Don't give your money to anyone who demands a quick sale
Please take your time and do your research if you want to go down the solar route and never ever sign up to anything on the spot. It's a big investment - only trust it to someone that lets you take your time, and is signed up to accreditation schemes. Companies offer incentives to people to put up or take down reviews so please bear this in mind when looking at review platforms.
I've been in dispute with this company since I cancelled my contract a few days after signing it. They came to my house and after a sales pitch lasting several hours persuaded me that I needed to pay a deposit on the spot in order to get a good deal. But looking into them some more over the next couple of days the company was unable to give me any details of accreditation schemes that they belonged to, and it turned out that the verbal promise of a yield guarantee was not backed up by the guy who replied to my emails, as well as various other issues that had eroded my trust in the company. So I cancelled the contract, but they refused to give me back the deposit, and are now trying to charge me for cancellation fees, which they are not entitled to do . In the end I got the deposit back through my bank's Chargeback scheme - the bank (Co-op) were really helpful, and other banks offer this scheme too. If anyone one here is in a similar position, Citizens Advice Bureau will give you good advice and can also report companies to Trading Standards. Make sure that all correspondence is done by email, don't speak to them on the phone or if they turn up unannnounced on your doorstep. It's critical that you have everything in writing.
