Do Not work with Anchor Homes. Read other reviews and believe the frustrations everyone working with them is experiencing. Something is happening with the company this year and it's not good.

I've waited more than an year and a half for ATH to break ground on my ADU. They've ghosted me for the last month and none of my emails or phone calls are being returned. My permit is still in limbo as of today with several easily resolved issues unattended ti by ATH. I've paid them over $35,000 and have nothing to show for it.

We are 15 months into contract with very little movement. When we asked to be removed from our contract we get no response. We do not want to move forward due to their lack of payment to subs and leaving homeowners with unfinished projects after they have paid for the work to be done. We simply keep getting messages like this from an employee at ATH after our pm left the company and we were not notified.

It was a dream to add an ADU to our home. Anchored Tiny Home came along in the end of 2022 and I signed a contract with them. 9/20/2023 permits were all pulled and approved ready to start work. The time lines, I thought we're clear. I felt good. I thought at the time I was dealing with a highly professional group of businesslike & experienced people. I thought the groups of professionals. I have a friend in Antioch working on a Tiny home as well going through very similar problems as mine. I have friends and family which I don't know if I could confidently refer your services to. I am in the last phase of my project and this is the part I will be looking at for many years to come. I have mold spots that started on the framing because the the project sat for so long during framing and raining season. Apparently if it get covered and out of water it will dry up. Someone came out and covered the framing the next day but did not treat the mold at all. Which I had originally asked for. They said it's not live mold and will not cause no damages down the road. They at the very least could have painted the areas with KILZ, a mold treater or replaced the boards. Which they still can do. My original contract was signed 12/5/2022. Since then I have dealt with Architects that went missing before permits were completed. My plans got kicked back 3 different times before they got approved. For the exact same thing twice. Two project Managers Patrick & Almagor. Then there is Luke Wicks who I don't even know if he works with your company anymore who I signed the contract with to do business with your company. Every mile stone in the " Customer Schedule" has fallen short of schedule. Plus the missing Architect. Examples: **Foundation was to be completed in 15 days and they took 18 days to complete. **Rough Framing was supposed to take 15 days and they took 55 days. **Rough MEP was supposed to take 30 days and they took 44 days to come **Drywall was supposed to take 15 days to complete and they took 55 days to complete Here we are In the last phase and I can not get a time line from Mr. Moran because he can not get a time line from Omar & Jesus the sub contractor. Because, they are not paying their contractors who do the work. I have tried reaching out to Tyler.shields@anchoredtinyhomes.com, austin@anchoredtinyhomes.com, chrispace@anchoredtinyhomes.com and Austin Paulhus. There is NO RESPONSE from anyone except the project manager who can not do anything about paying people. At one point back in rough framing I thought okay the weather is playing apart. But once the roof was on I couldn't figure out why all the delays. This is a pattern of short comings. The communication is not there. Despite trying to reach out. Timelines are not being met. All the construction updates is just noise because deadline after deadline has is falling short. Which I have shared with Moran (which by the way is the only one who will respond but has no authority to pay people) . There is no end in sight. As we approach the end of yet another month with no advancements. I am left with no choice but to Lawyer up. I am in the process of filling a claim to CSLB.GOV for work abandonment on our contract and them not paying their contractors. I am in the final stages of my project and I couldn't pay another contractor what money I currently owe them to finish out our contract. I will have to come out of pocket even more then I had priced out. Going into contract with Anchored Tiny homes. Plus lawyer fees and the major distress this is causing me and my family. I would not recommend this company to anyone. Run away!

We have paid a large amount of money to ATH, the majority of which has not been paid to our contractor for work performed. Communication has been severely lacking from the get-go, but is now non-existent. Really wish we had never done business with this company.

There is some lack of consistency with execution by Anchor Tiny Homes. A contact was signed Feb 2023 and 90% of the payments have been made however work stopped abruptly, management has been non-responsive, and our family's ADU is sitting incomplete 16 months later. Based on the advertisements, the total timeline from onboarding to completion should be 7-12 months and our ADU is uninhabitable at 16 months. We were happy with the progress up to 3 months ago. Now, there's been neither an ETA shared nor discernible progress.

I had very high expectations and was initially excited to embark on the ADU journey with Anchor Tiny Homes. Unfortunately, Anchor Tiny Homes has not delivered per the contract and timing of my family’s ADU build in Alameda County. Onboarding started in 2/20/23, the actual construction started on 12/19/23, 90% of the payment had been delivered, yet the ADU work stopped abruptly 3 months ago and the ADU is incomplete now 16 months from the start date. There’s been project management turnover and lack of response from inquiries to Austin Paulhus requesting ETA as to completion or explanation as to official root cause of delay. Do the attached images reflect 90% completion?

I've held off on writing this in hopes that things would turn out differently, but they haven't. Since signing with them in 2022 there's been a series of delays, personnel change over, lack of communication, and zero sense of urgency on the part of ATH. My project broke ground in August 2023 and the flooring was just installed last week. I've had five different project managers since signing on with them, and every one has been saddled with 15-20 projects. Every subcontractor that's been up at my property has complained of non-payment on previous ATH jobs. I've had to manage major aspects of my own project despite me hiring them to do that for me. I've routinely not received regular updates, and I typically only get them by asking multiple times. ATH has had so many problems that they had to hire someone specifically to deal with the backlog of issues, and that's coming directly from an ATH employee. To their credit, they did make some efforts at addressing the 6+ months of issues I had listed out to them. However, things are back off track with subs cancelling at the last minute, subs not showing up on agreed upon times or showing up unannounced, and numerous other issues. The constant delays, excuses, and overall lack of concern for my project from the higher ups I've reached out to speaks volumes. Also from an ATH employee, they seem more concerned about marketing and franchising than they do about their customers. They have made this process the most stressful thing I've ever had to deal with I wouldn't not recommend them to anyone looking to build an ADU, anywhere, ever. ******** Updating to add that my project manager at the time, Brandon Collins, did everything that he could to get me into my home. We were able to pass final inspection with the plan that we'd take care of a bunch of miscellaneous repairs and issues a week or so after the final inspection. I was contacted and informed later that Brandon had left the company. I'm hearing that management is not even paying their own employees now and the additional work that needs to be done might not even happen. I feel bad for the PMs that are being screwed over by upper management.

Disaster experience, completely ghosted by the company. Apparently everyone I've been in an email thread with since this project started in September 2023 has left or been let go. We have nothing but a design and unapproved permits after 9 months. Zero communication/accountability from company leadership. Do not be fooled by their continued marketing efforts. BEWARE.

I'm telling everyone I know to NOT do business with Anchored Tiny Homes. We entered into a $251,000 contract to build an ADU in our backyard. The first few months construction went quickly but all of the sudden contractors stopped showing up and refused to complete our project because ATH hasn't paid them. It has now been 3 months with no progress. The owners do not return calls or email correspondence. They aren't currently being sued by several of their subcontractors and customers. After reporting them to the BBB and the state attorney general we will be looking for an attorney as well. Do not do business with these people.

Anchored took over $100,000 from us to design an ADU and garage and to secure permits. After 19 months we have nothing. They are not paying their subs so all work has halted. Colton sold ADU builds and is using the money to fund a national ADU franchising business. Homeowners, potential franchisees, and investors should stay away!

Warning! Beware of This Company! Stay Away ! This company collects advance payments from clients without delivering any work. In instances where work is performed, subcontractors remain unpaid, leading to potential mechanic liens on your property. Consequently, you'll be left dealing with disgruntled tradespeople directly. Numerous employees have already left the company, suggesting that it may be on the brink of bankruptcy and attempting to maximize cash flow. Do not be deceived by their polished website and social media advertisements; they do not reflect the company's true nature. I hope this warning helps protect your investment. Consider other ADU companies before signing any contracts.

They've taken my money and haven't paid the contractor doing work. Work has stopped and they aren't making it right.

HORRIBLE COMPANY!!!! I am currently building an ADU with these guys and not very happy at the moment! They had stopped work for almost a month now! I have paid upfront money for job not completed yet! i have been asking for updates of what is going on, no response for weeks now… when i tried calling them it goes straight to voicemail! Horrible communication! Looks like they collect as much money as they can upfront and abandon your project! I am now posting these review so other people don’t get into my spot! It seems i made a big mistake trusting them with my project don’t do the same!

Wish I could leave Zero stars. Public be Warned! Our interaction with Colton Paulhus of Anchored Tiny Homes began on February 29, 2020, when we initiated communication with the company. After months of discussion and planning, we sent our first deposit in October 2021 to start the construction of a house and an ADU. The entire process stretched to over four years, culminating in the final inspection on May 29, 2024. Throughout this period, we encountered significant challenges, including employee turnovers, misinformation, and overall disappointment. The quality of workmanship was consistently subpar, with numerous errors that necessitated ongoing follow-ups and corrections which, to this date, have not been adequately addressed. Moreover, the most troubling aspect of our experience was the company's failure to pay its subcontractors promptly, leading to some of them being left unpaid. As a result, our property now has liens placed on it by these subcontractors, which reflects negatively on Anchored Tiny Homes' financial practices and raises ethical concerns about their business operations. Adding to our frustration was the fact that Colton Paulhus, one of the company owners, maintained an active presence on social media, touting the company's success and aggressively promoting the sale of their franchises. Simultaneously, subcontractors remained unpaid, and our construction issues were left unresolved. It is disheartening to witness a lack of accountability and ethical conduct within the company. We call on Colton Paulhus to prioritize honoring financial commitments to the hardworking subcontractors and to address the significant issues we've encountered throughout our engagement with Anchored Tiny Homes. This Company needs to pay their hard-working subcontractors.

Dishonest, disorganized, unscrupulous, unresponsive, and more. History of not paying their subcontractors resulting in liens placed on their clients, botched project after botched project, poor communication between their staff, and delay after delay. For example, my less than 400 sq ft ADU is STILL not satisfactorily complete and I contracted with them in February of 2022! Many clients and contractors are pursuing legal action, and Anchored cares more about advertising and franchising than taking care of the clients and projects and contractors already on their plate. BEWARE! Do not go with ATH for your ADU project; it has been over two years of grief.

We are 82 weeks into a supposed 16-20 week build. Poor quality work constantly needing to be redone, built in design flaws. Contractors complaining of non payment. Weeks where no progress is made. Zero communication from the company (unless they want money). Not once has Colton Paulhus (owner/CEO) or Tyler Shields (Construction supervisor) ever returned a phone call, text, message or email that we've sent them. NOT ONCE IN 82 WEEKS. This is a company with a rotten culture, run by people with no integrity and only interested in money. We have filed with the BBB, CSLB and filed a claim against their bond, and this is just the beginning. I have never felt this disrespected in my adult life.
