My girlfriend recently retained Pauline to represent her in a highly contentious divorce that has stretched on for nearly two years. They agreed on a $3,000 retainer plus $650 monthly until the fees were paid. A few weeks later, Pauline unexpectedly requested—and received—an additional $2,500.
Now, before the next $650 payment was even due, Pauline demanded more money again. Less than a week later, she filed a motion to withdraw from the case.
