great complement to Dr Ebb. They are professional and make you feel that you are welcomed in a relaxed manor.
The Washington Dental Studio is close to Metro making it an excellent place for your dental needs!
This place is trash. They judge you based on what you bring to the table. I had a toothache and told them I was experiencing extreme, recurring pain. After explaining my issue, they did an X-ray—which I thought was to diagnose and treat the root cause. Instead, they just gave me a cleaning and tried to upsell me on crowns.
Next thing I know, they handed me a cost analysis. When I asked what they could do about the actual pain—explaining again that it comes and goes and is sometimes unbearable—the guy just said I could buy over-the-counter painkillers.
Mind you, I have good insurance, but they didn’t listen to anything I had to say. All they cared about was the upsell. After leaving, I did some research and found that there are other ways to treat the root cause of pain. This place is unethical. I’ll be looking for a second opinion elsewhere.

My appointment was at 8:00am. I arrived at 7:55am. I waited until 8:27am to be called, only after a white man who walked in literally at 8:25am. I mentioned to the front desk how long I had been there before the man and I was told by one woman behind the desk, that they were getting the room ready for me. I informed her that I should have been called before the man and the other woman who was behind the desk was shaking her head in agreement with me (because she knew it was wrong) Mind you, I have been to this dentist office several times before but the first time in my hijab. (I’m not saying they are racist, but that’s how it felt, in that moment) I walked out without getting my teeth cleaned and now in search of a new dentist. Very disappointing!
This dental office is AMAZING! New to DC, and in need of emergency dental care. Usually I’m apprehensive and anxious when it comes to dental work. Dr. Ebbs AND his entire staff were professional and genuinely attentive before, during and AFTER my visit. Very understanding , and made my entire process a pleasant experience from being referred to other just as attentive dental care professionals, to ensuring the follow-up actions were handled. Can’t believe I’m actually looking forward to my next visit! 5 stars easily!
I had an absolutely terrible experience at this dental office. I originally went in to fix one crown, but the dentist told me I needed six. I trusted their judgment, but the results were a disaster.
First, the crowns did not match in color, and one of them was so poorly shaped that I looked like a vampire. Worse, I developed a severe infection, which caused me extreme pain for weeks.
When I went back to the clinic, instead of addressing the issue, they simply handed me a referral to another dentist—without the dentist even speaking to me. At the second clinic, the new dentist told me that my crown was badly done, my nerve was exposed, and I needed an emergency root canal. I then had to deal with a month-long infection because of the poor dental work. The second dentist told me I had to go back to the original dentist to fix the crown, but at that point, I lost all trust in them. Now, I have to travel all the way to Brazil to get this fixed.
I emailed the original dentist, explaining the situation and requesting compensation for all the expenses I had due to their mistakes. They refused to take any responsibility. When I asked for a copy of my X-ray, they gave me nothing but bureaucratic runaround, making me fill out a bunch of paperwork but never actually sending me the X-ray.
So, I went in person to the clinic to pick it up, and that’s when things got even worse. The front desk lady yelled at me, called me all kinds of names, and acted completely unprofessional. I have everything recorded on camera as proof.
This clinic is an absolute nightmare—unethical, unprofessional, and irresponsible. They do terrible work, take no accountability, and treat patients with disrespect. Avoid this place at all costs!
I have read all of the horror stories and I have one before I even went to this dentist. I have called their office 3xs and I left an extremely detailed message that included my email address, best time of day to contact me, and mobile contact. I have never received a return phone call. After what I read regarding this dentistry, I assure you I will never ever patron this establishment. They need to fire the entire front desk staff and the Radiographer (X-ray tech) knows better than to offer diagnostic medical advice. The ASRT exclusively forbids it and it falls under the category of Scope of Practice and they can be sued for malpractice. I know because I am in school right now studying Radiological Science. SMHRS! So if your dental work was jacked-up and you received medical diagnostic advice from an "xray tech" I would consult a lawyer regarding malpractice. It's called practicing medicine without a license.

Went to them over a decade ago. They said I needed thousands of dollars work. I did not take their advice. I moved several times since then and seen four other dentists who all adamantly disagreed with Washington Dental Studio's assessment. I would not be writing this review but they keep spamming me with email even though I have clicked ussubscribed.
I went to this dental office today and they totally screwed up my copay. I walked out paying over $3,000. The receptionist is incredibly rude and the hygienist seems to not know what she is doing. I have been going to Dr Madison for over 29 yrs. Please, I wish she would end her time here and go to a more reputable dental practice. DO NOT GO HERE.
I love Dr. Madison and I wish she would move to a different practice. I have not interacted with Dr. Ebbs.
My review is based off the receptionist and billing dept. I knew it was time to switch offices when I was scared to call the office. Erica has good and bad days and it always felt like I bothered her when I called. It’s unfortunate because I love supporting my folks. The billing also could use a re-vamp. I knew if I paid the higher price from an expired insurance that I would never see my money again. Bummer.
In 2023, I had a dental procedure scheduled pending approval from my insurance. However, they already deducted the sum of $200 from my account on 9/27/2023. My insurance then denied the procedure. Ever since, I have been calling them to refund my $200 since the procedure did not go through anymore. And I still need my money. This is outright bullying and stealing

Never again. After being a loyal patient for 15+ years, I had the same exact experience as C. Denny Newhouse from a month ago, and many others on Yelp. The hygienist took X-rays, said two teeth show decay, recommended two crowns, quoted an absurd price. I balked, so he reduced it by $1,000. Since when does a Xray tech diagnose anyway? And the negotiating just felt gross. Dr. Ebbs saw me for maybe a minute and confirmed the decay and need for two crowns. I said I'd think about it and left. Got a recommendation for a dental office that specializes in second opinions. This dentist looked at my X-rays and was truly puzzled. He said there is absolutely zero dental work I need and that all my teeth are perfectly healthy. Dr. Ebbs and Washington Dental Studio has gone downhill. I shudder to think of how many people have paid for expensive dental work and sat through painful procedures unnecessarily. Avoid this dental office and do not trust them!
I should have read all the other reviews saying how awful this place was - it is truly terrible and I was almost taken advantage of by them. I was told by the X-ray technician I needed crowns, which should have been a red flag (this was within seconds and without an actual dentist around). They rushed the whole thing - like others have said in their reviews - and did not explain the process to me but quickly got me to pay almost $2k (I will get a refund don’t worry). I then didn’t hear from them for almost 2 weeks though I called every day and emailed a ton. That actually ended up being in my favor bc it made me realize I wanted to cancel with them for being so unprofessional. They were really rude too, in addition to being not responsive. I ended up getting two second opinions for two other dentists and both said there was NO NEED for any crowns at all. In other words, these guys were straight up just trying to cheat me. It’s insane. Not only would they have taken my money, they also would have negatively impacted my dental health. I wish there was a place to report this kind of behavior so it could be investigated.
Just found out they jacked up all 3 of my root canals. Heard this from 2 different doctors one lady said the repair work will be extensive. I tried calling them yesterday to schedule an appointment for the pain. Lady on the phone was rude and short. Didn't ask my name to see if I was a previous patient just asked if I had insurance then said the don't have availability and are close on Friday. Dr Ebb was referred byt kin so this pisses me off to no end smd.

This is the worst dentist ever. Very unprofessional. I had dental work done my insurance paid half I paid the other half. Was done wrong a rush job. Once they received my money, they no longer needed my service. when I complain about how bad that the dentures were filling. They refused to adjust the dentures instead they stated we are just going to give you a refund. I threw the dentures in the trash. I do not recommend anyone going to this dental. Also have not received my refund. Not to mention, I took off three days from work to get this service done. I will be reaching out to the Better Business Bureau for help!
I had a bad experience and won't go back. They cleaned my teeth for 5 minutes during a regular check-up and did x-rays. A technician suggested to the Dentist they do a crown operation. The technician approached me in the dentist chair, brought me my purse, and asked for my debit card to immediately charge $800 before I had a chance to think.
I came home and read several awful Yelp reviews on Washington Dental Studio about crowns and other procedures that were faulty or done wrong. I cancelled my appointment for the crown and reminded the receptionist several times to refund my money. I never received the refund and had to dispute this charge through my bank.
Do your research before going here- the location is convenient but the unprofessionalism of the staff is obvious and I was scared away by others' stories of the quality of care.
