Maintenance, dishwasher, flooring, helping fix problems are all very poor. Horrible communication too.

I am extremely disappointed with the management at Allura Las Colinas. The current property manager, he is incredibly unprofessional and lacks basic communication skills. Instead of addressing resident concerns, he makes inappropriate and 'stupid' jokes that are completely out of place. Itâs frustrating to deal with someone who doesnât take their job or the residents seriously. Shows stupidity and attitude.

Edit- as of the end of March- The new management has truly transformed the property for the better. In just 3 months, I've seen significant improvements: cleaner hallways, timely trash pickup, and a huge upgrade in maintenance responsiveness. I recently moved to a different apartment and I'm loving it! The office staff are efficient and professional, and the maintenance team is top-notch. Kudos to the new team - it's like a whole new place. Rating's gone from 0 to 7 đ

If I could give them 0 stars I would. Ever since I moved in has been horrible. From fire alarms in the middle of the night to roaches and mold. I know a lot of people wonât believe or might think itâs an exaggeration. But believe me!
* gym is old and most of the machines broken
* pool was dirty in summer time
* stuff keeps changing
Upon our move in they showed us an apartment that looked quite nice. When we moved in, they said if we wanted that apartment we had to pay extra.
* tried to cancel the application and they told us we would face legal fees
* day of move in, Apartment was dirty they said they donât have stuff to clean it
* AC was broken and didnât get fixed until 4 days later
* hallways are always dirty

While I ultimately went with a different complex, I wanted to acknowledge Hailey, one of the leasing agents at Allura on how wonderful of a job she did. She was the utmost professional and provided all I asked and more. She was super responsive and kind. By far the best agent I have worked with. Give her a raise because she goes above and beyond to communicate and provide top class service

This place is has the worse fire alarm system. Every week fire alarm goes off for no reason. Sometime itâs in the middle of the night, sometimes itâs during the day. There are no warnings of any testings. If you want peace, this is not the place. You will be constantly bothered by the fire
alarm. It is very loud and annoying.

Iâve called emergency maintenance three times to fix my toilet thatâs been broken and leaking for a week and each time sent to voicemail. Put in 6 request since last week to fix it and each time itâs either they donât have a copy of the key or donât even show up . Gave a copy of my key to get in and maintenance still hasnât shown up. Why am I having to go to the gym just to pee!!! Put in request to fix my smoke detector and it says it was fixed yet itâs going off again. Iâm annoyed with the service or lack there of. I shouldnât be out of a working toilet for a week going into 2 weeks and a smoke detector thatâs still going off after it was supposedly fixed.

I had been here for just under a year and  renewed my lease, I love this area and they are by far the cheapest without compromising on quality. I was at a different complex in the area and Allura is night and day. Every issue Iâve had has been addressed, the people in the leasing office are great, the pool is fantastic in summer and just the overall feel of the community. I take my dog on a walk every day to and from the dog park and itâs just nice and quiet. I see the workers all the time and they are not only nice but busy maintaining things around. Couldnât be happier to be here.

I would like to take back everything nice that i have said about this property. It has now been 3 months since we left our apartment and we have yet to receive a refund on our deposit. We have contacted them many times and we get the run around, have sent emails and have not heard back. DO NOT COME HERE!!.
The statement below was said because it started well with some very nice and helpful people that have since been fired and are not there anymore.
Our leasing experience at Allura has been the best I have gone through so far. Marissa really made sure all of our questions and concerns were answered and was very patient with us. We toured the complex with her and she showed us all of the great amenities it has. We canât wait to move in!

UPDATES: moved out after two years.
The rent was raised considerably and we donât understand the reasoning. The apartments are older and the amenities arenât truly as described. Yet they want to charge LUXURY LIVING prices when the complex itself is not luxury. The fitness center is subpar and the management team and their control over the property definitely took a dive there towards the end. I reported safety issues several times (such as lighting in the garage stairwells, lighting around the property) and it took them months to even address it. The garage lighting is still poor, many lights are just completely out and have yet to be replaced).
The stupid fire alarms would go off randomly and at the worst possible times (2 am usually). The complex sends out apology emails but never got to the bottom of why the alarms would go off.
CONS:
The apartment itself is billed as luxury living but it is just standard, in my opinion. Definitely not worth the price we are paying.
The amenities are just ok: the pool is nice and clean for the most part but the FITNESS CENTER is garbage. All the equipment is either old, or old and broken. I tried working out there a few times but it was just subpar and definitely not worthy of the "amenity fee" we are charged.
FEES: when getting info and before signing, we were told our fees would "average" out to a certain number. We were told our first month or so would be abnormally higher due to the prorated amounts but then that our monthly bill for utilities and amenities would taper off. This did not happen. I called to ask what the deal was and was told that they had "miscalculated" and that they were sorry for misspeaking on that. Just beware, your fees will probably be $75-125 dollars more than they tell you they will be.
They will be a little pushy regarding renewals and signing, once you hand over your information. And no they wont just give you information, they will take down all of your info FIRST and then answer your questions.
PROS:
The management team is better than other properties I've lived in, they answer quickly and do their best to keep things smoothly for the tenants. My full and complete props, however, go to the maintenance team. They do their best to resolve issues within a few hours of getting work orders. They keep the property more or less clean and pick up valet trash every MWF, as promised, unlike other properties.
LOCATION is prime. Love the location. You can definitely find apartments that are a bit more affordable than Allura though, even though they will tell you that you won't. Do your own research and don't feel pressured to sign right away. Take your time.
Marissa is great to work with, she has put a name to the face and we enjoy dealing with her at the office. She is great and is good at her job.
The apartment complex is nice, i feel safe for the most part. Haven't had any crazy issues yet. I still feel we are overpaying for what we got here but, i also didn't want to go through a move again.
ORIGINAL REVIEW:
Marissa was a joy to work with, she was truly there for us every step of the way. We toured with her and she really wanted to know everything about what we were looking for in a home. Her attention to detail made the experience 100% reassuring and she really sold the complex and the experience to us. We knew immediately that this was where we wanted to live. Allura has a great ambassador in Marissa.

Do NOT move into Allura Apartments. They are dishonest and completely ignore health and safety issues.
I was shown a model unit while out of state and told it would be the exact same as the one Iâd move into. When I arrived, the real unit was different, unfinished, and they refused to fix the mistake. I ended up forced to live there with my kids.
The apartment had a mold smell from day one. They never changed the air filter, and my children and I were constantly sick, including ER visits. In October, major leaks and visible mold spread through the unit. I reported it on October 27 and they did nothing for almost a month while we were getting sicker.
The place became unlivable and I had to take my kids to a hotel. When I tried to return the keys, the manager refused and tried to blame me for their negligence.
I am now taking legal action for the health issues and unsafe conditions.
Save yourself and your family. Do not move here.
