I had to fight M.E. Flow to acknowledge an installation problem that was literally sitting in front of them. They installed a Carrier water-source heat pump in my Arlington condo in October 2025. The written scope included a new pan, water safety switch, and warranty/maintenance coverage. After installation, the unit was extremely loud, pushed too close to the wall on the return/filter side, and missing the auxiliary pan listed in the scope. For months, I was told nothing was wrong. They even sent the original installer back to inspect his own work twice, and both times he said everything was fine. It honestly felt like being gaslit over something obvious. Only after repeated calls, photos, follow-ups, and escalation did M.E. Flow finally acknowledge the issue. They came back, added the missing pan, and moved the unit about 7 inches from the wall — proving the original setup was not acceptable. Now they still owe me written confirmation of the warranty extension I was told I would receive because the unit ran for months in that condition. They corrected part of the problem, but I should not still be chasing accountability.

I chose this business based on their listing in the 2025 Prince William County Five Star Rated Guidebook. Initially very happy with communication and scheduling. My service was scheduled out a few weeks, which was fine, and ultimately ended up being during a prolonged heatwave which restricted their jobs to those without AC. Understandable, though I was disappointed that I wasn't notified about being postponed until about an hour before their expected arrival. Not a problem, and their text said they would contact me to reschedule. I waited over two weeks then I sent in a message requesting to reschedule. No response. They previously had been very fast and helpful with text messaging. Second attempt a week later. Still no response. I guess they have enough customers and don't need my business.

Downgraded from 5 stars to 2. TLDR: After years of being on their maintenance plan without issue, they ghosted me when I needed them. So I've been a customer of AirPlus for about 5 years. I've been on their annual maintenance plan where they would come and service our 2 AC units in the spring and our 2 furnaces in fall. Our units were original to the home, which was built in 2000. We pay for equipment breakdown coverage through our homeowner's insurance to help cover the cost of replacing these units if/when they die. So we start working with AirPlus in 2019. In 2021, one of our AC units is breathing its last breaths and AirPlus tech recommends replacement. We go through with it and have no issues. I wrote a glowing 5 star review at that time. The only issues we had with them up to this point was occasionally poor punctuality or scheduling, and the one technician who showed up smelling like weed and toting a bad attitude (We didn't complain about him or anything, just thought I'd mention that happened). Continue receiving regular service from them until now, fall of 2024. Call them, tell them my AC unit that is still original, not the replaced one, is making a bunch of noise. They say OK, schedule me for my fall service and say they'll have the tech take a look while he's there. Great. Tech comes, super nice guy, says the capacitors in both my furnaces are dying and out of spec, recommends replacing them, I say OK. $330 a pop! Oof, but I pay it. Says my AC is toast, recommends replacing it, but says he can't quote me, so I have to call to schedule a quote. OK. I call AirPlus same day (it's a Friday), and schedule the quote for the following Monday. On Monday, they call and say the estimate guy won't make it, ask to reschedule. Reschedule for Friday. On Friday, guy comes to give me an estimate, real friendly and knowledgeable, takes some pictures for me and sends them to me, says he recommends replacing BOTH the AC and the furnace. OK... says he'll send me a quote to replace both, and another quote to replace just the AC. Says his manager has to review and approve the quote before it comes to me, so I'll get it on Monday. Monday comes, nothing. Tuesday, nothing. Wednesday, I call them and ask about my quotes. The lady who answered the phone says the HVAC manager is unavailable, but she'll leave a note to send me a quote. I get a quote emailed to me a couple hours later to replace the AC and furnace for about $3k more than it should be. There is no cost breakdown, just the final number, and the description appears to be for a bigger unit than the one I have. I call and ask for a breakdown, both because I want it and my insurance wants it. They say OK, should have that to you by the end of the day. Nothing. I call Thursday and Friday, both times asking for an update, and both times I'm told the HVAC manager is not available, but they'll have it to me by the end of the day. I also mention that the unit on the quote is incorrect, and I ask if I'll be refunded for the brand new capacitor they just put in the furnace they're recommending I replace. Both are matters for the HVAC manager, who may or may not exist... Anyway, on Monday, I call in the morning, I say if they don't have a fixed quote for me that day, I'm going to another service provider. At this point, it has been over two weeks since the first visit, and over a week since the estimate visit. To this day, I have not heard from them. My understanding is that AirPlus was purchased by some kind of national parent company called Southern Home Services a couple years ago. Not sure if that has anything to do with the suddenly poor quality of service. I've taken my business to another local company, Residential Express, who was more than happy to swiftly take the business. I'll be using them from now on.

This team is great. Last week I had James (plumbing) and Daniel (HVAC) come out and provide a free estimate on replacing our 20+ year old Water Heater and HVAC system. Got scheduled to have both installed the following Tuesday. Today they installed both. James was great installing the Hot Water heater. We discovered that our water cutoff valve was not working. He was also able to replace that at the same time. Job was done very nicely, he explained the new Hot water heater. Left the work area cleaner than it was when he got here. Kiyan and his partner (didn't catch his name) installed the new HVAC system. Everything went well, the kept me informed as they were working. Kiyan went over the new system, showed me the filter and how to change it. The only issue we had was the UV light they had was to large and didn't fit in this system. They will be getting the correct size and coming back to install it. Both of them removed the old equipment and left the area cleaner than it was when they got here. Highly recommend. The team was back today to install the item that were the wrong size. Everything went great. Still Highly recommend.

Excellent work today by the AirPlus team. I was concerned about reaching my water shut-offs--getting past the humidifier parts--but my questions were answered, and I was pleased to learn that when I have my humidifier and a/c serviced by AirPlus (I signed up for this), their techs can turn the front/back hose bibs on and off. A small thing, but important.
