I lived in Africa for years and can say this place is extremely accurate African cuisine. Here's what I mean: 1. Always out of half the menu when you order. 2. Wildly inconsistent portion sizes 3. Pricey 4. No substitutions allowed. 5. food tastes amazing.

I have no choice but to give them all 5 stars. They catered during my daughter’s wedding, they went above board. Talk about their food, or their services, they went all out to see that we were all satisfied. Before the wedding, my family visited the Restaurant for food tasting. Days after the wedding we were still ordering for more. I’m not someone that gives reviews, but please check this Restaurant AGEGEBITE, Chandler Arizona.

We visited Agege Bite while in Phoenix, excited to try some Nigerian food, but unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. • Meat Pie: It was okay— I didn’t care much for it, but my daughter liked it and ate it all. • Efo Riro: This was just sauce and vegetables. It didn’t resemble or tasted like authentic efo riro. We ordered two plates—one came with two small pieces of goat meat, and the other had just one piece with bone. The family didn’t enjoy it. • Ponmo with Sauce: Lacked seasoning, including basic salt. It had potential but completely missed the mark. • Moi Moi: Clearly overheated in the microwave—it came out dry and burnt. We picked through the middle and left the rest of it there. • White Rice with Ayamase Sauce: The rice was extremely dry, obviously over-microwaved. That's shameful to serve customer something like that. The ayamase portion was small with barely any meat and one boiled egg just placed on top after cooking -like an afterthought. • Gizdodo: This was also overly microwaved but was the only dish that was somewhat manageable. To make matters worse, even though the restaurant closes at 7 PM, we arrived at 5:58 PM and were told the kitchen closes at 6:15 PM. While I understand the prep time involved with Nigerian cuisine and don’t mind dishes being pre-cooked or refrigerated, there’s a right way to reheat food—and microwaving everything to death is not it. We ate what we could and left the rest behind—none of us wanted to take the leftovers, which says a lot. We were truly hoping for a good experience and a taste of home, but sadly, this visit fell far short of expectations.

I just went to have a lunch with my friend…. The server was horrible. The attitude was nasty. She served my friend, I waited for 10-15 minutes before she brought my food. My friend was almost done eating. When ready to pay, I offered to pay and she said “$100,00 for the meal, ok then my friend offered to pay and she charged her $59.00 IF YOU ARE NOT A NIGERIAN DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT, THEY WILL OVER CHARGE YOU FOR SMALLER PORTIONS WITH A SIDE OF BAD ATTITUDE. I FEEL BAD AS AN AFRICAN THAT I HAVE TO LEAVE SUCH A BAD REVIEW. VERY DISGUSTING ATTITUDE AND SERVICE. I WILL NEVER GO BACK

Hi Peace & Love: As one of the owners who personally served you and your friend, I want to clarify that we strive to provide every guest with a warm and welcoming experience. When you arrived, I greeted you both and took your friend's order promptly. I then waited several minutes while you made your selection, and once your order was placed, we prepared your meal as quickly as possible.

According to our kitchen system, your order was placed at 2:10 PM and served at 2:21 PM—a total of 11 minutes for two plates of fufu and egusi. We believe this is a reasonable time frame for freshly prepared food, but we’re always looking to improve service efficiency.

Regarding pricing, we provide every customer with a detailed receipt, and your total was $59, not $100. We strive to maintain transparency in our pricing and ensure fairness for all our guests.

We deeply value our customers and appreciate your support of small businesses like ours. Our goal is to share the rich flavors of Nigerian cuisine with everyone, and we welcome all guests with open arms. We hope you’ll give us another chance in the future. Let’s continue to share love and light.

If you’re craving an authentic taste of Nigeria, look no further than Agege Bites. From the moment you step in, you’re welcomed with warm hospitality and an atmosphere that beautifully blends modern comfort with rich Nigerian culture. The menu is a vibrant celebration of Nigeria’s diverse culinary heritage. Every dish bursts with bold flavors and comforting spices. The jollof rice is perfectly smoky and rich, paired wonderfully with tender, succulent grilled chicken. The egusi soup, thick and hearty, served with soft, stretchy pounded yam, is a true showcase of traditional Nigerian cooking done right. The suya? Absolutely divine—perfectly spiced, smoky, and served with fresh onions and tomatoes for that authentic street-food experience. Their pepper soup delivers the right kick, warming you from the inside out. Vegetarians aren’t left out either; the vegetable stew with plantains is flavorful and satisfying. What truly sets Agege Bites apart is their attention to detail. Every bite feels like a homemade meal, prepared with love and care. The service is exceptional—friendly, attentive, and eager to explain dishes to newcomers. The ambiance, with Afrobeats softly playing in the background and colorful décor, transports you straight to Lagos or Abuja. Whether you’re Nigerian and looking for a taste of home or simply an adventurous foodie eager to explore West African cuisine, Agege Bites is a must-visit. It’s more than just a meal; it’s a full cultural experience. Highly recommended!
