BOOK AT YOUR OWN RISK! THEY ARE SCAMMERS! If I could give zero stars to this company, I would! They don’t even deserve one star. We were extremely disappointed with the service from this agency. Despite booking early—four months in advance—and paying a hefty deposit in March for a 4D3N sailing trip from Lombok to Labuan Bajo on July 10th, we were notified just one day before our departure that our boat was not sailing and all other boats were full. The lame explanation given was high waves, yet other boats were still operating, making us feel scammed. I suspect they canceled because the boat wasn't full and they didn't want to operate. Although Rama of 17Tour seemed helpful during our initial inquiries, it was likely just a business tactic, as the entire process was riddled with dishonesty. We were not informed that the original boat we booked and paid for had ceased service. Only when I checked the website two weeks before our departure did I notice, to my horror, that the boat listed on the new website was completely different! Our original booking was for a private double bunk bed room with an attached private bathroom, but the new listing was for a mass "refugee"-like boat with 60 people on paper-thin mattresses and shared bathrooms. When I messaged 17Tour on WhatsApp to confirm my suspicions and double-check pickup arrangements, they admitted that the original boat I booked no longer existed. They would not have informed us if we hadn’t checked beforehand, meaning we were overpaying for what we would be getting! After lengthy negotiations, they promised a better boat with a private double bed, an extra single bed (for our party of three), and a private bathroom. With their “promise,” we decided to proceed with the trip. Unfortunately, even this alternative was fake. They canceled on us just one day before our scheduled sailing date, and we had already flown into Lombok. Without prior hotel bookings and with our connecting flights back home from Labuan Bajo to Bali, this led to significant additional costs and forced us to cut short our vacation. The appalling lack of responsibility and dishonesty from this tour operator forced us to forfeit our connecting flights and incur additional expenses, which we had to bear ourselves. We had to cut our trip short and fly back home, as it was too late to make alternative arrangements. Our entire experience in Lombok was ruined by this agency, which showed no remorse and offered no resolution beyond a cursory apology for not finding a boat.

Our time here was fun and the crew were great as well, however there were a lot of problems with our tour. The conditions weren’t great with a lot of cockroaches in the bathrooms and kitchen area. The tour itself only felt worthwhile at the end of the trip with the stops around Komodo island which were incredible. But the first 2 days we rushed through completely only stopping once at an island for less than an hour and once for the whale sharks which were fed. It was fine for the price but if I did this again I’d get a return flight to Labuan Bajo and get an overnight tour of the Komodo islands from there.

Lovely staff, the stops were gorgeous although we seemed to be constantly delayed so we skipped a few spots that the other boats were stopping at. The food was good but some nights there was not enough plates for all of the guests. Finally, the boat was infested with cockroaches!! They were everywhere in the toilet and around the kitchen area and some even in the bedrooms. The staff were so lovely and accommodation but the boat is shabby and quite dirty.

Here is the actually useful review you are looking for. We did the cruise 4 days, 3 nights from Lombok to Flores I post this review on two locations, my tour agency and the cruise office itself. I think the cruise does not deserve the bad ratings its getting, so i will adress some of the common criticism. Me and a friend went with Golden Cruise, the boat was the "88", the one that leaves every Saturday. We booked online with 17tour agency, private sea view cabin. Their communication was fast and they were helpful, everything went well. Thanks to 17tour agency here. For the boat: This is not a luxury cruise. Expect everything to be basic and you will not be disappointed. Almost everyone, us included on the boat is a young western backpacker between 20-30 years old. When you are used to backpack south east asia, facilities are like staying in a hostel. Food: 3 meals a day, usually rice/noodles with fish/chicken/tempe. Pancakes or toast in the morning. Extra eggs if you are vegetarian. Basic but good and sufficient. 2 toiletts, 3 showers. (2 outdoor, 1 indoor), again sufficient. "Manual" flushing the toilett with a waterpot, again, not uncommon in south east asia. The private cabin: A lot of people complained its loud and hot. If you have ever slept in a room without AC, this is no different. It was just fine. The noise: we had the room furthest away from the engine, you could almost not hear it at all. Even for the rooms closer, it did not seem to be much of an issue. Get earplugs if you are worried about a bit of noise. I was able to sleep just fine. Whale Sharks: yes they are being fed while you are there. For me it was still impressive to see them this close and a highlight of my travel. Yes there are a lot of people in the water. Just be the first in the water and you have some minutes before more people arrive. Expect some time spent just travelling on 2. day, bring some card games or movies if you get bored easily, this is not a cruise ship there to entertain you. Other then that, you go snorkeling a couple of times (Good equipment provided, enough for everyone), as well as get of the boat to watch the sunset from beautiful hills. Honestly, i dont really understand the many bad reviews. Everyone i talked to enjoyed it as well. Watching the stars in the middle of the night, see amazing sunrises and sunsets, swim with whale sharks, connect to other backpackers on the boat, beaches, Komodo Dragon from up close, i liked it a lot. The boat was in "good" shape, dont expect it to be "new". It was clean enough to feel comfortable. The boat itself is quite big, you can move around a lot on the two sundecks as well as spent time in sun protected areas. I loved it. We got multiple briefings about the programm throughout the trip. Who is it for: Backpackers and those who dont mind being around them and are fine without western standard for 3 nights. Thanks to the nice team for some great days :)

We booked a "luxury" ship with 4 beds for 3 people. The trip was for 4 days and 3 Nights from Lombok to Labuan Bajo. We paid for 3,5 People because we didn't want to share our room with other people. The HOROR started with different ship than the ones we booked and paid for. The room we got was totally different and the bathroom was so bad. The room also only had 2 beds and we needed to pay 1 Mio. Rupiah more to get a second bedroom, so that each of us get a bed. The bed lines and towels had many stains on them and looked very unsanitary. The kitchen was dirty and the food wasn't really clean. We even found a couple cockroaches in there. During the trip, the ship had engine failures everyday and we stopped many time because they have to "repair" the engine. Every activities were at least 1 hour shortened and the engine failures was always the reason. Despite the engine problems, we arrived 3,5 hours earlier than the itinerary listed 😂 it just shows that they don't want to do their jobs and only think about how the can lower their cost and higher their profit The one star is because we got to the location listed in the itinerary and the friendly crews. The agency only talks to you until you send them the money and a day before the trip started. It didn't share any related information like the changes of the plan or ship. The ship company only thinks about profit. The "luxury" title didn't suits the condition of the ship. It only means that you get your own room and bathroom. The itinerary was great but sadly the overall quality of the trip is poor.

I did the 4 day Komodo tour which was pretty cheap to be fair to them. However, the whale sharks are fed, they aren’t really wild but the biggest disappointment was the food. Two of our lunches were just plain rice and noodles! Day 2 as well we were just on the boat from 8am to 4pm sailing so there wasn’t a huge amount to do. I’m glad I see the whale sharks and the Komodo dragons but the tour could definitely be better run. The mattresses were uncomfortable. There was very little vegetables and protein in the meals.

We did a 3D/4N Labuna Bajo - Lombok boat trip, the cruise was exceptionally beautiful, the Luxury room with a balcony was ok for the price, we enjoyed the beautiful sunsets & sunrises, and the islands, as well as the good meals for the price. We missed somewhat more information regarding the daily programs and about the landscape & wildlife. We missed more help and effort from the staff in some of the programs: helping to find mantas for instance with an experienced local diver. On Kommodo island a shorter trip was planned without consultation with the boat-guests. We were disappointed that the main highlight, the whale-shark point was cancelled due to program change. As Europeans we would rather sea whale-sharks than the 3rd sun-set or sun-rise from a hilltop. A bit more cleanness would be preferred. We missed the availability to purchase soft drinks and snacks on the boat for more convenience (though you can by them on the islands). The captain is not only a great sailor also in stormy weather, but plays & sings great local music with his guitar

the ship was very dirty, the beds were not suitable (no space). the number of passengers was up to 60 people so not everyone got the food. and the food menu is also too small.

Horrible experience, I booked the Komodo trip 4d3n, dont waste your vacation on this. Keywords: bad food, nasty boats, terrible organisation. They work with Golden island cruise. Description of the itinerary which I wish someone gave to me before paying for this trip: 1 day: Getting to Lombok port takes a 3h bus ride throughout the whole island. The agency does not tell you in advance what time will you arrive on the boat because everything is arbitrary in Indonesia and that you need to take your own snacks and beer on the boat so you are basically hungry from 8am when they tell you to get ready for departure until 4-5 pm when you arrive on the boat and the staff prepares the welcome dinner which is a basic soup. Then you are just sailing on the boat until the next day. 2 day. At 6am they wake you up to see an artificially fed whale shark from another boat in the middle of the ocean, about 1-2h experience. The whale shark is beautiful, you get snorkelling mask to see the whole creature. Then you are basically sailing the whole day for about 24h, until the next morning, no other activities, another vacation day spent to nothing. Ill mention the food here as there is nothing much to be said about the nonexistent activities. The staff touches the food with hands before they put it in your plate, the kitchen is mega dirty, I have not seen them taking a shower or washing their hands during the 4 days, let alone washing the dishes with dishwashing liquid. I still wonder how we didnt get some food poisoning yet. The food is simple, banana pancakes for breakfast, lunch rice with chicken and fried vegetables, dinner fried tofu, rice or shpagetti with vegetables. 3 day: The only day we did something outside of the boat. The day started about 8am going to Komodo park to see the Komodo dragons, we spent there about 2h, there is a small hike around the park so that was a nice change after spending 48h on the boat. After that we returned to the boat, sailed another 3-4h, and got to the Padar view park which was probably the best experience on this trip. We watched the sunset on the beaches from the top of the hill, many boats arrived in the same time so there were lots of people. It was beautiful anways, the only day spent usefully. We returned to the boat and the staff prepared a small disco party for us, everyone got wasted, including the staff themselves. It was a good party as a change. 4 day: so on this horrible day, the captain stuck our boat into a coral reef for about 8 hours and we could not move anywhere. We were supposed to swim with the baby sharks on this day but because he got drunk the last night, he fell asleep while sailing and the stuck the boat at 2am . He did not report the issue immediately and just waited for the tide to go up again and brought another boat to drag ours so we can somehow move from the coral reef. They succeeded about 11am and after 30 mins sailing stopped by a nearby beach to let us snorkel. The 4th day finished at 2pm, and we did not do anything as promised in the tour guidance. There is a photo provided of our boar being stuck. The staff even asked for money for the coctails last night and put a tip box in the middle of the boat which was the biggest joke of the day. Summary: waste of time, 4 days of holiday went to the bin. You spend 56 eur per day on this boat trip which is overpaying, for that money as a solo traveller you can get a decent homestay in Indonesia + full day quality food + rented scooter to fo all the activities you want or a paid tour from Labuan Bajo to Komodo. If I knew, I would have just flown to Labuan Bajo from Bali, taken a short day trips from there to the Komodo and Padar islands and saved tons of money. Oh yes, and you need to pay your flight back to wherever you are flying in Indonesia after the boat trip. So mega expensive, rubbish tour. The tour agency did not apologise for the horrible organisation and no refund policy allowed. I have travelled to all the southeast asian countries so far but I have never seen such greediness in the culture anywhere else.
