DO NOT ENGAGE. The team did multiple home visits and informed us of some potential issues with the water management on the property which could affect the build. We agreed to pay a deposit for some initial work to get this issue resolved and planning for the larger project. That's when everything started to fall apart. They sent "experts" to the house but suddenly the water study wasn't needed. They sent another "expert" to check out the sub pump and track where the existing drainage was coming from. But that "expert" just looked at the pump and didn't run any cameras as discussed. At the time we didn't question it. We started working on a scope for the full project. We were dealing with Jake who would toss out numbers for different things and get us excited about adding on work but when we would get the written scope the prices were suddenly a lot more than what was discussed. The main parts of the project that were clearly outlined from day one were never properly included, some items where billed twice in different line items and often there was language that didn't even make sense for our project. When asked about this he admitted to just having copy pasted from another scope. When asked about the cost discrepancies he said the program must have been faulty even though it was clearly a manual process. We went back and forth a few times but after the 10th dog ate my homework excuse we decided to just get our deposit back and part ways. After months of trying to get a reply about this he tells us the experts he sent cost money for their services and reports. Ok we say, we are reasonable people. Send us the report then so we get what we paid for. But shocker, he can't find the report. We are still waiting for the "lost check" in the mail with our refund. The one stop shop sounds great but it's really just a way to try and prevent you from properly bidding out the work. I had previous bids for some parts of this job so I had something to compare the prices with. The prices in his scope were off the charts. Don't make the same mistake we did. Find someone else.

I signed the contract in December 2023. They did not start construction until April 1. They said it was because of the rain but three houses up an addition was worked on during that same period of time. I think they lied. It is now July 3, in the three months since they started, they did manage to put in the foundation, plywood walls, plywood flooring and a roof, but no insulation, no drywall, no plaster, no stucco and not waterproofed. In that same three months, they managed to fail the plumbing inspection four times, the framing inspection twice. And today there were three more inspections and they failed all of them. Of course, they cannot continue until they pass the inspections. They have communication issues amongst their staff and with the subcontractors. They also don't seem to have any control over the subcontractors. The normal temperature where I am for July is 76°, but today was 92 yesterday 94. The addition without insulation was 101 when it was 88 outside. The addition is open to the rest of my house except for some plastic and so it's heating up the whole house while we are experiencing a heat advisory. The reason I signed the contract in December was that I had hoped to be done in six months and therefore avoid this issue of excessive heat. Oh of course, there is a air-conditioning unit in the addition, but because the addition is not complete, it cannot be turned on and it is also not properly installed in that the condensation drains are not sloped appropriately. I have no idea what to do to get these people to honor the contract that they also signed, to work more than an average of 1 day a week and to do quality work.

My experience with Ray from customer service was a bit frustrating. My appointment was scheduled for 5:00 PM, but I wasn't contacted until 5:30 PM. Additionally, when I asked for a general price range for different remodeling plans, I was told I was being aggressive and my information wasn't even taken. I understand that providing exact quotes over the phone may not be possible, but some general guidance or a timeline for information would be helpful. Clear communication early on is important in building trust for the design and construction process.

I had the great pleasure of booking someone to come out to give us an estimate, I'm the project manager of our remodel for my mother in law Erica. They let me know they needed the home owner to be there, so I insured her home at the time of the visit. My mother in law Erica greeted the man, they called me and we went over potential options all while my mother in law was standing there in her bright pink rob and pj's... then about 10 minutes after we ended. I received a text saying that the "cleaner" greated him and not the home owner ... now my mother in law is Latino was this racism? Was this a communication error? I asked my mother in law did you answer the door introduce yourself she said yes I told him I'm Erica and we did a call. Now to find out my sister in law was also there makes me think how can you mistake this as a cleaner??? It's mind goggling that I would receive a text like this after our meeting.

Green Bay took on a very large and difficult exterior waterproofing job and did it well. We were unable to find any other company that would take on this job. They are resourceful, skilled and care about the customer. Jake Steinberg supervised the work and you would be well served to have him on your job. Jake didn't just fix things the way they were, he made big improvements. Jake is very intelligent and just figures things out. Jake took down an unnecessary top portion wall in our kitchen lightwell has made it dramatic improvement in the light coming into that area. I never would've thought of that and apparently nobody else did prior. It has transformed our kitchen. Now it's bright and sunny. Zero downside. Huge upside. Second, by eliminating a drain scupper, which was a constant problem on our smaller 3d floor deck, and re-sloping the deck surface so that everything would drain into the lightwell drain, he totally eliminated a trouble spot. Bravo. A larger penthouse deck now does not have puddles in the morning. Jake took all the previous coatings off and used lightweight concrete to get the slope right. No prior contractors or roof repair companies ever did. They just kept adding more coats of elastomeric sealer to a poorly sloped surface. It was previously too wet to use until the sun dried things out and that took hours. It's so much better now. Most people would've just repaired everything as it was before and that would've just perpetuated the problems. Jake obviously put more a lot more thought into it than anyone else has. We really appreciate it. Two other guys who deserve kudos are Green Bay's supervisor Thomas ODonnell. He is a second set of eyes on the project and makes sure everything is shipshape and waterproof. He knows his business and is very conscientious. Our lead worker Thurman is very sharp. He's actually a degreed civil engineer from Central America and has led his crew to do amazing things without the added difficulty and expense of bringing a crane on site. They accomplished tasks that I thought were literally impossible without bringing a crane and I am an engineer. They performed miracles just using scaffolding, block and tackle gear, strong backs and ingenuity. No mistakes. No mishaps. Just perfect.

Incredibly professional, friendly, and patiently walked me through the renovation process including highlighting areas in which Green Bay handles the remodeling process different than other construction firms. He was knowledgeable, funny, and I look forward to working with him on future projects.
