We had a really poor experience when moving house. On the rare occasion I managed to speak to Sue she was really quite rude, most of the time my calls and emails were ignored. They were extremely rude. I would have to ring several times to get any information. If they’d just called back the first time and kept me updated I wouldn’t of had to ring again.They also sent me documents I wasn’t meant to complete, it seemed like they hadn’t even read them. They also charged us more that we were quoted, when I questioned it there attitude was pay it or we won’t complete your sale. Avoid this firm.

The communication from Toomey Legal is very poor. They promise a call back then don't call back. 99% of emails go ignored.

Used this company on the sale of my house, they dragged their feet from the get go. When rang up to enquire how things were progressing, the person dealing with it was always out to lunch or out of office, they never returned calls. Then because of the constant heel dragging the redemption certificate ran out and which caused nearly another unnecessary 2 week delay.

In my experience, the "service" provided by this outfit is absolutely appalling. In what is coming up to two years, they have FAILED to accomplish something that should have taken 6-8 weeks. The words "chocolate" and "teapot" spring to mind. Registered letters go un-answered, emails are ignored, telephone calls are met with a brush-off, requests for return of monies deposited with them are ignored. Consider: the reviews on this website are either 5 star or 1 star. There seems to be nothing in-between. There is apparently no evidence to support any question of the veracity of the 5 star reviews. I have one of the principals, Sue Shaw-Toomey, assurances on this point. Consider: how up-to-date are the reviews. The principals of this firm proclaim on their website that they are "Licensed Conveyancers". My experience leads me to seriously question just how exacting are the standards under which their qualifications are awarded. Do these standards infect the rest of this sector of the legal profession? In short AVOID at all costs.

As a first time buyer going through the process just when lockdown started, I was incredibly worried about basically everything about the sale. I couldn't have asked for more with Toomey Legal and especially Helen, everything is sorted and they couldn't have been more happy to help (I had a LOT of questions!). Highly, highly recommend.

Communication could have been better, hard to get in touch with. Sometimes no reply in months. Felt like I was being avoided.
