I made a comment about a dog on Facebook on someone else's post and he decided to go after me for it. Don't even know him. He may have good training but maybe think twice about who's really working with your dogs :(
(P.S. We didnt even "pick" the dog, he was a rescue from an abusive home)
Ryan is a great trainer. Our Rottie was becoming more and more reactive on walks. She was also growling at guests when entering our home. His training provided us with the tools and skills to communicate more effectively with her. She now walks calmly on a loose leash through our busy city neighborhood and welcomes guests calmly. We had tried other training methods for 2 years without success until Ryan helped us.
Ryan worked with our corgi, Toby in February and March of 2024 and was excellent. Our dog suffered with separation anxiety and aggression and we saw results almost instantly in working with him. Ryan was always on time in showing up to our house for lessons each week. Upon completion of the 8 week course, Ryan offers weekly sessions for dogs who have completed his course for continued development and training. We highly recommend Ryan for anyone looking for a dog trainer!
Ryan with A1-K9 is a miracle worker! Working with him minimized aggressive outbursts our pup had, and his obedience training is top tier! We can walk our dog with no pulling on the leash, and he listens to verbal commands and follows direction. We 10/10 recommend Ryan and A1-K9 for any and all dog training needs!!!
We used Ryan to help train the two puppies we got last July. His services are AMAZING. He uses structured techniques but adapts to the dog's environment—an advantage to having home-based services over other group classes. We—and our dogs—responded to him rapidly and easily. He is patient and a true professional. Even our neighbors commented on how well-mannered and attentive our puppies have become. HIGHLY recommend. PS. He also worked with our older Aussie and helped us break some annoying habits—so now less barking and less likely to run when off-leash.
1/15/24 UPDATE: There is a cruel trainer out of the Kansas City area - Matt Fiala - reported for animal cruelty in the local news station there. THIS IS NOT RYAN. Matt's company has A1 in its title, so Google may bring it up. DO NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE OF BELIEVING THAT A1K9 IS THAT SERVICE PROVIDER. Mr. Fiala's cruel techniques in training - to the point of making for cringe-worthy news-making are SO OPPOSITE to RYAN's LOVE FOR HIS PROFESSION AND DELIVERY OF TRAINING. A1K9 and Ryan McGrath represent the BEST in animal training and care.
Ryan is a great trainer!!! He did so much for my dog Yoda and I. He drove to us, he would meet at later times if something came up, and he was so nice and gentle with yoda! Ryan is a great trainer and I would recommend him!!!!
P.s. All of the bad reviews are people mistaken him for someone different, they are trying to report Matt Fiala. Again, ryan is a great trainer and I would trust him with every dog I take in my home!
I am so happy Ryan A1-K9 dog training came into Grant (gsd) and my life . He is an excellent trainer who gave me so much confidence in handling my boy along with patience and understanding of our needs. He is top notch and would recommend his training and level of professionalism to anyone seeking high quality training.
Ryan is the dog whisperer! He truly speaks to animals. His love and gentleness combined with his ability to train the real problem- the owner! IMPORTANT- He is not the A1 guy located in KC MO who has a bad rep, People are attacking the wrong guy by leaving bad reviews.Ryan really is the best, most dedicated trainer that I have seen and dogs respond quickly to him because he understands them.
Ryan is the best! We adopted a very strong willed staffy named Porkchop and noticed a huge difference even after just 1 session. Porkchop loves when Ryan comes over to teach him how to be a better gentleman. He likes to get pats and praises from Ryan so he usually follows the rules. We cant wait to keep learning new things.
Thanks Ryan!!
