Yesterday, representative Jay Keramat arrived at our house on time as promised. He was very personable and quickly went to work evaluating our current AC system in order to ultimately deliver Air 1's proposed estimate for replacing it with a similar, new system. We are very satisfied with his visit and are now waiting to receive the company's written proposal via email. Air 1 is one of many contractors who are bidding on this work.

Our AC unit went out during a hot summer night. I called Air One and left a message that night. Someone returned my call early the next morning and Jay Keramat came out within a couple of hours. He is a Carrier Certified HVAC Specialist. He diagnosed the problem fast and offered a number of options from replacing our entire system to just fixing the broken component. Talking with Jay about his thoughts on the life of our system made me feel informed and like I made the right decision. I would recommend Air One to anyone for speed, service, and honesty. When it does come time to replace our system, I will definately be calling Air One for some estimates and feel confident that they'll recommend and install exactly what I need.

I had a previous contractor come out and check out my hvac unit and they mentioned that my condenser was failing and that it needed cleaning. That company refused to clean it themselves as they didn't have a long enough hose since I lived on the top floor of my building. With this information, I asked Air1 if this diagnosis from the previous company was correct, if they could clean my unit and if they had the equipment to do so. They said they were able to, so I scheduled an appointment but wanted a second diagnosis to ensure that the services done would fix my hvac. The Air1 technician came out and said that I needed 2 parts replaced and 2 parts cleaned (what was cleaned was not the condenser coils nor was it the condenser itself). I paid a hefty amount (around 900 dollars) to get this completed, trusting that it would fix the issue. The following day I called back as I noticed my unit was not able to cool below 82 degrees. The technician came back the next day to look at the unit and said that I need to replace the entire unit due to the condenser failing. He said that he would give me a quote for the new unit and that he would give me deductions for the previous cleaning and unnecessary replacements completed towards the replacing of the unit. The total price seemed high, so afterwards I requested a quote from another company for an hvac unit and installation that was significantly cheaper. I called Air1 back to request a refund for what they pre-charged me for future work that wasn’t done, as well as the annual cleaning package that the technician sold me. I was also hopeful that I could get back some of my money from the services as it was a misdiagnosis by the technician but the representative on the phone seemed more upset that I wasn’t moving forward with getting my unit replaced with their company and didnt give me any money back for the 2 part cleaning and 2 part replacement that was unnecessary in the first place for me to pay for. However, I do understand that labor was done to clean and replace parts—it did not fix the issue and now I have to pay for a brand new unit. A discount on a 900 dollar charge would have been the proper way to handle the issue. They did offer to match the price of the other hvac company but I refused as I would rather go to a company that didn’t upcharge me from the start and wasn’t trying to sell me additional services.

I highly recommend Air 1. I called them in the evening to schedule an appointment for the next day. The technician, Jay K. was very professional and knowledgeable.

Great and prompt service

As a new homeowner, Jay explained everything happening with our HVAC system thoroughly and was very friendly and easy to talk to. He took care walking through our house wearing booties and being nice to our dogs. Very grateful for his service!

I've used Air 1 a handful of times -- for repairs and once for a complete unit replacement -- and I've been completely satisfied every time. They are timely, polite, and professional. Jay is very thorough and great at explaining the diagnosis as well as potential solutions. They are comparable cost-wise to other service providers in the area. Highly recommend.

Great experience working with Air 1! Jay Keramat showed up on time, asked pertinent questions, looked at several things on 10-yr old HVAC, and provided several different quotes within the hour. We had quotes from two other companies and this was by far the most competitive with more variables than others offered as well (parts and total system replacement).
