Cornerstone is complete trash and the people that work there are even worse This has been one of the worst experiences of my life. When I started renting from cornerstone at the Allan townhomes in mesa az I thought finally I had found a decent place and company to rent from out here in az. I was sorely mistaken. This property management company and every single employee I have come across: Conner the lead property manager , Zack the VP and broker and Nancy the cfo of all People are nothing more then money hungry, disgusting, unsympathetic jerks. When I lost my job and was late paying rent, Nancy the cfo would demean me and embarrass me in front of the entire office each time I came in to pay (3 times) talking down to me about being late on rent saying the whole high and mighty “back in my day bs” “I remind her of her own kids and blah blah blah” thinking that I need or want her opinion on anything and you read that right- mind you, every time I was walking in with money and a check in hand. I paid over $6k in one month to catch up to when I was late paid all court fees all late fees and after telling Nancy I would have to offset next months rent since I paid so much the previous month she laughed at me and sent me to court the day after the 1st. The final day my bf walked in to pay because at this point she was triggering my anxiety (I am diagnosed and struggle with panic attacks) so I refused to see or speak to this awful individual since I didn’t deserve this treatment or behavior from anyone let alone some uptight property management old hag on a power trip. So my bf goes in to drop off more money and when he comes out to the car my bf informed me she told him the office was taking bets on if I was going to have the payment. Can you believe that?? Taking bets on someone who is struggling and paying their bills. How sick. That’s who these people are that’s the CFO of cornerstone for you. This property doesn’t care AT ALL about their tenants they’ve made that perfectly clear. Now, for the best part. My genius next door neighbors run their cars in their garage now, even tho the garage door is open this is still extremely Dangerous it’s carbon monoxide building in an enclosed space and we had mentioned this before to him but of course (about a month ago now) early monday morning low and behold he started a garage fire (oil on the garage floor and running the cars what do you expect!?!) this was directly next door to me and I was the one who called 911 since my neighbors are Asian and do not speak good English they had no idea how to do so. After I came out witnessing them screaming help just in time I called 911. I grabbed my dog and ran out of my home praying to god it wouldn’t burn down with all my things inside. Luckily the fire dept got there and only my neighbors unit was impacted see pics below. Well I have 1 month left on my lease at this point and I want OUT it reeks of smoke and mildew from the aftermath of the fire and when after 2 days went by not a single email or call from the property on how I am doing or hey thanks for saving our property from burning down nope nada big surprise. So I finally email them and ask if I can get out of this god awful place and lease early and I get the response you see below. Some kind of compassion right? Cornerstone property is trash. They are god awful people please don’t ever rent from cornerstone they will make your life miserable just like they have made mine. I have paid all my rent and late fees and they still treat me like absolute crap. They’re also trying to extort me for attorney fees they are trying to say I owe me for sending me to court unnecessarily for being late on rent I shouldn’t have paid since I have repairs that have gone un attended to. I’ll be taking legal action but I’m writing this review so no one makes the same mistake I do and think this is a decent company to rent from IT ISNT THEY DONT CARE AT ALL ABOUT THEIR TENNATS. Just look at these other reviews and their comments it’s not just this property it’s all of theirs. Do yourself a favor don’t make the mistake I did and rent elsewhere.
