I absolutely do not recommend this company for towing services, as—unfortunately—they did not do a good job. I called yesterday, 4/29/26, made the payment, and scheduled a pickup for my car today, 4/30/26, at 9:00 AM; however, it is now 4:00 PM, and they still haven't picked it up. I had called earlier today at 10:00 AM to ensure everything was on track, and they told me they were on their way, with an estimated arrival time of 45 minutes, explaining that they had been delayed due to issues with the tow truck. Ultimately, I cancelled the service with them; they offered no immediate solution, leaving me to wait literally all day, only for them to end up doing nothing at all!

I'm sorry to hear about your experience, but I wanted to reach out because we can't find any record of a call from you today, nor have we had any truck issues or missed appointments.
We are the American Towing located in Youngsville North Carolina, and we noticed your other reviews appear to be for businesses in the Orlando area. We only operate in the north Raleigh area of North Carolina.
There is another company with the same name in Orlando. Is it possible the review was left on the wrong location? We are not connected to them in any way.
If this was meant for us and something went wrong, please call or text me directly so I can look into it personally and make it right.

Had an accident 2/23/26 they charged $760 .Picked the car up this morning and they only wanted cash. JUST FEEL SCAMMED! They I had to pay $80 for them to tow it 20 minutes away no receipt for taking it to my house. I wouldn't recommend suspicious behavior from these 2. First day I was told it was $350 the price changed in less than 24hrs.

I'm sorry this experience left you feeling scammed and frustrated. Accidents are already incredibly stressful, and we never want to add to that burden. As the owner of this small business, it’s tough to read reviews like yours because we pride ourselves on fair pricing and reliable service in tough situations.
I do not like to make public comments for everyone to read on the internet, but since it is on Google, I feel as though I have to respond.
I need to clarify on the $760 charge: This was for a complex tow where your vehicle was entangled in a power pole. Our team was on scene for hours, coordinating with the utility company to safely de-energize and remove the lines before the vehicle could be freed and towed. Ultimately, the pole had to be cut. These utility-involved recoveries require extended standby time, specialized handling, and safety protocols, which is why the price is higher than a standard tow.
Regarding the $80 tow from our yard to your house (about 20 minutes away): Local rates start at $125 for similar short-distance tows, so $80 was kept deliberately low to help you out during a difficult time.
We understand you mentioned no receipt for that portion. We do not have a printer in the truck for on-the-spot paper receipts in every situation, but we can (and do) email or text a detailed receipt right away upon request. Just let us know your preferred method, and we'll send it immediately.
On payment: We don't accept credit cards in these high-risk, on-scene accident situations for security and processing reasons (common in the industry to avoid chargebacks or delays when insurance is involved later).
If there's anything we can do to address your concerns further, please contact us directly on our main number. Screaming and yelling at our hard-working and honest drivers is not the right way to handle things. I would kindly request that you remove this one-star review because Google reviews and our reputation are important.

Top Notch Service! I am moving out of state and had to tow a car in for scrap, and my driver knew all the ins and outs of the local scrap yard! He also was crucial in towing the car in as one side of the car had no tie rods. The rate was also cheaper than what another guy had quoted me and well worth it!

Happy to be of service, Larry. Thanks for your review!
Southern Hospitality at it's best. Just a great group of people. My family and I were getting ready to leave on vacation on Father's Day. My pickup got stuck and I couldn't find any of my neighbors to help out. I called American Towing and Recovery. They came fairly quickly (especially on a Sunday morning). My truck was in an awkward position, but the driver worked it out. He wished me a happy Father's Day and said there was no charge.
It's this kind of special treatment that makes me happy to support local businesses. I highly recommend American Towing and Recovery in Youngsville
I needed to have 3 abandoned vehicles removed from a property. I called American Towing and Recovery. I talked on the phone with Anthony. He made a great first impression. He told me that they could provide the services I needed and could work around my schedule. Early the next morning Ronny arrived at the site with a rollback truck. As Ronny worked it was clear to see that he had a lot of experience at his job. He was very efficient at what he did and he completed the work much faster than I anticipated. I found their towing fees to be very reasonable. I would highly recommend them. They will be my go to company for any future towing needs.
