AVOID - Confirmed Reservation Didn’t Exist, Then Ignored for 3+ Weeks
DO NOT USE TRAVELURO. They confirmed and charged me for a reservation that didn’t exist, gave me a drastically inferior substitute, then ignored my complaint for 23+ days.
THE DISASTER:
Booked king room at Yavapai Lodge, Grand Canyon Village. Full confirmation, paid in full. December 30, 2025: Arrived to find NO RESERVATION in hotel system.
After hours on phone while standing in lobby, relocated to Grand Canyon Plaza Hotel - drastically worse:
❌ LOCATION: Yavapai (inside park, walking to rim) → Grand Canyon Plaza (outside park, must drive everywhere)
❌ ROOM: King bed → two doubles, no windows, deferred maintenance
❌ TIME: Several vacation hours lost
CUSTOMER SERVICE BLACK HOLE:
Dec 31: Formal compensation request submitted
Jan 3: Follow-up email - IGNORED
Jan 5: Generic “reviewing” response - THEN SILENCE
Jan 12: Urgent follow-up - IGNORED
Jan 21: Phone message - IGNORED
Jan 22: 23 DAYS - STILL NOTHING
They acknowledged my complaint but made zero effort to resolve it.
THE PROBLEM:
1. Confirmed reservation didn’t exist - their systems are unreliable
1. Substitute was dramatically inferior in every way
1. Won’t respond to legitimate complaints
How can you trust confirmations that don’t result in actual reservations? When things go wrong, they ghost you.
BOTTOM LINE:
Book directly with hotels or use reputable platforms. Traveluro can’t ensure reservations exist and won’t help when they fail. Not worth the risk.
Filing BBB complaint and credit card chargeback.
